Is this some kind of joke? Atlus cannot be that oblivious to the fans clamoring for Persona 5 to come to the Switch.
I like how the article notes it doesn't mean any of these games will actually come to the Switch. I agree they will not and have no idea what Atlus actually wants the data for.
@Dualmask Yeah, going to be a pass from me then. I don't mind AIs getting advantages (Civ6 is my favorite game after all), but I hate it when it straight-up cheats.
I wonder if the AI still cheats by magically getting the pieces it needs at critical times. I remember that happening a lot as the game progressed when I first played the series.
The problem I have is that they lied about the quality of the game at PAX ("the Switch overheated") and then delayed the release a week supposedly to patch the game (which didn't really do anything). If they had just been honest about the port to begin with and put it back in the oven for a few more months, that would have been better than releasing a half-assed product.
Igarashi is a clown and only a fool would trust anything he says. He absolutely knew what a poor state the Switch version was in and tried his best to deflect.
And more Switch fixes are incoming? Right. We've had how many now? Oh yeah. One. What incentive is there to even patch it at this point? They've made their money off the Switch port and Kickstarter.
Honestly, it makes more sense to aim for the PS4/Xbox/PC crowd due to the larger install bases and how much easier it appears to be to port to those systems. The Switch is still an outlier for development purposes.
One thing that really annoyed me was the delay of the Switch release to avoid negative reviews and the sites, such as Nintendo Life, that held on reviewing it until a patch was released, which tended to skew the score higher. It should have been reviewed in a pure state.
@NinChocolate It was not originally slated for Nintendo systems. The WiiU version was a stretch goal, then it was canceled and a Switch port was announced well into development.
Absolutely. They knew the Switch port was garbage when they showed it at PAX. They blamed the shoddy performance on "over heating" which was a bald-faced lie.
As to the article, it's just more empty words. They've already made their money on the Switch port. They are not going to magically make millions more when it's patched, so what's the rush? Obviously they do not really care about their reputation, otherwise they would have been honest about the Switch port from the get go and delayed it.
@Paraka According to Bloodstained's defenders, it was also playable when it was released.
My point stands. This is just another half-hearted attempt at porting the game to the Switch. It's not like the developers do not know they are releasing a shoddy port to the system. Time will tell if they even bother trying to patch it either.
Hard to get excited about this news seeing as how little relevance it has to Nintendo.
We have what from Atlus for this Gen? Q2, the Warrirors-esque nobody asked for, and Joker in Smash? Hard to really care about a company that doesn't really care too much about Nintendo.
The proof is in the pudding. The Switch version hasn't and isn't a priority to the developers. They conned everyone with the overheating story. Then they conned everyone stating that it would be patched all along. Why should we have any faith in these clowns at this point?
At this point, I would not expect much from any Switch patch. It's clear fixing the Switch version is not a critical priority as we were initially led to believe.
@SalvorHardin Nope. There aren't any bosses to deal with. There is one bullet-sponge enemy in the game, a Killer Robot, that can take a severe beating but he is designed more to flee from than to kill.
I put a hundred hours into Streets of Rogue on PC and I'm very tempted to double dip for the Switch version. I have so many fond memories of the game. There's just something amazing about playing as a gorilla, with a gorilla posse, and chasing down a terrified drug dealer into an alley to dispense gorilla justice.
I agree completely. They should review it as is. If they want to amend their score later to reflect improvements, that's fine. But for now, it should be reviewed in all of it's mediocre glory.
$40.00 for a crappy port. That's Capcom levels of insulting.
What's the point? This one game will probably cost as much as the HD collection released on every other system. Only an idiot would bother buying the game under such circumstances.
@Ralizah I know. I'm referring to the issues they had with the Switch version at PAX East, notably the massive frame rate drops. I hope the issue is resolved for release but I have little faith it will be.

Re: SoulCalibur VI Producer Still Not Sure About Porting The Game To Switch
Not really news, is it?

Re: New Lawsuits Claim FIFA Is Built On "Illusionary And Addictive" Pay-To-Win Mechanics
If the person is falling behind on rent payments due to a game, they need to take responsibility and get counseling for addiction first.
Worry about EA's crummy practices later.
Re: You Don't Need To Play Persona 5 To Enjoy The Story In Persona 5 Scramble
Why would I support a company that barely supports the Switch?

It's currently on sale 20% off on Steam.
Re: The Devil May Cry Switch Trilogy Pack Includes Download Codes For The Second And Third Game
If you do not like it, vote with your wallets. Capcom will keep pulling this crap ass long as people keep buying it.
Re: Atlus Is Releasing Persona 5 Scramble In Japan Next February
Vote with your wallets. If you are upset 5 isn't coming to Switch, don't buy Persona Warriors.

Re: Bloodstained Switch Updates Expected To Launch By The End Of November
Right...
And in November it will be delayed again.
Re: Sid Meier's Civilization VI Expansion Bundle Releases On Switch This November
About time. I was tired of my Switch copy collecting dust. Vanilla feels so lacking without the expansion content.
$50.00 for both expansions is a reasonable price.

We should not excuse lazy developers.

Does anyone actually trust Capcom's word on anything?
Re: Disgruntled Gamers Are Review-Bombing Astral Chain On Metacritic
It must be hard having nothing better to do than to downvote a game because it is an exclusive. I would hate to be that pathetic.

$30 for an incomplete game?
Re: Seek Peace In Asgard When Side-Scrolling RPG Niffelheim Explores Switch Next Month

In other words, it runs like garbage on the Switch and they don't want it to get even worse reviews that it already is.

Glad I waited. I heard this was basically a other Bloodstained situation.

Why does it need a patch? It was a 7/10 according to NL. It was fine.

Re: Review: Resident Evil 4 - An Ageing Masterpiece Which Deserves More Care And Attention
Not worth triple-dipping for a lazy, $30 port.
Re: Review: Darkwood - A Gripping Switch Horror Title Full Of Terrors
Wish I had purchased this instead of Lovecraft's Untold Stories. That game is a mess.

I'm sure as Hell not interested now.
Re: Gallery: Capcom Shares First Batch Of Devil May Cry Nintendo Switch Screenshots
I want to be surprised that Capcom will charge $30 for this. I really want to.
Re: The Original Devil May Cry Hunts Demons On Switch This Summer

I am not expecting any new Capcom games on the Switch any time soon. It seems content to keep dumping rereleases on Switch owners.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling the Switch version is going to be released in a far worse state than the other versions.
Re: Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers Officially Confirmed For Switch
Well, that is disappointing. If I want a Warriors-esque game, I have plenty of other options available to me on the Switch.
