I think most gamers want convenience over power generally. To get the most out of your PS5 or Xbox Series X you are going to have to tether yourself to a large 4K screen. I’m not too interested in doing that on a daily basis.

Digital is the way to go for this kind of game anyways. Hope everyone gets their copies soon!

@Krull You’re right, I didn’t get through it. Called it quits in the midst of the fourth story. I just think it has absolutely nothing on the classic Final Fantasies. I do love the art style though. I wish they would remake FF6 like that.

I’d recommend skipping Octopath and go play anything from Final Fantasy 4-10 instead. Octopath had absolutely no connection between characters story-wise and boss battles were needlessly long and tedious.

I think they’ll do the direct a solid week after Animal Crossing comes out. Don’t wanna overshadow that baby.

Europe’s looks amazing!

Sounds great but Square is a shell of its former self. The last really good game they made was arguably Final Fantasy X and that was many years ago.

If Castlevania 3 didn’t have a few terrible levels (basement of Dracula’s Castle) it would be #1 for me. Super Castlevania 4 and Rondo are at the top IMO.

@Zyph I finished it recently. I think it runs pretty decently now. Not perfect but definitely playable.

Great article. I am dying for Pikmin 4. My theory is that the game is delayed because Nintendo hasn’t quite gotten the joycon motion controls on the Switch to work as well as it did on the Wii and Wii U. I haven’t played any Switch games that clearly demonstrate this capability. Ultimately they want to make sure the controls are perfect before releasing it.

So around 20- 30% of the voters here are trolls. Ok then.

I hope these games are remastered and they remove the “rubber band” arcade difficulty system from MK 2 and 3. It’s infuriating when the CPU reads your inputs and counters you perfectly.

I believe a few characters have been added to the roster since then.

@Silly_G I think Smash Ultimate feels pretty damn complete with or without the additional DLC. 75 characters and over 100 backgrounds? Plus, it’s $5 for each DLC character coming from another franchise. Capcom charges that price for each costume!
