Re: A Copy Of Super Mario Bros. For NES Just Smashed World Records, AGAIN

@Guitar_bard
Yeah game collecting has become increasingly harder and this sort of thing doesn't help us at all.
I love the feeling of finding a copy of a game you've been hunting down but sadly game grading, stories like this where games sell for ridiculous amounts have only made some games increase to prices that make it impossible.
I was lucky in that the higher priced games for my 64 collection I got early before prices jumped, some prices now I would never pay.

I just completed a complete in box, mint collection of Australian rated N64 games, all 243 +some variants, all complete and I told my wife then that it was an "investment"
Now I will show her this story to win my argument ๐Ÿ˜

And yes, they have all been opened and all have been playtested.
All will be played.
I have played some games I never would have and found some real gems doing so.
It has taken over 10 years and I have made some wonderful friends out of collecting them

Grading games bugs me, it hikes prices for those of us actually collecting them to play.

Re: Video: The Complete Story Of The Metroid Series

Nin10dood

I (and many others) have been waiting for a new Metroid for way too long.
Our bodies are ready.
Just hook it into my veins, we don't need an update as we have played these games numerous times over waiting for a new game in the series.
It's like asking F Zero fans (myself included) if we are ready for a new game, of course we are
Just release it already.

Saying that, this is great to get you up to speed or for newcomers and those who don't live, eat and breathe these franchises

Re: Here's Why That NES Zelda Sold For $870,000, According To The Guy Who Designed The Packaging

I buy games to play, I am a collector though.
I have a complete N64 collection, all mint, all complete, all played or will be played.
I don't buy sealed games, I do have sealed games that I haven't played, had the intention of playing but a cheap digital copy has come out so I bought that to keep my Seal unbroken.
All my games I buy I keep in pristine condition knowing that in the future they will be worth something to somebody.
Whether my kids or I benefit from that who knows.
I buy collectors editions wherever possible knowing that the prices will only increase.
I'm not well off but I don't have any other habits or hobbies so I invest heavily into it.
Not all collectors are out to scalp, some of us just love gaming so much that we want to preserve as much of it as we can.

Re: Nintendo Won't Say Whether Switch OLED Joy-Con Fixes Drift, So Don't Count On It

@Col_e_h

Probably.
The worst thing is when I called Nintendo Australia they accused me of dropping it!
I was insulted.
I'm a collector.
I take extreme care of all my consoles and games, I still have my launch day N64, PS1 etc, all still work perfectly and they had the audacity to accuse me.
I subsequently lost my ****.
Thankfully I had taken pics of me opening my new Switch as I always do with new consoles (weird, I know ๐Ÿ˜) so I had photographic proof that it was like that our of the box.
They have lost a lot of respect from me that's for sure

Sorry for the rant, it still angers me today, clearly.

Re: Nintendo Won't Say Whether Switch OLED Joy-Con Fixes Drift, So Don't Count On It

Nin10dood

My launch day Switch had joycon drift straight out of the box.
The console itself had cracks in the casing and the SD card reader didn't work.
This was a BRAND NEW console that has numerous faults.
I was without my console for 2 months while they fixed it.
I only got to play my new console for 2 weeks before I found all these faults and Nintendo has done nothing to convince me they have fixed any of these issues with this new version.
Until they do they're not getting another cent out of me in regards to hardware.

Re: Yes, Switch OLED Works With Your Old Dock

Nin10dood

Thanks for that information.
Not that I'm going to need it since this console has revisions that should have been on the original.
If I'm going to spend that amount of money on a slightly better revision I might as well get a XB or PS5 for a little more.

Re: This Ultra-Rare Copy Of The Original NES Zelda Is Already Going For Crazy Money

Nin10dood

I have a sealed copy of Ikaruga (pal) version for the GameCube that I bought on release with the intention of playing it but because I have such a huge backlog (that has actually increased over the years) I never got around to playing it.
I then saw that it was released on my 360 a few years later before I got to open it so I downloaded it on that for cheap instead and kept my Cube version sealed, which it still is today.
I plan on giving it to my daughter who is an avid gamer to sell in the future for a very nice profit.
See, investing in games can be beneficial and my mother said nothing good will come out of them.
Pfffft.

Re: Best Tony Hawk Games Of All Time

Nin10dood

I played TH 1, 2, 3 & 4 on my PS1 and PS2 as the controllers are way better for pulling off combo's than any Nintendo pad.
I also got the remakes on the PS4 for the same reason thanks to Sony not changing their controllers for years and keepng very similar layouts.
Fell straight back into racking up ridiculous scores as It felt natural and I remembered most of the button combinations.
Sometimes a lack of innovation for your controllers pays off ๐Ÿ˜

I own both 1 & 2 on my 64 and I can't pull half the moves I can with a Sony controller.
Also I rate 3 as my all time favourite thanks mainly in having the best level ever, the cruise ship.
Some seriously massive scores on that level.
Let's hope 3 & 4 get the same treatment as 1 & 2 as I would snap that up in a heartbeat.
