@Jack_Goetz A president don't have anything to do with development. Stop with this thinking that a president is responsible for an entire company. It was dumb with Iwata and it is now. A company is much more than that with tons of employees for all of those functions.
@TheFrenchiestFry Yes, of course, I agree. My argument is more that to make the open world with the possibilty they wanted, they had to make the story in a way in which you could see it in any order with the memories, plus quests, diaries and so on. So basically exploring the world. I think that a more focused story can only come if they give less freedom, be it in an open world or a more linear zelda, and in that way, we lose a lot of the appeal of botw world and its freedom.
@TheFrenchiestFry It has such thing because it's not an open world where you can do anything on any order. That's why they can focus on story, it's more focused on linearity.
And even with the focus on its world, BOTW still had its own story to be told, plus diaries and lots of stuff for the world and characters.
@Sabrewing There's no "team at Sora ltd". Sakurai even made sure to say today that Sora isn't recruiting new employees and have no employees but is just an agency company to negotiate contract with publishers, so in this case, Nintendo.
The team of Smash since 4 is Bandai Namco Studios, with Sakurai from his company Sora acting as director of those employees of BNS.
@Giancarlothomaz Imagine crediting hardware to ***** presidents. Even more when Switch itself is a product that came from Iwata era in the first place. Kimishima and Furukawa had nothing to do with this, the product came that way already, much like online service and other stuff.
@mariomaster96 That's not true at all. lol Those numbers are normal for 3D Mario. Take a look at Odyssey and you'll see that it began similarly until it reached 1 million. 3D Stars will sell for a long time before it reaches it. 3D Mario don't have frontload sales in JP, it gets sales over time.
That was obvious. I'm still amazed that people believed that this would get removed. You can bet with me that the same will happen with 3D All Stars and it won't get removed either.
This is all marketing stunt to get people to download the app until they say that it'll continue on there. Same for 3D All Stars, or even a new version of a console where you don't announce it's coming and leave people to buy the old model. 2020 and people still didn't learn how those things works
Oh god, why did they make it similar to Smash? Oh why? MAYBE BECAUSE HAL LABORATORY DEVELOPED THE FIRST TWO GAMES. lmao Tons of staff from that time still are there so it's obvious why a fighting game from Kirby has influence from Smash Bros which was influenced by Kirby in the first place in many of its aspects.
@Totakekeke Your post makes absolutely no sense. Kirby games sells more than any of those franchises you mentioned and Kirby games are produced because Hal Laboratory exists and co-own the franchise with Nintendo.
@Ooyah eshop games from Nintendo always go between 15 and 20 dollars. Kirby games that launched on eshop only for 3ds were between 5 and 15 dollars.
@Chibi_Manny You must live in another world if those last 6 years were a disappointment after disappointment. Nintendo released tons of great games in that period.
@CoastersPaul You don't know what you're talking about. Those 10 million didn't came in launch. In the first two months it sold 6 million, since 2018 it has sold more 4 million.
@AtlanteanMan No, it's not a third party game, at least on our region. It's being released by Nintendo outside of Japan as part of the deal of licensing the IP (as they get more money), plus the fact that the Zelda team is working alongside KT to release it on story, graphics, etc. Plus, your insistence on "in-house" is also bizarre when Nintendo games are mostly developed by contractors, with Nintendo SPD/EAD in the past producing them and since 2015 after the merger, Nintendo EPD producing it with 3 of its departments focused on production of external developed titles. At this point I recommend you to give a read to this thread: https://www.resetera.com/threads/nintendo-first-party-thread-ot3-internal-x-external-x-publishing-whats-cooking.116419/
And your argument of Wii U ports is wrong. Not only because Nintendo released more than 20 new games into the system but Wii U ports are games developed and with added content to fill up the gaps on what wouldn't have anything on the month, plus giving time to the development team as a side project. 3D World port? It's a side project of Nintendo EPD Tokyo with them working on the new content (and they work on a new 3D Mario), while NST work on the port and implementation of the online. Those ports aren't getting resources from new games, they are being used to give time to the team and to also give content where otherwise a gap would be there, so while a new 3D Mario is being developed, 3D World is coming to not have this team not releasing anything in that period of 3-4 years of development.
@AtlanteanMan You don't know what you're talking about, even more with how huge the demand of Switch is on every market.
Hyrule Warriors 2 is literally their game for the Holidays. 3D All Stars launched on September and it's just limited because of it being from the anniversary, much like the 3D All Stars on Wii was for the 25th.
No, it literally is very good for business. You guys are terrible with those analysis as always. Being a good thing for business isn't the same as being for the consumer. If you're going to analyze it from the viewpoint of Nintendo as a company, it's a pretty good decision. If by the consumer, no it isn't. But that's not what the author of this article did.
Nintendo Life at least could say that NERD means Nintendo European Research and Development but no, they leave just the word and whoever is reading the article has no idea what that means. lol
@GrandScribe Age of Calamity is their game for the holiday
@Slowdive That's literally what a rumor means. The person who came up with this don't have any past insider info. Trusting random people on things like that even more when the guy has no track is crazy.
@AtlanteanMan ?? Are you nuts dude? In Iwata's leadership there was tons of garbage on the Wii and Wii U shop. Plus, VC died already on his own leadership. Don't forget that the entire switch and all of it were made under him, so the following presidents only followed on his ternure. Mobile, Parks, expansion and the Switch all came and were developed under Iwata ternure.
I love those kind of articles with trademark because it always remind those people that Pokemon trademark and copyright are owned by Nintendo, GF and Creatures. Which also should remind that Nintendo is a publisher for those games since ever lol
@zool what are you even talking about? "Gamers" are an extreme minority anyway. All gamers could boycott Nintendo and it wouldn't make any difference. They are below wii u numbers.
@AlexSora89 Imagine not understanding what an outside director is. Furukawa isn't part of TPC, he's part of Nintendo and was the Nintendo representative on the board of directors.
I just love how Ring Fit Adventure is ignored when mentioned New IP when it's much more successful and popular than anything mentioned on this. Nintendo Life, be better.
@zool Except thar tou forget the part that matters: People on the internet are not even 5% of the overall market. This game will sell millions as tons of people want to play games they never played before or want to play again. You guys talk like that for decades but if you have lived more than 20 years, you know that nothing will really change.
@Heavyarms55 Square Enix isn't a "studio". They are a conglomerate that is most known for games but they work on Amusement, Merchandise and Manga as a publisher. Their gaming part has internal divisions and subsidiaries.

@Cosats Because they were animated shorts.

@Tonyo What a delusional post. Imagine thinking that a CEO has that much control over a company.
Re: UK Charts: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Gets Kicked Out Of First Place
@koekiemonster 3D All Stars will sell much more than Crash. And your argument ignores the fact that 3D all stars is on its third week, not first week.
Re: Full Smash Bros. Ultimate Minecraft Song List Revealed - Seven Tracks In Total
@TheFrenchiestFry What a garbage post. Hero, Marth and many others have personality and are loved by fans of their franchise.

@ArmenianJedi13 Nintendo never developed Kirby.

@rjc-32 That's probably why they announced a lot of products this year, huh.

@Ulysses They don't need to release anything in december. Most companies don't release anything on that period, including Nintendo.
Re: Random: Some 3D All-Stars Players Aren't Happy About The Visible Debug Cubes In Super Mario Sunshine
@Slowdive No, they didn't. This is a rumor that has absolutely no proof whatsoever.

@NEStalgia Wtf are you even talking about? Nintendo released more than new 20 games for the Switch and they continue to do so.

Koei Tecmo will, not Nintendo. KT is the publisher in Japana nd the game will be on TGS.

Yes, dude, we will. lmao It's really obvious, even more when Koei Tecmo is publishing the game in Japan.
Re: Sorry Folks, No More Heroes 3 Has Been Delayed Until Next Year
@JJtheTexan Metroid isn't in any place a huge title. It's best selling game is less than 3 million and only two games surpassed 2 million.
Re: Retro Studios Hires Industry Veteran To Help Steer Metroid Prime 4 Development
@nessisonett No? How is that rare when Retro developed 5 games and Next Level Games developed like 6 or 7 games for Nintendo? lol
Re: Jump Rope Challenge Updated To Version 1.2.0, Game Available Until The End Of This Month
The game is literally free. The time limit is to download it until it's going to be paid. It's obvious, my god.
It's like you guys began being consumers today.
