I've seen this reviewed somewhere before on YouTube, it seems kinda cool that it's smart like that. I can't wait for more devs to embrace Amiibo support, I bet it'll get better than what Nintendo is doing someday.
$14.99 is really steep for this. It's gone on sale on PSN a handful of times, for $1 about a bunch of times, same with The Cave, which acts similar to this in gameplay, which is also $15 on the WiiU, and has the same $1 sale on PSN, or even free on PS+ I think once or twice. Yet another example of it being too expensive to port a game over. That can't bode well for sales. I expected a 7 or 8/10 on this totally, they seem to have that average going for them. I've not played this or any game in the series, but I must say after reading about the series in a whole, it's usually quite glitchy. Framerate issues are always a thing for some reason and apparently they're kind of short games. Also this game has been out for a while. It's kind of random this came to the WiiU, but maybe they'll add more eventually. This style game is quite popular for the WiiU it seems. If it goes on sale for at least 50% off at some point I may consider it. They're not uninteresting, just a touch pricey for the length and appeal.
Well at least it seals the deal in terms of there being more Fire Emblem. Hopefully with the popularity they reissue more of the older ones into VC downloads. I'll never get over how they were going to pull the plug on this series and it turned around so fast. What changed peoples minds? It's not like the older games were bad. For me it was just that now I'm older and can appreciate it, and they actually kept up the stock on it. I probably could have played the Wii game but I so vaguely even remember seeing it in the store.
Makes it even less surprising with this attitude that they picked Xbox as the exclusive console. Makes you not want to buy the game that's for sure, if not just to buy it and anger Xbox fans that something left their egg cooker and went to the WiiUseless. Also it's funny how based on a few rumors and things that Nintendo would like to do, that suddenly "NX IS HERE IN 2016" is a sealed deal, which Nintendo never said once was true, just that they want to. Anyone ever heard of a delay? It doesn't even have to be a negative delay. So now all the idiot gamer journalists are going out of their way to stir the pot, get the devs angrier over nothing, get the community in an uproar and for what? I yearn for the days where the big companies ruled again and shut down these indie peanuts. Cool game, bad attitude. You don't deserve my money.
Red, Silver and Ruby. The three that shaped pokemon in my childhood. I probably was most involved in it during the first 3 gens, after having played Red, then Blue, then Yellow, then replaying Blue (because Red was my precious), it felt like by the time Silver and Gold came out, the world seemed bigger and everything seemed so new that it recaptured me, then once again for Ruby with the GBA. After that it's ups and neutrals, not so many downs. But I've never missed a gen!
The whole game is go here and watch a cutscene, go here and watch a cutscene, BINGO!!!!, do a mission you have no idea what the point is, forget about it because it takes too long for a while, come back and it still doesnt make sense WOW!!!
Pointless article. The only reason this game got as much attention as it did, was because of the nervous guy on the stage who introduced the game to the world. Looks nice, but nothing about it is really new, we've played it all before. I'm surprised to come in here and see people aren't swooning over his "adorable comment" on how he doesn't know about the NX. More than enough people don't know about the NX who are devs, did we really need to report on this?
It feels like we're going to go round in circles with this starting now. BRING BACK THIRD PARTY GAMES!!! /brings them back NINTENDO SYSTEMS ARE ONLY FOR NINTENDO GAMES WTH BUY AN XBOX/PS SYSTEM FOR YOUR THIRD PARTY GAMES. Just like before. No hate for anyone who plays their sports/third party on Nintendo, I do quite often when I can, but we all know the sales became abysmal between GCN & WiiU. If they want to try and get this "itching straight beer drinking sports guy" to buy their NX, they're going to have to come in at a reasonable price and be at or above the other 2 major system competitors in system power. The fan groups they've lost are the most fickle group to get back. I'm less worried about Japanese developers coming back, because most already still support Nintendo, be it through the 3DS or with hints (or lots) of help via the Virtual Console. But the western devs are douchey and pick teams based on biases or blindly choose which system to treat their game better on, and they never choose Nintendo anymore. It doesn't mean what it use to, to be on Nintendo.
Xbox has been the most powerful unit since it's launch, that said, it means the most power given to the unit. That doesn't mean it utilizes it in every game, or that every game is more fun and superior than other systems, it just goes to say Microsoft put in the most powerful and advanced things at the minute in comparison to the other competitors.
The N64, GameCube, Wii and WiiU are all the weaklings in terms of oomph (out of desireable systems, we could talk Ouya or 3DO), but there was and is absolutely no lack of excitement, fun and sales to keep any of these systems away, despite some belief. The GCN lasted despite doomed rumors and the WiiU is going still despite doomed rumors. The DS was insignificant in power compared to the PSP and look who triumphed in that battle, and the 3DS is superior to the Vita basically in every way except hardware. There's a full library, good graphics, and the highest sales of any gaming system this gen. Power is meaningless if there's a library of games, which is clearly why the GB and other underpowered systems will still succeed.
Underpowered doesn't mean boring. Something they've continued to today, and is still true today. Even if consumers and gamers refuse to acknowledge it sometimes.
Cool, glad Little Tokyo has like 3 markets that import everything. They'll have them no doubt. I wonder if the top pic with the hard candies will be the same candies that the Super Mario U and Animal Crossing ones were. But the flavors look changed a bit, which stinks because that Peach one they had in the AC & Mario packs were so delicious wow
LOL @ forever whine about the price even though there's more to it than a normal game now that they tweaked it. Also considering the time you'll spend on Pokemon if you play it through to the end, it's worth $10. If you play it "properly" you'll probably spend more than 10 hours on it so it ends up being less than a dollar an hour of fun. Properly, meaning without cheating or speeding through it to reduce the time to the smallest amount you can. I couldn't care less about free Mew codes with the JP versions, I'd never use Mew anyway. I can understand the Mega Man thing because of no Amiibo but the Mew code? Aye....
I doubt Mario can be supplanted as the most influential but Zelda games are easily .1 behind Mario in the influence. This is coming from me who has no preference as to which one has the more influence
@Peace-Boy Lol it makes me think of Kamiya saying no to Bayonetta in Smash, repeatedly, then finally he caved or Nintendo did their own thing and she won the Smash poll, and because as Kamiya even said, Nintendo paid for the rights to her and she's there. Maybe if there was somehow more time, Geno would have been rejected 100 times publicly, then added anyway.
TOO LATE you made the costume, no takesies backsies.
Lol Geno is only in Super Mario RPG, and is featured in a small form inside a minigame in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga for GBA. He's been mentioned once more (thanks to the GBA game) than a bunch of characters in their own games. Ice Climber, Duck Hunt, Ness, Lucas, and Dark Pit. Maybe another one or two. So you can't really go by mention. It doesn't make sense anymore if you judge by that.
@Denngar That doesn't mean squat. If Earthbound was known in Japan, it doesn't matter that he was unpopular in the US. They expected to make an Earthbound 64 as well, so that could be another reason Ness is in Smash. Then they added Lucas because Mother 3 was in Japan. They didn't consider things like this before the way they do now. They also put Roy & Marth in Smash before the entire west really even knew what Fire Emblem was (or right when they decided to do the GBA games for us). Now is the first time in the history of Smash that Ness and his background are being explained first hand to new comers since the original game came out thanks to the virtual console.
@thelastgogeta just google it yourself, there's a handful in Google Images when I just search Kamiya Tweets Bayonetta
No proof they DIDN'T have to go around him at Nintendo either. I just said that as possibility over why he says No and goes nuts, doesn't defend himself when people are attacking/inquiring about why Bay couldn't be in Smash at the time, which is implying he really means No. Then it happens anyway and he says nothing but "Nintendo paid to use her", and really if he came out again after she wins the Smash Ballot by popularity and still condemns it who's going to look like the fool and get harassed? Most definitely him. At the end of the day he got his check, so why would he say no publicly again? Even though he kind of did with PXZ. A LOT of time passed between Bay1&2 WiiU release to Smash, so it's not as though he isn't allowed to change his mind. But he's like a child who threw a tantrum, then he cooled off and just dealt with what everyone wanted and ultimately got anyway. Lol I didn't say he didn't like his fellow team mates. I meant it as he didn't seem fond of any other big devs doing work on his IPs besides Capcom. Until Bayonetta which was saved from death. Not fond, meaning he could say yes, but he needs some really long hard convincing.
@Ras More like a iconic cult game. They've struggled with money to make these games, so advertising is low. Nintendo featured VLR once during I think Holiday 2013 in some paper/digital ads where just the logo was shown. The first game 999 was kind of obscure imo.
