No, I'm not being these kinds of Switch ports anymore. It'll look muddy and run badly on Switch. I can have a way better experience playing it on my PC or Steam Deck.
It's well known to console collectors that doing this will only work short-term and will eventually screw up your cartridges and consoles due to corrosion.
In any case I've never even had any problems with the Switch not reading cartridges, even on my launch-day model, so the thought of doing this never even came to my mind.
@SpacedDuck That's a bit of a pipe dream right now, it would have to be even larger and heavier than a Steam Deck for that. Nintendo is also unlikely to go after top of the line performance with their next system.
@acNewUpdates No idea. I would have said maybe the localization takes a bit more time, but the US version even seems to have all the European languages included.
Eh, I don't see why anyone would care or even get angry as it doesn't harm anyone. Plenty of Zelda-likes around and some even end up being pretty good, like Ittle Dew. Though this one looks more mediocre than that.
The point about Nintendo games is kinda funny as when you think about it the Deck can play more Nintendo games than the Switch. The Switch's retro library is quite limited, while the Steam Deck can play/emulate pretty much everything from the NES to even quite a few Switch games.
Still love my Switch, but I assume the Steam Deck will take up most of my gaming time for the foreseeable future, unless there is some big new Nintendo release. It's just nice to not have to rebuy indie games just to have them portable. Also let's be honest, the Switch hardware is really showing its age at this point.
@Entrr_username To be fair, they even recently ported one of their games (Horizon Zero Dawn) to PC, so it looks like they're becoming more open to other platforms. Besides, this kind of cameo will only manage to promote their exclusive games, so no reason for them not to do it really.
That's really cool to see. Really don't get how people could be against this, as it really doesn't hurt anyone, financially or otherwise. Modding is also very much legal in my country at least, if it isn't in yours I really don't give a damn.
IMO that most likely just means that games which do come over will be handled by separate publishers and not level-5 themselves. This has already been the case for many of their games, like Yokai Watch.
Installed it, realized it was just a worse mario kart with gacha elements, stopped playing. A few months later got annoyed by the game bugging me with notifications so I uninstalled it.
I have the Japanese version. It's not bad, but there are better rhythm games on Switch IMO such as Taiko no Tatsujin. Sega also got a bit stingy with the song selection considering it's basically a future tone port.
While I don't have any opinion on the actress (and don't even know anything about her) the only thing I could think of when reading was... don't even think about making an animal crossing live-action adaptation. Please. I can think of few franchises that are less well-suited to a hollywood movie and this could only end badly.
@chriscare Except it's really not comparable. Nintendo released an expensive device and later lowered the price. In this case Psionix/Epic significantly raised the price of in-game items long after the original release only to then lower it somewhat while still being a fair bit above what these items originally cost.
Call me cynical but this just seems like it was the intention all along. Starting at ridiculous prices only lower them a little later so it doesn't seem so bad to people. Too many game publishers making "mistakes" like this recently for it to be a coincidence. Very shady and manipulative practice.
The trick was to make him look like Sonic. Who knew? But seriously, I still have no plan of watching it as Live-Action Sonic was never a good idea to begin with.
After the NES Mini situation, this became kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. No matter how large the initial supply was, the scalpers would have immediately bought as many as they could in the anticipation of making a profit. It's a difficult situation for Nintendo and the retailers to handle. Had they announced an exact time for all shops it would have sold out even quicker. Most retailers already limited the quantity to 1 per person, and this is about all they can do.
Not sure which one I prefer tbh. The problem with the Switch version is that it makes the lack of detail in models and backgrounds that much more obvious. It makes some of the environments look flat and empty. It's understandable being a 3DS port of course, but still, it could look a little better.
@dadajo Everything that someone creates is copyrighted unless that person explicitely states otherwise. That also applies to memes. So, if they haven't asked for permission for every single meme in the game, I'd say copyright infringement is a likely reason for the removal.
@MrRight Looks like you are the one not knowing what you are talking about. Nintendolife is European. British to be exact. Click on "contact" if you don't believe me. And no, its purpose is not just to report about US releases, but everything Nintendo related, in all regions. Not everyone visiting this site is American either, including me, so your comment is frankly just ignorant.
@MrRight This is a Japanese release, so the better translation doesn't apply here at all. Sound was a lot worse and the GBA has a lower screen resolution.
@AlexSora89 Nintendo uploaded the wrong trailer (probably an early version without music). The trailer does have music on the developer's youtube channel and obviously the game itself will have music too.
What I don't understand is why aren't they letting us install the game from the disc? A download seems unnecessary when all the files are located on the disc and could be copied to the harddrive from there.
That CGI has really aged horribly, though I can't imagine this looked good even when it was originally released. I don't see how anyone would buy this, except for maybe nostalgia reasons.
Regular new 3DS for me, the cover plates are cool and in general I prefer the design with the super nintendo-colored buttons. Also, not to be evil, but it being not available in the US makes it feel more "special" somehow.
@Kaze_Memaryu Can you read? He didn't "lock" anything, playing pirated 3DS games is just utterly impossible with this type of exploit. For piracy, there would have to be an exploit allowing access to the kernel. No need to lock it. And if you don't like homebrew, fine, but why would you care about other people using it?

Re: Splatoon 3 Players Labelled "Cheaters" For Abusing Special Weapons
@GameOtaku The difference is obviously between multiplayer and Singleplayer. Nobody cares about cheating in a Singleplayer game.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 24th)
Already finished Beacon Pines (on PC though). Highly recommend it, it's a captivating game with great art.
I'll probably have a go at Slime Rancher 2 this weekend, and play some more Deathloop. Probably a few rounds of Splatoon 3 as well.

Re: Bandai Namco Releases Switch Demo For Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival
I think you should mention that this is only the US release. Got all excited until I found out it won't launch in Europe till October 14th.
Re: Valve's Steam Client Beta Adds Support For Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Controllers
@steventonysmith 2 hours and up, just like the original Switch. Screen is fine, though obviously not as good as an OLED.
Re: Exclusive: 'Onsen Master' Is A Potent Mix Of Overcooked And Spirited Away
@4RT_D3CO Probably Spirittea which has basically the same premise but more Stardew Valley like gameplay (and IMO a much better visual style).

Re: Random: Accurate Portrayal Of Famous Statues Send Animal Crossing Fans Wild
Should certainly be entertaining seeing some of the more conservative Americans react to this.

Nice and all but I don't think I would ever spend that much money on a figure - even if I was rich.

Re: Video: Here's Footage Of Bandai Namco's Digimon Survive Coming To Switch
Beautiful artstyle, but kinda disappointing it's more menu/point&click based instead of having a truly explorable world.
Re: Yo-Kai Watch 4 Coming To The Nintendo Switch This Year In Japan
The 3DS games really pushed the system to its limits graphically, I'm excited to see how it will look on the Switch.

Re: The OJO Aims To Be The First Dedicated Nintendo Switch Projector
Nice concept, but any info about its resolution is suspiciously absent. Probably not good, considering its size.
