@IceEarthGuard Well a few years ago Nintendo were exposed with making a deal with Twitch in exchange for them banning Project M (Super Smash Bros. Brawl Mod) from being streamed on their site. In the end Nintendo didn't contribute their end of the bargain despite Twitch doing exactly what they wanted.
I will say the amount of marketing work put behind this remake has been unbelievable to say the least. Like the amount of effort is on the tier of a mainline Zelda release at this point
@Novamii TTYD is a major step up in almost every way indeed. Though it's just my preference, I still think the first game has the best chapter in the entire series (Chapter 7).
Anybody remember how the US marketing team for TTYD back then were 100% silent about everything after chapter 2? I always found that to be odd when the Japanese marketing team wasn't afraid of showing stuff up until chapter 6.
@nhSnork You can make a DMCA claim for anything as long as you own the IP in question and the legal team to back you up. Nintendo and Game Freak can go on a power trip and decimate anyone on Youtube that makes videos featuring their IPs if they wanted and nobody could stop them
@Thomystic I don't mean to be rude but did anybody really asked for the side modes in the Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story remakes? I didn't play Bowser Jr.'s Journey but I really did not like Bowser's Minions at all.
@DwaynesGames I don't remember if it was Reggie or Bill Trinen but one of them said it was never the "controversial content" in the game that was stopping Nintendo from localizing it. It's most likely the music breaking copyright laws outside of Japan. Before you bring up Earthbound, that game's music fits in an IP law loophole.
Rhythm Heaven DS would have to be heavily reworked Megamix can function easily so long as they find a way to display the timing feedback that the touchscreen is used for in that game
@Yozora146_ Wow you lack so much nuanced in this situation. Do you not understand how the legal system works when it comes to the little guy vs a big company? This was a lose-lose situation because Yuzu devs were going to be stun locked into bankruptcy if they chose to fight Nintendo's legal team.
I highly doubt it was about the Patreon. Otherwise Nintendo themselves would've stated that instead of blaming them over people downloading Tears of The Kingdom when people don't only use emulators to play games they don't own since software and hardware console modding is a thing
It also wasn't smart to get Arzest to make this game but that's just my opinion. I don't think the game is bad but it was still a disappointment in my book
@Friendly Sony cares about their old games... it's just that the ones they care about are titles they don't own which include Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy 7, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro trilogies. All of their legacy titles they actually own they seem to not really care much about except maybe Ratchet & Clank and God of War.
@Clyde_Radcliffe ....Microsoft did not ruin Rare... they let them make whatever games they wanted. Only thing Microsoft was guilty of was not hiring new talent after most of the staff that was there before the buyout left the company.
Btw Rare refused to make a Banjo Threeie because they thought there wasn't an install base for it on the Xbox due to Grabbed by The Ghoulies not selling well.
@KeeperBvK I meant "only other" Sorry was tired last night and posted that without proofreading. Anyways the first one in question was Night Trap, the game that seemed to be a bit of a punching bag here back when it was announced that game was getting a HD remaster.
@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot Oh wow same story for me even with the younger sibling part.
For some reason it feels like this game's difficulty and level design never gets mentioned at all especially for it's tendency to be very slow and tedious late game with way too much stopping and waiting.
@Bolt_Strike Microsoft didn't stop Rare from making what they wanted afaik though. If they did I'm pretty sure former Rare employees would've spoken up about that by now.
Remember guys: Rare actively chose to not make a Banjo Threeie on Xbox because they thought there wasn't an install base for that game.... they base their reasoning off of Grabbed By The Ghoulies not selling well.
Sure Grabbed By The Ghoulies might've did better on the Gamecube but I cannot imagine it would've been that huge of a difference.
I have still yet to play either of their games. I'm fine with A Hat in Time being the only 3D platform game I'll play (at least until Billie Bust Up releases)... Though it's interesting to know Impossible Lair seems to have a bit of a cult following in this community since it seems to not get talked about anywhere else.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Pre-Orders Are Now Being Cancelled (US)
Strange for this one. There's not really much interest at all for this title
Re: Summer Game Fest Will Return To Los Angeles In June 2025

Re: Konami Promises To Continue Improving Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1

Re: Sonic Team On Remasters: "If There's A Title People Like, We'll Think About It"
@vio I wouldn't say "awful". It's just a very bare bones game.
Re: Sonic Team On Remasters: "If There's A Title People Like, We'll Think About It"
I think Sonic Unleashed probably makes the most sense

Re: Nintendo Switch "Successor" Announcement Is Coming "This Fiscal Year"
I cannot imagine the reveal will be during the early part of 2025. It has to be late 2024 we'll see the reveal just like with the Switch

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library With Two More Titles
I'd complain that it's a couple of obscure titles but I still haven't gotten the expansion pass for NSO and I'm in no mood to get it still
Re: Rayman Is Getting A Brand New Board Game Later This Year
I hate how much this series has stagnated after such a promising revival

Warioware Twisted would be the game that would actually make this enticing. At least GBA emulators support gyro controllers

@strongest_link Well tbf the 3D feature was something the last 3rd of the 3DS era kinda dropped or had it as an afterthought

Re: Nintendo Sets Its Sights On Switch Emulator Yuzu In New Lawsuit

I remember the difficulty curve being a bit dumb in the later levels in the GBA original so Casual Mode is a welcomed addition.
