I do not agree. "Ruining the Christmases of 10 million" My Christmas is not ruined by Star Fox Zero's delay. Delays happen. They've happened a ton in recent years. It's something you come to get used to. Unfortunate, yes. "The Final Nail In The Wii U's Coffin"? Uh, no.
Jeez, if Pikmin 4 was on mobile I think I'd throw up. Thankfully, chances of that seem slim to none. Definitely excited to see a new Pikmin is coming, though!
Man, I'm with Sakurai. People need to just chill out about this. It's honestly kind of a bizarre thing to include in the game, but it shouldn't really matter to or affect someone who isn't interested in using the feature. Just my opinion.
So from what I understand, currently it's being stated that you need the Pro membership thing to get in an hour early. But since info has changed so much, who knows until we get official conformation.
Not a fan, then again I don't really enjoy smart phones in general. I think if Nintendo were ever to release a phone (please no), they wouldn't base it's design on one of their pre-existing systems. Doesn't seem like Nintendo's style.
Edit: Another thing, I highly doubt Nintendo would use an OS that is not their own.
I'm planning on going later this year, and hoping that the audience doesn't actually shout all that much, as it seems like that would be pretty distracting from the amazing Zelda music.
I do find it pretty irritating how Minecraft still hasn't made it's way to Nintendo systems, despite multiple statements from Mojang about not being opposed to it. I really feel the Wii U could be the definitive console version (there's no version that's ever gonna be better than PC version), what with the dual screens being used for crafting/inventory and such. Unfortunately, I still don't really see them going through with it.
This may be kind of selfish of me, but I'm really hoping NX isn't a home console, and if it is that it isn't launched till like 2019. Cause I still haven't managed to pick up a Wii U yet,(even though I legit super want one) so I'd be a full two generations behind...
@TSB Well, I mean, perhaps in terms of popularity, but as far as I know neither of the Metroid games are riddled with glitches and similar issues. Also Federation Force hasn't even been released, so I think it's a bit early for that judgement.
I mean, this is nice, but is it necessary? And wouldn't it have been better to tell people that it came from the writer's imagination at the beginning of the article?
Haaa. I was wondering how they were going to deal with the Wii U's "U" in the title. Still am unhappy with Ubisoft for taking away yet another Wii U title's exclusivity.
I really feel like people's expectations were far too high. Just because it didn't have everything that everyone wanted doesn't mean it was bad. Just my opinion. Because I really liked it.
Excellent work, I'm surprised at how well he was able to capture the essence of the gameplay in Splatoon. It's not a mod though, it's made using vanilla Minecraft.
Awesome trailer, so many good things in it. We have ALL the Pokémon, as well as ALL the starters. I can be Bulbasaur again! Yeah! Also, they show like 80% of the legendarys in the trailer, which is pretty rad. I think Gates is pretty underrated, and really not all that bad, but this looks like a huge improvement in general.
Ehhhhhh. Pretty sick of Game Theory. The worst part about it is that many people are CONVINCED that anything that spews out of their channel is completely 100% factual. It gets kind of irritating talking to people who believe in the stuff like it's their religion.
Not sure why everyone seems to be jumping to the conclusion that it's free to play. They've never announced a free to play this far from release, so to me it seems fairly unlikely. I really do hope that I'm right, as I don't think free to play would work for Mystery Dungeon at all. That being said, I'm hopeful for it(it's one of my favorite spinoffs), and really wishing that they bring back more starters than Gates had, as well as the quiz. I really want to play as Bulbasaur again.
"We did naturally consider the potential for a multiplayer mode for BOXBOY! However, this is the first BOXBOY! game; it isn't an established franchise or anything, so we decided that introducing people to the single-player fun should take priority. If we have an opportunity to continue with BOXBOY!, I'd certainly like to think about multiplayer." Multiplayer in BOXBOY! is something that never occurred to me, but my god would that be incredible. I'd love a sequel with multiplayer somewhere down the road.
Eh... not really something to worry about from my point of view. I mean, I'm not really super thrilled for the Smash Bros. costumes, but you don't HAVE to buy them. I think DLC really should just exist pretty much purely as extra content, and so far thats mostly all Nintendo has done. Do you really like racing in MK8, and want more tracks and characters to use? Sure, that's available. Want more Hyrule Warriors stuff? You can buy it. You want some more characters or costumes for Smash Bros? Why not, buy it? I don't see a problem here. I also don't think the price is really an issue. The MK8 DLC is an exceptionally good deal, so it's not surprising to see the new DLC cost a bit more in comparison. That being said I'm a bit wary of Pokemon Shuffle and the other free to play stuff they're doing, but in terms of DLC in pre-existing titles I have no issue.
I agree with most of the comments here about the review. The part in it about the game not integrating the visuals very well confused me a bit:
"Less impressive is what BOXBOY! then does with it: nothing. The aesthetic is little more than a photo filter peddling manufactured nostalgia. Yes, the sprite work is chunky and minimal, with a clean look designed to hold up on a notoriously blurry display. But so what? Why force constraints — for visuals, audio, and scope — when you have no plans to challenge them?
BOXBOY! doesn't have a good answer for why it co-opts an iconic visual style and, given the overly pervasive retro 'Throwback' trend that has dogged smaller games for years, probably didn't expect anyone to even question its decision."
I'm not really sure what was so unsatisfactory about the game's visuals. It's simple visuals for a game with simple gameplay. Seems like a good enough reason for me. Also,(some other people have mentioned this before) I'm pretty sure the visuals were just supposed to be minimalist. I mean, as opposed to being there solely to evoke nostalgia for the Game Boy or whatever. I also don't really find the game dull at all. In any aspect. In fact, while writing this I've been fighting the urge to go back to playing it. Just a lot of things I disagree with here. Any way, better luck next NLife, this review really just didn't seem like a ton of thought went into it. (Which shows given how short it is, and how focused a lot of it is on just introducing the mechanics of the game).

Uh yeah, but the Super Bowl has not aired yet. Commercial seems decent I suppose.
Re: Game of the Year: Nintendo Life's Reader Awards 2015
