Re: Feature: Why We're Still Playing... Metroid Fusion

RetroRider

My favorite Metroid game.

I remember back when I first got my GBA we referred to this as the "spaceman game". I died and thought I beat the game, I showed the death scene to my brother and was like look she's wearing a bikini. Ooo bad decision with my mother in the room, I miss that game card

"There is no text other than name introductions, no speech, and no real character development other than the unimpressive cut-scenes."

...What kind of drugs was this reviewer taking? I'd just love to see him try and animate himself.

What would be even cooler:

When you bought a game for the console, the game case included 1 disc for the home system, and 1 catrige for the handheld extension, both the same game.

If you decide to play on the handheld, once you're done you can simply take out the carriage and insert it in another slot on the home system, and it saves your game data onto the console/disc.

Of course you could always choose which game's data you want to overwrite too.

Maybe I'm thinking too much and this could be done by plugging both systems in with a wire, or done wirelessly.

Re: Review: Kirby Mass Attack (Wii U eShop / DS)

RetroRider

@NintyMan Exactly, the minigames were my favorite part as well.

As for the gameplay, it gets pretty repetitive, and doesn't try too hard to do new stuff other than like a hot air balloon ride (from what I've played so far). I like the game, I just have had trouble getting into it. Got it in October brand new for $12 and have since then put it away in my drawer.

Also it's funny how the score of this game has dropped from a 9/10 to a 7. I've noticed this score-lowering with the other rereleases of DS titles on Wii U. Should have had them released on the 3DS eshop like the did with Wii games on Wii U.

Re: Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Makes Underwhelming Debut in Japan, Yet Wii U Hardware Shows Impressive Growth

RetroRider

They should have gave the handheld Mario rpg's a rest and saved a Paper Mario game for the Wii u or the NX, the Wii u hasn't seen any new Mario rpg's.

As for me I just got around to playing BiS, bought it at gamestop yesterday. But I can't say what my favorite M&L game is yet, I've played all but the new Paper Jam, and they really are all incredibly unique and exciting as each other in my eyes.

Re: Video: This is the Animal Crossing Wii U Game We'd Hoped For

RetroRider

Ahh sweet sweet Animal Crossing... I'VE ALWAYS HATED IT

I kid. But this guy- he really thought this out, simply amazing presentation. Really blows me away, you know he is really passionate about the series and therefore understands what could be improved on and adds his on little innovations. Love the letter idea on the gamepad.

"The gameplay is okay, but ultimately it's the beautiful animation that's ultimately memorable"

This is, ultimately, true.

When I played the mobile version of this a little while ago it was like sinking into a lion king-like game. Otherwise just pretty mediocre.

Re: Totaka's Song is in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

RetroRider

@KodyDawg @Shugo @allav866

"taka's Song first appeared in X – a shooter for the original Gameboy – as a hidden secret and ever since, it has become something of a tradition that it appears in nearly every game that he works on. "

Just read the article. K.K. Song is actually his recurring secret tune. K.K.'s initials actually stand for a similar spelling of Totaka's name, that's because K.K. Sliders is actually based off of Totaka himself.

Fun fact, this guy also voices Yoshi.
