Re: Talking Point: Remember When People Thought Switch Would Fail?

Nin10dood

My Switch was a dud.
It had major faults from day one when I pulled it out of the box.
I bought it on launch and it had a faulty SD reader, game card reader, 3 cracks in the casing and the left Joycon drifted badly.
I had to send it in after only owning it for a week to fix all the faults.
It took them 3 weeks before I got it back.
I was without my new console for nearly a month.
My family was severely disappointed and still today after Nintendo fixed my joy con it still drifts.

So yes, you could say Switch did fail to deliver in my household.

Re: Random: Watch This Unboxing Of A Rare Transparent Green 2DS

Nin10dood

I have 2 2DS's brand new in their box.
A pink one and a Pokemon one.
I also have the original Blue Phat DS brand new in its box
My local game shop was shutting down and had a clearance sale and I got the 2 2DS's for $99 Australian each.

I'd love Nintendo to be more transparent about Joy-con drift.

Ohhhh, I went there.
😜

Re: Rumour: Insider Says N64 Is Coming To Switch Online, Believes It Will Introduce A "Higher-Priced" Subscription Tier

Nin10dood

Sadly a lot of the N64 titles are tied up in publisher, ownership rights so it will only be Nintendo's own titles.
I wouldn't expect GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Banjo or Conker to be amongst them.
Still, better than nothing.
I'm good though as I own everything that was released on the system anyway.

Still taking this with about 5 buckets of salt though.

Re: Random: Nintendo Fan Collects Every Game Boy Game In Just Two Years

Nin10dood

As a collector it is the.people you meet and friends you make along the way while collecting that is part of the journey
I am a collector, I have a huge collection and I met a few fellow collectors who were passionate about the consoles I collect for.
It is a great feeling coming across rare titles.
I have also played games I would never even looked at if I wasn't collecting complete sets.
There truly are some wonderful games that others might not enjoy but you might.
I don't throw stupid amounts of money around and I enjoy going to second hand shops as much as going online and finding a title you've been searching for.
You can spend crazy amounts of money but if you're patient you can also nab some bargains.
Another cheaper way of buying games is buying everything individually, like the box, manual and cart and making your own full game.
I buy games that might have a mint box but the manual is tatty or the cart has a ripped label etc and then make my own mint copy.
Then sell the now complete average copy to redeem some of your money back,
It takes a lot of the cost out of the equation and in some instances I have made all my money back and a profit
You just have to set a limit.
It has worked for me and I now own a full CIB set of Australian N64 games in mint condition.

Re: Nintendo Celebrates 20 Years Of GameCube In New Smash Bros. Event

Nin10dood

Love the Cube.
Still have mine in its launch day box in mint condition along with over 50 games.
Even have a sealed copy of Ikaruga as I bought 2 copies for cheap.
Some truly amazing games on that system.
Viewtiful Joe is one of my all time favourite games.
Never forget playing Rogue Leader for the first time on launch night until 3 in the morning.
Blew.
My
Mind.

Re: Poll: Why Do You Collect Video Games?

Nin10dood

I have a massive collection.
I own every N64 game released in Australia, all complete in box in mint condition.
I've said this a few times, it took me 10+ years to accumulate, I love my 64 collection.
I also own a 70+ GameCube games, over 80+ Wii U games, so, so many Wii games, some SNES games, and heaps of DS, 3DS,, 360 and Switch games.
I recently sold my PS1 & PS2 collection which was massive, as well as my Xbox Original collection which was also huge, needed to make room for more new games like my fast growing PS4 collection.
I have played probably 80% of my games and I intend on playing them all, eventually.
It is the circle of life..

Re: Spiritfarer Collector's Edition And Vinyl Soundtrack Up For Pre-Orders, Coming 2022

Nin10dood

I have bought a fair few LE/CE lately and I am getting tired of them
I have NMH3, Metroid, Shin Megami, Mind Sieze, Scott Pilgrim and Castilla Ex all LE pre orders not to mention the ones I have recently picked up.
Seriously, it's like every release has to be limited.
I've done my fair share.
The games I've pre-ordered are the games I love and I love the extra's but man they're really starting to saturate the market with Limited Editions.
I'd hate to be collecting them all, you'd have to sell your soul to keep up.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Metroidvania Games

Nin10dood

Mind Sieze is a great game that should be on that list
It has been patched well which fixes a lot of the bugs too.
It has great in game graphics (ignore the cutsecene art, it's terrible) and I really love the soundtrack.
The sound effects are great too.

I bought it digitally and enjoyed it so much that I have the Collectors Edition pre ordered.

Re: Talking Point: Million-Dollar Retro Game Auctions Help Remind Us What Matters Most

Nin10dood

I'm a physical collector.
I have a few sealed games but that was because I bought it digitally later in life and never ended up opening it
I have a full 243 game plus variants collection of CIB Australian rated N64 games, most are mint, all have been opened or played.
My kids love playing our N64 with me, they especially love Banjo Kazooie.
I collected these over a 10+ year span well before this crazy sh** was happening with the intention of playing them all.
I only got my last game in the last month or so and really enjoyed finding games I never would have played if I didn't
The prices have certainly shot up in the last couple of years, thankfully I bought mint copies of games like Starcraft 64, Kirby, Snowboard Kids 2 all for $90 each years ago, bargain.
I couldn't afford to do it now though as those 3 games alone would cost me $3,500+ today, especially in the condition mine are in.
Ridiculous.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 14th)

Nin10dood

Just finished Ghost of Tsushima which I loved.
Started The Order 1886 which is a nice short game as a break after that huge game
Love the setting, great world they have created, enjoying it especially as I got it free in a deal.
Also playing Mario Golf on my Switch and playing San Francisco RUSH 2049 on my N64.
