@gloom It actually came up fairly recently not long after Todd Rogers was exposed about the fact that the high scores he supposedly set on a number of Atari games were faked.
Oh it's a good sequel then. I was worried I made a bad move by buying this out of impulse (haven't played it yet) since I enjoyed the original game on the DSi.
Well on paper it shouldn't be that hard for these guys to figure out how to port this game to the Switch and I wouldn't mind purchasing the first game again along with the upcoming sequel on the system. But dang a few people here are being a bit unfairly dismissive towards this game just because of Sonic Mania. I've enjoyed Sonic Mania as well but I want to play other fast paced 2D platformers too of course.
@WhiteTrashGuy I have and it was one of my favorite games to play on my iPhone. Though it's just not the same without the analog controls that were in the original release but it's certainly miles better than the other HD releases of course.
Chibi Robo being on fire is a sad but true representation on what happened to his franchise. Nintendo "burned" him by not marketing the first two games and not localizing the third one followed by making throwaway titles that play nothing like the earlier entries in the series.
@Pod They also did that during the E3 2011 conference when Iwata announced that Sakurai's next game after his team finished Kid Icarus Uprising was going to be Smash 4. It really bugs me to this day people were expecting a trailer for Smash 4 in E3 2012 even though the game was barely in development at that point. But hey those certain fans of Smash Bros. have always been this obnoxiously impatient.
Whoa this is indeed huge to say the least. It's amazing to see how absolutely wrong all of the people who doubted the Switch are. Now let's see if Nintendo can manage to keep the momentum going for 2018.
It would be kinda cool to see a new game that is similar to Majora's Mask in terms of the time limit structure while being side quest heavy that included the memorable NPCs along with the freedom you got in Breath of The Wild.
Nice that the guys at Wayforward are just about finished with this game. It seems like it was yesterday when the Kickstarter campaign was going on and it was being overshadowed by Mighty No.9. I wonder what would be next for the Shantae series.
@GoldenGamer88 Actually I'd like to argue that Mario Party 3 boards went on the longest. That game really focused on items and events that make the turns much longer with the item spaces, battle spaces, gameguy spaces, board events, ect.
When you put this game side by side with A Hat in Time, this game looks less interesting now as a indie 3D platformer game. Ehh maybe I'll still get it sometime down the road.
@AlternateButtons The only valid complaint for Sonic Forces is how linear the stages seem to look while Colors and Generations had plenty of branching pathways in each stage.
@Biff_ARMStrong ...Well instead of appearing like THAT kind of Nintendo fan that is stuck in the past when there was a rivalry with Sega, explain to me WHY you think Sonic Colors and Generations are bad games. The camera complaint is irrelevant because it's only annoying when you are trying to move back which is something you don't really do often.
@frogopus I don't know man. From my understanding the game industry in Japan do not care for these controversies. If anything it would be Nintendo of America who would care (look at some of their questionable localization changes) but I don't think they have the last say for the Creators Program. It is clearly money related since they have been using the content ID system to claim monetization for quite a while now.
@Smash_kirby Are people freaking out over A Hat In Time because JonTron is a voice actor for the game? No one is so I highly doubt anyone would somehow connect whatever a streamer would say to Nintendo. This is clearly about money plain and simple.
Ha! You think us 3DS hackers are scared, Nintendo? People already found a hardware exploit that can install custom firmware on ALL 3DS's and it CANNOT be patched!
@Samwise7 ...Honestly I have no idea where to begin. I have a feeling we'll both be wasting our time going back and forth arguing over not just this game but everything else you have mentioned. All I have to say is Japan doesn't care about whatever agenda you or people that share your ideas are trying to push and I'm thankful for that.
Besides the two obvious IPs that are overdue for new main series entries, I'd really like to see a new Wario Land game and I guess a new Chibi Robo that's actually like the first game and the Japan only DS game (yes I know there's a fan translation for it). Also Gamecube Virtual Console on the Switch would be nice.
I really hate these developers with a burning passion. Yoshi's Island DS was a mediocre game but at least they try to create some sort of plot despite how ridiculous the whole thing was. Yoshi's New Island was just dull in every single way and the whole plot was the biggest insult you can ever do to your fans.
@brandonbwii I find it hard to believe people wouldn't buy it over a cameo of all things would be greater than the people condemning Playtonic for making this paranoid decision. Besides I'm not sure about the rich black committing more crimes than poor whites thing but I certainly believe blacks in general commit more crimes than any other race in the US and before you say anything, I'm Hispanic and my parents have told me about the many times they've been targeted by blacks growing up.
@faint How would a opinion that has nothing to do with the company matter that much? Playtonic shouldn't be concerned with this controversy in the first place unless it was an attack on them. But anyway Yooka Laylee from what I've seen looks bland so I wasn't that interested in buying it.
@brandonbwii Look I don't get how Jontron being in it would hurt sales in the first place. What matters is the QUALITY of the game and that kind of logic you are going with is the reason why Playtonic is getting backlash.
@River3636 Flashcarts are not the best option for hacking a 3DS anyway. If anything happens to the SD Card Gateway might think something has been tampered with and brick the 3DS. I'm not even kidding.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Is Already Thinking About Bayonetta 4
May as well if Nintendo is gonna keep funding it.
Re: Donkey Kong Scorekeeper Rubbishes Billy Mitchell's Claims Of Fabricated Footage
@Bunkerneath It's significant because he was supposedly the first one to break 1 million points in Donkey Kong.

Re: Hackers Get Linux Running On Switch And Claim Nintendo Can't Patch The Exploit
@Radbot42 If it's a hardware flaw like with what happened to the 3DS last year, then there's nothing Nintendo can do.
Re: Nintendo Has Plans For More Switch Peripheral Hardware
I still want Joy Cons that have a GameCube controller button layout.

Re: Switch's Second Year Will Be "Crucial" Says Nintendo President
Continuing the same steady pace of first party games is all they need to do to keep up the success and it seems likely that may be their plan.

Re: Rumour: SEGA And Retro-Bit Might Actually Be Working On A Secret Retro Console
A Dreamcast mini would be cool. I wonder if they do make one would Crazy Taxi 1 and 2 be possible additions because of all the licensing in that game.

Re: Review: Yooka-Laylee (Switch eShop)
I'm fine with playing A Hat in Time. I rather not play a game that misses the point of what it's trying to be a spiritual successor of.
Re: Review: MUJO (Switch eShop)
@Octane Sad when you think about how these guys probably worked on Chibi Robo. Talk about how the mighty have fallen.
Re: WayForward Reveals a New Trailer for its Next Shantae Expansion
@FrankoAmmo Because the DLC was a stretch goal that was reached during the game's Kickstater campaign.

I'm mad that Dungeon Duos isn't in this game. That was like the best minigame in Mario Party 4.

@Samwise7 "Fat shaming"? C'mon man it's just a silly little throwaway game. No need to get angered over something so harmless.
Re: Check Out a New NES Game - Amazon's Running Diet
Well they needed something to happen for the Game Over screen. The game looks really limited but the sprite quality looks nice at least.
Re: A Nintendo 64 Die Hard Prototype Has Been Preserved
I'm still hoping the rom for Conker's Twelve Tales gets released one day.
