I'd like to see some cult classics make an unlikely reappearance, literally anything like a Splinter Cell trilogy, a port of Super Mario Strikers/Charged, Conduit, TimeSpliters, Shenmue etc etc. The Switch has been an underutilised home of second chances from the 360/PS3 era where some developers dissolved before their last games could save them. A perfect example being Pandemic Studios/The Saboteur or Eurocom/GoldenEye 007: Reloaded to give those great dev's a possibility of resurrection. It has so far worked wonders for Volition putting Saints Row/Red Faction on the Switch when they were on the brink
@Gamer_Zeus I completely agree. The momentum has been lost, pre-orders cancelled, and my experience with LA Noire was that R* pulled the plug early printing and stocking them at retailers, and that was released in a totally playable state at the same time as other platforms. It wouldn't be a surprise to see them cancel the physical, it's an expectation sadly
The fact they are racing to get it fixed before the physical release highlights how important physical releases are. internet era gaming (streaming, patches, downloads) has a lot of benefits, but a few of those are for problems which itself created
If something is worth doing, it is worth doing right, or not at all. I would have preferred them releasing the PS2 originals rather than prematurely releasing a mess of a remaster
Main two reasons were having a physical box to add to my switch collection and resale value if I ever decide to sell it. In fairness I could also have waited to buy it when the price drops, which I considered, but when I did that with LA noire the shops stopped restocking it here, and I wanted to show some support for gta on switch too 👍
Does this mean there will be a code in the box for the two other games?
As long as it is a download like LA Noire I will still buy, not ideal, but better than a code for resale value
'Gamers' are one of the most fickle consumer groups, wait until Nintendo add to it some more games, as they have promised, and all of a sudden it will be 'how it should have been at release'
Finally completed it. It is flawed but in the end I simply didn't care as you can't hire more staff to replace the dead ones and City Hall'a punishments make it even worse, to the point you either have 3 cops working or just use a walkthrough to get to the credits. It is a really hard game to play correctly, but is far more linear than a strategy game ever should be, and as a result is painstakingly easy & tedious when you realise being a good 'chief of police' doesn't actually matter (as long as you stop city hall's investigations through bribing)
I have a serious back log but I am salivating at this holiday release schedule with Metroid, Pokemon, Mario Rabbids and Advance Wars, and oh yeah, MP Superstars. If only I could stop time to play more of my backlog, I'll never get to Pikmin 3 at this rate
I just assumed the Switch edition was always going to cost more or need extra work to begin with, so I am just happy it is getting a physical release 👍
I am slightly confused with the OLED. Does that mean it will be 1080p handheld? In which case you would expect more internal engineering if it needs to step up to the higher resolution in portable mode
Farming simulator i think is often the Marmite option. It's one of those games two thirds of people would drop never to pick up again, and the rest delve hours and hours into it trying to get the logistics right
Giving LA Noire another chance since I tried the original. The new Good Cop/Bad Cop system works much better, I have more appreciation for what the game does well. Will complete it this time!
I can't think of any logical reason why Rockstar decided LA Noire was the game to test the water with the Switch. Lets be honest, GTA V would have sold like hot cakes as a portable option. LA Noire on Switch has to be considered a failure considering no retailer restocked it, I can't imagine it sold well at all
It was too easy to beat (I played through again with permadeath) and story is brain dead, but otherwise I had fun with it, not enough to buy the dlc though
2k/Yukes should have used WWE 2K17 as the basis for the switch version. It never had a story mode, only the dlc which came later, and only the ps4/XOne had the MyCareer exclusive. It would have made much sense to reskin and add to that engine rather than try to get 2K19 running on the Switch.

Re: Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection Announced For Switch This February
Will be interesting if it is a cartridge + single use code. I checked my AC3 remastered case and it was just a cartridge + download requirement
Re: Best Of 2021: 8 Games That Missed Nintendo Hardware
The Shenmue 1&2 rerelease comes to mind given that Xbox also got them.

I can see R* cancelling the physical release altogether

The physical is a cartridge, with download requirements. It isn't a code in a box as far as I know

Yes the second there is a discount from the pre-order price which always dips a week or two after release

It would be a surprise given the chip shortage, I wasn't expecting price drops that is for sure

Bowser's Fury. What a gem of a game

Batman Arkham
Splinter Cell

A remastered F1 2013, with more classic races from more eras would be genuinely awesome.
