Re: New Kid Icarus Awards Have Shown Up on My Nintendo in North America

RazorThin

I wish there were more interesting rewards and not just coupons and pictures/videos. Stuff like that was maybe cool 10-15 years ago. If I really wanted a Mario mobile wallpaper there are plenty to chose from on google. Physical rewards would be really great, like what Club Nintendo offered. Though I don't really remember Club Nintendo too much because I always never had enough points to get any cool rewards and the points always expired when I was saving them up for one of the more expensive rewards...

Re: Team Behind Wii U Emulator, CEMU, Makes Surprising Progress With Zelda: Breath of the Wild

RazorThin

I think emulation is okay if you own the games you're emulating. But that's not always the case with everybody else. Most people who emulate just download rom and iso files and play games for free on their cell phone or computer. I can garuantee that most people who are going to be playing Breath of the Wild on their computer won't actually be playing their own rips of the game. They just downloaded it online and play it for free.
Also why did they take money for development? That's going too far.

Re: Deals: Splash Your Rupees On This Amazing Legend Of Zelda Merchandise

RazorThin

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Oh I didn't know you actually used that "scamiibo" word of yours seriously. I thought just your little followers did that.
I don't see the problem with them since they're really nice models of popular Nintendo characters that offer optional content in games. The Wolf Link amiibo alone is worth more than any $14.99 map pack for any generic third party first person shooter.

Re: Editorial: On the Road With the Nintendo Switch

RazorThin

My only problem I have with taking mine portable is sometimes there's too much stuff to carry. I have a case that fits just my Switch but sometimes I take the grip and the charger and it can be kinda hard to bring around if I don't have my backpack. It's not a complaint, I just need to invest in a small bag that's easy to carry around.

Re: Guide: What Each Zelda amiibo Does In The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

RazorThin

When I was into the amiibo craze I didn't get the Link Smash Bros amiibo because I was focusing on getting all the rare ones first. Now that I hear it gives you Link's outfit from Twilight Princess I've frantically been searching for it and can't find one anywhere on store shelves. I've actually found all of the Breath of the Wild amiibo except for the Guardian but no Smash Bros Link. Oh well.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch Has Started Well - Now the Real Challenge Begins

RazorThin

I've got high hopes, mainly because I see a strong lineup of software. All the games that made their portable systems so popular they can make for the Switch. Imagine Pokémon on the big screen, then to take the Switch out and play on the go.
Also the loudest complaints I've been hearing about the Switch are mainly software related, and can easily be added or changed later. They've got enough time to get things in place before the holidays.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Says Nintendo is 'Fact-Finding' on Joy-Con Connection and Screen Scratching Issues

RazorThin

I do think the Joycon issue exists. I don't think the screen scratching issue exists. People are being irresponsible and maybe dropping their Switch into the dock too hard or not pulling it out right. I've pulled mine in and out of the dock and don't really see how the screen could get scratched. It is plastic inside but I don't see any scraping going on. A handful of people are saying they're having a problem, then people spread it around and it makes it seem like everybody is having a problem. It's unfortunate for those who are having issues but Nintendo can easily fix/replace those few Joycons or Switches. People are so quick to complain or judge especially when it comes to video games.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th March (Europe)

RazorThin

I'm super excited for the NEO GEO games that came out today (for us mericans, everybody else already has them). I don't want to blow all my money so I just bought Metal Slug, and it's as great as I remember it. I'm gonna try to buy the rest later but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is looming in the distance so I may save for that. Also Master Blaster looks great, though I've never played the original.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Says Services Like Netflix and Hulu "Will Come In Time" To Nintendo Switch

RazorThin

What I hope this means is that Nintendo is getting YouTube and Netflix to actually make decent apps for the Switch. The apps they made for Wii U weren't so great, not like it's a problem though because I just can watch everything on my Apple TV. Though yesterday I was thinking it would be nice if it had Netflix so I can just watch anything wherever I go, since my phone is small and I don't have a tablet.

Re: Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con Disconnection Woes Could Be Hardware-Related

RazorThin

Not saying the problem doesn't exist but, my joycons have given me zero problems. I performed the same test that GameXplain did like putting the left one behind your back or covering it while moving the joystick and no matter what it works perfectly fine for me and I couldn't replicate the issue. That does make it lean more towards hardware oriented but maybe it's only a few select consoles that are affected and Nintendo can simply do a recall on the models of left joycons that they figured out were affected. Its a problem for every new technology; computers, video game systems, TVs, the first iteration always has a few hiccups and then things start to even out later. The Xbox 360 had the red ring of death and ended up being incredibly successful. Even the PS3 had the yellow light of death which wasn't as apparent but still an issue. And a lot of problems with early disc based systems too from the 90s like the Sega CD/Mega CD. Anyways, my point is that it's definitely a shame for those who have the issue but not an end of Nintendo. They're only just getting started with the Switch and have a long ways to go.

Re: Nintendo's Share Value Shows Positive Momentum Following Successful Switch Launch

RazorThin

I remember when the Wii U came out and Nintendo believed the console could live on word of mouth and the fact that it has "Wii" in the title. They also did minimal advertising on some TV channels, mainly family ones like Disney and Cartoon Network but after a few months they pulled all their advertising because of the lackluster interest in the new console. I really like the advertising approach this time around with the Switch and their Twitter/Facebook/YouTube pages are pretty nice too. What my worry is that they'll decide that advertising isn't worth it and just let the system try to survive on its own which will be the downfall of it. People need to know Nintendo has a new console, they really need to sell it. I still remember the "Wii would like to play" ads from 10 years ago, friends family and even people who didn't play video games were taking about the console because of their large amounts of advertising for it. I see a bright future for Nintendo if they can try to push this console as much as they can.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Tackles Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch vs. Wii U

RazorThin

Remember a few years ago when Super Mario 3D Land was released and everybody was amazed at how a portable game could look so good? Well, today that is completely blown away by Zelda. Of course the game looks great but when I pull out my Switch and take it to go, it's truly incredible. To have a game of this caliber right in your hands anywhere blows my mind. I took it to work last night and played during my lunch and it was quite an experience. I know the Wii U version will be great too, but I think my Switch purchase is entirely worth it just for this game.

Re: Feature: Some of Our Favourite Legend of Zelda Games

RazorThin

Maybe a bit off topic from the article but, a part of me kinda wants there to be a lot of references in BOTW to other favorite Zelda games. I know there are some obvious ones like Wolf Link and the Temple of Time but I hope to see some more smaller ones you may not notice at first. Anywho, I bet BOTW is gonna be up there with TP for my favorites, looks like the perfect open world game for me.

Re: Video: Here's Your First Look At The Nintendo Switch eShop

RazorThin

I'm loving how slick and simple this new eShop is. I can see the similarities with the Wii U one but it's different enough to be it's own thing. What I always hated about the Wii U eShop is that looking through game screenshots in the eShop were always a pain but now it looks nice and simple.
