Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Version 1.2.0 Is Now Live

RazorThin

That item wheel spinning continuously was a big bother for me even back on the original MK8. And also I noticed that in deluxe items given to players towards last place were very bad. I'd always get one mushroom or one red shell, red shells should really stay away from being given at last place anyways. Glad all of this has been fixed.

Re: Feature: The (Sadly Fictional) Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch Fighter Ballot - Results!

RazorThin

Geno, Krystal should be at most assist trophies. (I mean come on Midna was made an assist in 4 and I find these characters to be of the same level)
Inklings, Waluigi, and Spring Man with Ribbon girl alt skin should be garuanteed.
Anything else, meh. If the next Smash is a port of 4 then don't expect any radical characters especially anything from Square Enix.
I think a long asked for mainline Nintendo character such as Waluigi and a character from one of Nintendo's recent IPs should be represented to make people interested in buying.

Re: Feature: The Nintendo Spotlight, Treehouse and Splatoon 2 Invitational Footage from E3 - Day One

RazorThin

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Most E3 presentations are filled with third party games to fill in the gaps because they don't have many first part games to announce. So since Nintendo isn't very third party centric they have to focus on their own IP and today was very impressive. Last year, which was a solid E3, just had one game shown and that was Zelda. This E3 had much more games, especially compared to past Wii U era E3s. Nintendo knows putting a Yoshi game will sell the console to Yoshi fans. Same with Kirby fans, Metroid fans, etc. I've noticed a lot of people ask specifically for the types of games that were shown today, and I can't think of anything else they're missing other than Star Fox. Opinions are neither right or wrong, I just don't understand your criticisms towards the presentation. And judging by your past comments I doubt they could have done anything to satisfy you.

Re: ARMS Will Adopt the Splatoon Model of Free Content Updates

RazorThin

@Yorumi I did read what you posted hence why I replied. You're not making much sense, Nintendo hasn't been hiding content on launch games. All maps/weapons were downloads in Splatoon. Mario Kart 8 had icons for more Grand Prix races and that was it. Sometimes companies leave extra bits of content they planned on using but decided to not finish. Just because there's an icon of a weapon or character in the game files doesn't mean it's fully functional.
And btw since you seem very aggressive for your strange complaint, it's not a "disc" it's a "game cartridge".

Re: ARMS Will Adopt the Splatoon Model of Free Content Updates

RazorThin

@Yorumi These free updates do many great things, most of which make the game fresh and desireable long after being released. Lots of online PC games do this, though it isn't as common on consoles. If any video game company just didn't release their game because they have endless amount of ideas to put in the game would never see the light of day. There's a point where the game needs to be released and they can add more via paid DLC or free.

Personally I love seeing games getting updated long after release, it shows the game company cares and doesn't just release a game and forget about it.

Re: Gawk at 'Classic Sonic' Dashing Through Green Hill Zone in Sonic Forces

RazorThin

Come on there are tons of just as recognizable stages from Sonic games they could update that would draw the nostalgic fanboy crowd. I mean it's understandable Green Hill Zone was in Generations, kinda looks meh in Mania, but come on again? There's at least Angel Island Zone and Palmtree Panic that could get some love too but oh well.

Re: Nintendo Has Discontinued The NES Classic Edition in North America

RazorThin

It'll probably be like the McRib, just come around as a seasonal/limited thing. My guess is that Nintendo will continue with the classic series of consoles and when there's a dry season of products (like this last Christmas) they will make more production. It's genius to do that because it'll make the product seem like it's always in demand whether they're selling it or not. They'll do the same with upcoming Snes mini and N64 mini and whatevers.

Re: Payday 2 Announced For Nintendo Switch

RazorThin

The game is super fun when you're playing with your friends, so it makes me wonder if the game will support local multiplayer through 4 Switch consoles so 4 players can play together in the same room. Would certainly make communication and gameplay very interesting.

Re: Review: The King of Fighters '94 (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)

RazorThin

I haven't played any KoF games, but each game looks kinda similar? I'm just wondering why they released 94 now after 98 when I hear 98 is the fan favorite of the series. I'm hoping for more obscure Neo Geo games in the future that I never got to play at my childhood pizzeria's Neo Geo arcade cabinet haha.

Re: First Impressions: Splatoon 2 - What We Learned About Weapons, Visuals and Controls

RazorThin

@Sonicaze I would say that it's less about resolution and more about pixel density these days. 1080p can look amazing on a screen but if it's a huge TV then it won't look very good. The Switch screen looks great because it's small enough where 720 or 1080 isn't really a large visible difference. 4K is gaining momentum because 1080p on a 80 inch TV looks like garbage, and also when you're sitting inches away from a computer monitor that 4K can give an advantage.

Re: First Impressions: Splatoon 2 - What We Learned About Weapons, Visuals and Controls

RazorThin

@Yorumi You're not wrong about p2p connections existing but you're wrong about paid subscriptions. Not every game on the Switch will use p2p. Some will use servers. Some won't. Call of Duty still uses that horrible lobby system instead of dedicated servers when Battlefield has been doing that for ages. The way Switch will play online depends on the developers, and what's Nintendo supposed to do? From the rumor price it's an incredible deal, and will market the Switch to an advantage compared to PS4 and Xbox One with their crazy priced subscription models. I already pay subscriptions for Photoshop and other services so I don't really care about an additional one for Switch online play.

Re: Has-Been Heroes Now Arriving in Europe on 4th April

RazorThin

Ignoring early negative reviews, I don't really know what the big deal about this game is. Nintendo has been kinda pushing it, even having a large section about it a couple months ago at their presentation. I saw that trailer when it came out and wasn't really impressed, it looked really shallow and more of a mobile title than a full fledged game.
