I’ve given up on Square Enix making anything good. If this is extremely faithful to the original I might give it a go.

If you like Metroid and have a PS5 I can’t recommend Returnal enough. An amazing game to play through while you’re waiting for Dread!

Megaman 7 is a very underrated game. It’s the most Saturday-morning-cartoonesque game I’ve ever played. Amazing music, too.

Nintendo has a history of neglecting some of its best franchises.

Pro: Will make your SNES game collection look neater
Con: Will force you to reverse-mortgage your home

@NEStalgia Ah yes you’re totally right. I conflated Bravely Default and Octopath. I at least managed to finish Bravely Default despite its flaws. I agree, Octopath was extremely disappointing and tedious. Kudos to those who collected every hero and beat the game. I got to my third hero and had to tap out.
So far Ni No Kuni is the only recent RPG that I have played that feels like a good throwback to anything like Final Fantasy. Don’t even get me started about FF7 Remake... :S

Square Enix's ability to make a competent game is definitely in doubt. Even when they are at their "best" with Bravely Default, they can't help themselves but pad boss fights to make them more tedious than fun. I'm still waiting for a game as good and fun as Final Fantasy 4, 5 or 6 and we will likely never get it.

The Mana games were remakes of old, good games when Square knew how to make them. I found Octopath to be beautiful visually but tedious and repetitive. Even Final Fantasy Remake was bad in my opinion - there was so much unnecessary filler. I think Bravely Default was their best offering in the last decade and even that wasn’t close to the Final Fantasy games of the SNES era.

I have no faith in Square Enix doing anything competently.

I can’t really see what a Switch Pro would offer that would be a must-have feature. It’ll probably have to be roughly the same size anyways to be compatible with the dock and joy cons. If it’s not compatible, that’ll just be another headache for people.

Can “Blurry Fake Screenshots” or “BFS” please be the official working title from now on?
