I remember when I was working on a project that I was passionate about, but also had a killer pain from a condition. I hated not being able to work on the project when I had the condition act up. I'd take pain relievers, and as soon as I could, I'd be working on it again. When you love what you do, you don't care. He loves what he does, and it shows.
I have the original set of joy cons, a pro controller, and an 8bitdo Sf30 pro. I thought I was all set. Luckily, those I plan to play with have their own switch consoles.
I might eventually pick this up on switch, I have it on PS4 and Steam (the new translation is much better).. Ys is one of my favorite series, and this one comes close to my favorite of the series. Slow start, by the end the OST was on my playlist.
I had one, I sold it at Christmas (at normal price) to a co-worker who wanted it for her and her mother to play. I figured I would be able to get another someday, but I'm not too disappointed because I probably wouldn't have used it much. I feel bad for those who were patient and believed that there would be many more shipments. If this is just a NoA thing, well that would just be BS.
At first I was watching thinking I didn't like the white UI and wished there was a dark mode... then he switched on dark mode, and I was pleasantly surprised. I am happy to see its much faster than the Wii U's interface. I hope it stays just as snappy as features are added and content is installed.
This is something that shouldn't be a problem for years to come (hopefully). I'm sure some crafty people will come up with a way to DIY, and some third party batteries will pop up.
I once imagined a Nintendo online service that made a wide variety of virtual console games free as long as you were a subscriber, similar to what Amazon does with prime video and music (think of online play as the free shipping the service provides). I think having access to the virtual console library alone would have been a subscription and console seller; looking at the success of the NES classic. We will just have to wait and see how it goes.
Seems there is another wireless controller available on Amazon for preorder by a company called dreamGEAR. It's called "My Arcade GamePad Classic", listed at $14.99, along with a pro version with "x" and "y" buttons for 19.99. It's looks a bit nicer, but the images seem to be renderings and not the actual product.
I have to wonder how the buttons feel vs the stock pad. I'm sure better looking controllers that offer wireless will be released, but I remember back in the NES days.. those third party controllers just didn't cut it in terms of feel and response.
@freaksloan I'm in the same boat with you. I'd rather wait and not have to deal with it being out of stock, and see what it has to offer after a bit on the market. I have so many Wii U/3DS games that I haven't had time to play, along with steam and PS4. I'm still interested and will follow the console. ( I said the same thing about the Wii U and ended up picking it up within a month of launch on impulse )
@Jamotello I can't see the Switch not having some form of virtual console. I think this is to fill the lack of a big holiday release, and to get "Nintendo" on those hot holiday items lists. I have a bad feeling that most won't be able to pick this up until next year.
I would buy more digital if they were significantly cheaper, and released sooner (digital could be made available when the hard copies are still being produced and the game in finished, weeks ahead of release dates). Even more important, Nintendo needs to link purchases to people, not hardware.
The costume I really want.. the one that comes full circle with Mario Paint (that this started of as) and brings in the "special stamp" tool.. to let you create your own costumes. Hey, I can dream...
I was kind of hoping for a traditional Metroid on the 3DS.. I'd like to see a reboot/reimagining of sorts. The prime series was good, I just prefer the old style.
@Moon I feel the same way, I'd rather have a full Mario and Sonic cross-over than another one of these. The idea is cool and all, but I'd really like to see something more. These titles feel like they leave something to be desired, at least in terms of the characters meeting.
This is what I'd like to see Nintendo doing; remaking these classics in HD, and not releasing virtual console games that look horrible on today's displays. Of course, I'm not suggesting remake all titles, but popular games such as this.. It would make an excellent 30th anniversary commemorative. On the subject of this fan game, it was pretty well programmed, and a great effort, art assets aside.
It would be nice if you could play on the gamepad alone.. it has an analog stick and the touch screen could be mapped to the motion input. I'd buy if it offered that option, as having to use extra controllers and attachments is just silly, I'd rather just pick-up, and play, away from my TV.
I remember playing and beating this on the NES. Interesting fact; there was planned a gameboy version of this game. It was not released but instead renamed and re-skinned as "ninja gaiden: shadow".
@sinalefa They are selling the codes on ebay already. Same with the codes from Mario Kart.
I wouldn't mind this if it wasn't for the poor physical rewards all year long.. and the choices of games being older. I feel if they had newer titles (Like the recent GBA virtual console titles), or perhaps one physical reward for those who want it, it would have been a bit better.
Without cross play, I don't see a reason to limit the WiiU version due to the 3DS's limitations. Hopefully, if sacrifices must be made, it will only impact the 3DS version, and not the WiiU version.

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Gets Its First Official Trailer, And It's Definitely Something
I would have preferred a full CG movie, the could have used the same cast to do voice work and kept the characters closer to their original designs.
