Re: Talking Point: The Super Mario Bros. Movie - What Are Your Favourite Moments?

The World 1-1 in the City, the Koopa sliding the coin with his foot, Big Bob-omb sitting on the green shell, Mario's family, Bowser's intro, Luigi's big move, Luigi outrunning the Drybones, Koopas in clown cars, Donkey Kong and Mario double-dashing, Todd's kart, Charles Martniet's cameos were way fun, Mario breaking the decoy-Boswer with his meteor smash.

Re: Sega Thinks Its "Super Game" Could Bank Over $600 Million USD

SuperGame is going to have an iconic title, and deep character creation, not just realistic people, and you can choose from a variety of world appearance that scales from realistic, retro, impressionistic, and fantasy elements. The game will mix platforming and world exploration with rpg leveling and resource management. You build a base, which can become a city where you can invite dynamic NPCs, simple NPCs, and human players to reside. You can farm resources, and collect items in the farthest reaches of the game world which has customizable terrain in areas you "own." You can increase the amount of space you own with certain in-game resources. The Super Game connects to a phone app that allows you to find certain in-game resources in the real world with either GPS, and redeem steps counted for a daily amount of blind-bags. You can level up areas of your base to level the effectiveness of your real-life exploring and step counting, which are also effected by time of day, proximity to certain locations, and distance from your last customizable "pin drop." You can mix and share music which is available in-game and in-app to share with friends and the community. Items earned in-app are some that you can't get in-game. Regular reeases of new skins are released. The main game has exploration, combat arenas, farming communities, racing tracks, temple-exploring, a massive loot-system, and new and old hidden legends, secrets, exploits, and mechanics.

@PKDuckman Obviously, they're not. In the Bayonetta 3 article, Hellena was offered $4-12K depending on the source for voice acting a third game in a $450M IP. The CEO or someone is getting overpaid. Must be, if the main character is getting snubbed. Split a thousand ways, profit should be almost half a Mil. Probably weren't 600 people on that project. A CEO woth plates to spin should be making 3x-5x more than an entry level. Giive or take. My opinion is that salary-class jobs like CEO that take up more of your life, should grant more pay. Not 13x more (like you were saying). We agree on that, yeah? I think CEOs are supposed to represent a company, but the overpaid ones loose touch with the plight of the working employees when they have a totally different (high-pay) life styles. Worst ones are the ones who think they're that much better than the other workers.

Re: Talking Point: Given The Voice Artist Controversy, Will You Be Boycotting Bayonetta 3?

I wasn't going to buy because of the disrespectfully-handled religious iconigraphy. Jennifer Hale responded well, though. That said, $4Kusd seems like a low-ball. I mean, what's Anthony Kiedis make off a 30 minute album as lead of the RHCP? He IS the band; look at RHCP's temp-guitarist Josh Klinghoffer's first (self-volcalized) solo album for a sales comparison against an album with most of the same musicians and a 'new' voice. So, if sales of RHCP are contingent on Kiedis, he gets what percentage? How much should Hellena Taylor make? Looks like 'the Bayonetta band' found a new lead vocalist because the video game voice actor isn't the musician vocalist. Also, looks like Scream 6 won't cast Neve Campbell, who was formerly lead all five times. Seems like the companies replace talent like Taylor (or Campbell) but other members of 'the team' are making a LOT MORE. If the members of 'the team' are producing a game in a $450M franchise? If 1,000 people made that product, should be $450K a piece, right? You think it took 1,000 people to make the last two games? You think the members of the group in question split it up respectively? Kinda looks like Platinum is a "bad band" and Hale is a scab. But what do I really know? Nadda. And Platinum wants to keep it that way. I wonder why.

In my experience, Unions are another middle man shaking you down for cash paycheck to paycheck and delivering indeterminate results while destributing funds to (in sone cases) dubious political affiliates. Again, not my opinion, actual experience. Another experience: the good and legal union-busting of having random large sums and free elevensies dropped on you biweekly is safe.

@ChickenJoe (Love Surf's Up btw) You sure cut to the chase. Abuse of an employee by a company is in my case a strawman argument: I'm not here to suggest a contractor of company do a thing; every place I contract has the information available--they want to adust or remove abuse, trust me. It is and should be reported, following the worker's report to immediate management, notwithstanding a COI.
I worked for a group last year where the tech was breaking daily---daily. The support staff was on it like lightning to ensure production stayed up. When something was fully borked, you'd hear an explosion, hear about an injury, or you'd get post reminding you that counselors were on the insurance. We had locations where if you stepped in the wrong place, you were fired, because we had places where if you stepped in the wrong place you would be disfigured or fatally wounded. I met the CEO at an all-staff physical. He was a machine himself. I spoke one sentence for every 100 he said. At the most. Out of respect. Answered all his questions about me. With prompt answers. I was promoted to just under the top position of a pivotal department where there had been mistakes made before. That CEO was my new boss' boss. They were explicit that no information on company production be mantioned outside the compound bar none. Even from loved ones. We were paid well for silence, which I am proud to have kept. It wasn't because of the deaths. Everyone in the company town knows about those. It was because of the competition. Never ever tell people what your company is doing to succeed. This person in the article did talk. Worse, on the internet. Contractees you cannot trust are worthless. This was absolutely the fault of the employee, and the employee is too enitled and arrogant to see. Our social titles among our peers and leadership are under constant negotiation. You are what you say and do, and all you are is the value you provide to other people. If one can't deal that, then one has no business being on contract. TL;DR, don't vent status or procedures online, cope by gaming to relax instead. You're on NL, so I know you follow my meaning, friend. Thanks for the reply. Have a good one.

Sounds like a rightful termination of a squirrelly entitled employee. Imagine trying to attatch your name to a CEO from a Q and A! You're lucky if you ever see them of the board. They don't want you to BE fired. They want you to run and climb. CEOs are hard-working (and hard-headed). You know "how many of you" they see come and go? Until you're up the echelon a little further, you're nothing to them. If somebody is dumb enough to spill the company beans, they will cut you off like a hangnail. I've seen it a dozen times. Don't breach a contract and expect a bread reward.

Side note, calling people 'they' in an article is vague when taking it in. Why not just use the claimant's last name like the papers always have?

Re: Chris Pratt Has Seen The Super Mario Movie Teaser, Says He's "Blown Away"

PoorGeno

@iaLgan I don't think I'm smarter than you, friend, just more critical. Jurassic World 3's weakness was it's tangential and poorly written script. Giant bugs? Ian's final line to the antagonist was only saved by Goldblum's masterful delivery. The chaos/numberpad scene was a brilliant idea but totally mishandled for tension and comedy. Claire getting a rope tied around her foot felt forced, and the ensemble "recognizing eachother" dialogues were plain and uninspired, or downright socially unlikely. A genetically modified teenager living in hiding can recognise grant from the lapel of one of his books? Come on. No way.

Also, Sonic 2 was nanners. Half of it was refferences to the first half. The other half was a wedding between two non-characters that vastly overstayed it's welcome. It was practically bad on purpose.

Both movies were not fully bad, but neither was "good" in my estimation. Kind of like The Last Jedi. Nuggets of value, only, where quality should conceivably have been FAR more plentiful. Absolutely squandered, wasted opportunities, and I'm sick of being a no one who could have delivered a better final product myself.

Re: Illumination's Super Mario Movie Reconfirms Release Date, Teaser Coming Next Month

"Minions" was ...crazy. I saw part of it at a volunteer event. I've seen "Sing" a ton because of a class I worked in. So Sing grew on me, and "Sing 2" was good so I watched "Despicable Me" and that was good, too. I think they're gonna pull off a good movie. I think it'll look good, too.
Hopes:
-lots so sets with moving parts
-tons of goombas
-credits better be "Do the Mario"
-Wario and Waluigi were born to be animated by Illumination
-Mario must jump on a Minion as intro
-a new powerup, it does something so cool it ends up in the next game
-work Mariokart into the story
-yeah, that's all, but I wish we see Geno

The timing for when Miyamoto mentioned the shirt was weird, unless it was actually a way he got around "the board" telling him no new details. It's a greet pikmin, with a nose like a red, so we know it's not a water type. I think green's the new kind. I suspect Olimar's family will be the characters this time. He has a wife and two kids. Pictured? His daughter (who, yeah, looks a lot like Brittany, but whatever). Okay, theory over and out.

I got 'em. They're the same height as my Minecraft figures if you count the trophy-base. Seem sturdy. Nice and appealing. I like that from a decent distance away, they're clearly Steve and Alex. The colour choices were smart from a sales-item standpoint in that case. Funny compared to Byleth who's ultra detailed, but I think the Steve and Alex Amiibos look great.
