My main palate cleanser is some modded Minecraft, I know the vanilla gameplay loop inside and out and modded is just more interesting to me.

I was always going to get this but this just makes it even more certain!

I don't know as I've not beaten Ganondorf yet.

My games go either in piles of boxes or drawers. My books are the bigger problem though.

@Serpenterror Dreamworks don't own Wallace and Gromit, that's Aardman Animation. Megamind is there in one of the screenshots.

I have to appreciate "faster than British Prime Ministers". We've had 3 in the past year.

That some enemies can dissolve constructs. It certainly made for a nasty surprise.

I managed 23869pts which is not bad for not having played the game for ages. Landmarks helped, I could see towers and occasionally Naboris.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is the one that immediately comes to mind.

My preparation is simply to avoid playing similar games. That way I can experience it without comparing it to other games. Those other games would probably come off worse, but still...

Could be hockey... If we're going by shape, then it resembles a hockey stick hitting a ball. Before anyone lambasts me, non-ice hockey does exist.

@Picola-Wicola I'll suggest Hades as it is a great game, and it can easily be picked up again later down the line.

The demo for Dragon Quest 11 is what got me to buy it and love it. Ideally, a demo shows enough of a game's opening hours with tutorials to allow you to know whether the game is for you. So I'd say the best length is 2 hours minus tutorials.

Personally, I only got the Switch in 2018 so I have to nominate that as the best year as it's when I was introduced to all the great games.

I tend to use a Kindle while travelling if it's long enough to need multiple books. I don't really play games while travelling, I might miss my stop as a result.

Of course, the problem then becomes that if they're not powering success, what are our little beliefs and superstitions becoming? Verruca Gnomes?

For me, it's always modded Minecraft. A fresh experience that's familiar enough to not consume too much energy.

Outer Wilds. Dark Bramble is creepy and those anglerfish are terrifying. I've not explored the Stranger enough to get there but I've heard there are similar things there.

Personally of all the things shown off last time in the Caves and Cliffs announcement, archaeology was the most interesting aspect for me. So I hope it'll make a return so I can set up my own museum...

@abdias They were basically already doing that what with the Horizon Forbidden West bundle being practically the only way to get a PS5.

I feel like if there was an evil team, there are two approaches to progression, one is to have none and every member can be tackled at any time, another is to encounter members in a specific order regardless of where you are, once you've defeated everyone you can infiltrate their base and defeat the boss.

I loved Sunless Sea and I was unaware of there being a sequel to it. I'll have to get that one day.

For me, it was BotW. I quickly grabbed a few older Zelda games to be fair. I've played through Ocarina on 3DS, a bit of Windwaker via the local Museum of Computers having a playable Gamecube. I've gotten all the ones available on Switch of course.

If I had to choose, I'd go for the Europe version. Link and the King of Red Lions are much more defined against the background.

I've supported them as I loved Chapter One and frankly they probably need all the help they can get.

I'm not really a video game collector(yet), I'm more Wilderness Years Doctor Who books. If I had to pick a favourite object, it would probably be my copy of Super Mario Odyssey because it was the very first Switch game I ever got and I've put plenty of hours into this game. Although when BotW 2 launches, I will definitely get the Collector's Edition.

I am looking forward to this game especially after enjoying Chapter One.

@ZZalapski The one person I had most trouble with is Maba, I knew his cause of death but not his name. He was one of the last people who didn't survive that I figured out, mainly through comparing tattoos and process of elimination.

People do eat Appletun, they peel off slices from it's body as snacks.

The traversal seems rather disjointed almost, moves don't seem to flow well with each other. That boost sound is definitely going to get annoying too. In open world games, traversal is key.

The building is probably a Pokécenter of sorts, it seems to have 3 people for 3 different things, one for shopping, the other for healing and the last I'm not sure about.

How many copies did Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 sell? There doesn't seem to be a figure.

Well I only got it in 2018, in 2017 I instead got a 3ds for some reason. My Switch is still holding up but issues with eshop abound. But those were always there.

That seems like an opening intro tutorial. You get your room to explore and investigate but when you eventually turn on the tv you get sucked into Hisui.

This sounds really fun. It all depends on how the mystery is constructed though.

I haven't played this year very much in comparison to 2020, Hades took up 120 hours or so of nearly 300. However, where the rest of my time has went is into Hitman 3 on PC, 328 hours...

Subtitles are new on this? They should be standard on all releases. At least they're there now.

Something I can beat in a day so under 10 hours or so, given how little spare time I have.

I'll be grabbing it eventually but I'll wait until Christmas because I have a rule of 1 game per month and Doctor Who Edge of Reality will be that game and next month will be Sherlock Holmes Chapter One. Basically I look forward to playing it eventually but I have other games to play in the meantime.

Well at least I'm not the only one that doesn't really drink water. Instead of Coke Zero I live on apple juice.
