Re: Countdown: 3DS eShop Spotlight - Rhythm Heaven Megamix

@EarthboundBenjy Streamers playing it which of course means used copies online would suddenly sky rocket in price which makes me feel anguish. I already have my copies of the DS and Wii entries since they released back then but still I hate to see that happen to series I care about.

The localization of this game was absolutely weird. Remix 1, 2 and 3 and the credits had vocals in the Japanese version but they did not bother making English vocals for Remix 1, 3 and the credits (Remix 2 was already in English) and instead replaced the vocals with bad synthesized instruments. I'm thankful the game had a dual audio option although Bosa Nova Japanese voice lines were not in the game for some reason. The game also got shadow released during E3 2016 and it was such a lovely surprised but at the same time a big slap in the face that it was eShop only in North America.

It's so bitter sweet it took until 2020 for the series to gain a new wave of fans since I think what affected certain localization decisions in the past was because fan support wasn't large enough in Nintendo's eyes.

@SwagaliciousJohnson Yooka Laylee failed only because Playtonic are a bunch of disingenuous pandering has-beens that don't know what made Banjo Kazooie so good to begin with. Did you know they gave this dumb excuse as to the reason they never made Banjo-Threeie because they thought there wasn't an audience for it on Xbox... because Grabbed by The Ghoulies didn't sell too well. They then made Nuts and Bolts, talked about how proud they are of the project only to turn around during the Yooka Laylee Kickstarter about how much of a bad idea it was :/

It may not be my favorite 3D Mario game but I absolutely love how Mario controls. Though one thing that always bugged me since when I was a kid was how obtuse it was to unlock Corona Mountain. There's like no hint at all on the requirements and when you do find out you realize how all of the side shine sprites that aren't the first 7 missions in each level are completely worthless.

Re: Sega Wants To Take "Good Care" Of 2D And 3D Sonic In The Future

The issue with 3D Sonic is Sonic Team has always been them being too afraid to stick to a formula and try to refine it. I've given Sonic Heroes a try a few weeks back for the first time and I enjoyed it a fair bit. It has plenty of flaws but it's something that could've been improved if they tried to do more with it in one more game. Sadly they stripped away the team mechanic and decided to run with the mission structure in the game Shadow The Hedgehog only to abandon that and horribly botch the adventure style in Sonic 06 a year later...
