As part of the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase September 2020, it's has been announced that Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise is coming to Switch on 4th December — to help keep you trim over the holidays, no doubt.
A sequel to the boxercise rhythm game Fitness Boxing, this new game will add a host of new modes (including a two-player mode), three new instructors (joining the original six) and various other tweaks over the original game - a surprise hit for Nintendo and developers Imagineer when it released nearly two years ago. If you've got the original, you can carry your save data over to the new game, too.
Here are some more details from the official blurb, along with some screenshots:
The sequel to Fitness Boxing has entered the ring! Grab the Joy-Con controllers, select the music and courses, and get to a variety of boxing exercises! Players can pick any one of nine instructors, each with their own distinctive personality, with three making their debut in the game: Karen, Janice and Hiro. As players continue exercising, their bond with the instructors will grow. Players can even customize their outfits, providing more variety to their workouts. Several features are included in this installment, including a two-player mode, an alarm function and the ability to remove certain boxing actions. Save data can even be carried over from the first Fitness Boxing game!
The game will cost $49.99 and will be available for pre-order later today ahead of its 4th December release date.

I thought for a sec they were bringing Feel the Magic to Switch because that banner art looks SUPER SIMILAR
Game companies really think putting a .99 at the end of the price is going to make us buy it.
It works. Sadly.
That announcement is like buying a new washing machine. You are not really excited for it, but once you did it, you are happy about it.
@Apportal It really does.
I need to know the song list.
The first one was disappointing by uninteresting song list in my opinion.
Will the first one have a price drop then?
I can't help but feel that an update to the first game would have sufficed.
This is it guys, Nintendo's big December title!
@Miyamotosan agree this feels like DLC to me. Having bought the first game I don't feel the need to spend £40-50 on this. I would have have considered paying for DLC tracks, trainers etc if it was around the £10-20 mark.
The first game already had 2 player mode, which was fun, so I don't know why that's being singled out in the announcement.
Strange decision by the developers if you ask me.
@ianl579 This is a third party title..
Karen will "not appreciate your tone" and "demand your manager" to get you moving.
Wasn’t expecting a sequel. The 1st game came in handy when I can’t get my usual exercise in. I’ll probably get this too.
Was thinking about getting the first,, so guess I’ll wait for this one instead. Feeling like this combined with Ring Fit and my own stretching n yoga will keep me real fit this winter!
@Nemesis666 Just joking since both this game and the original are published by Nintendo.
Hope they manage to sort out the terrible lag on some of the moves from the first one.
There were also some grating mistakes made by the voice actors in this, where they didn't seem to read their script properly or understand the game at all. It's one of those things that you just can't unhear.
@Apportal this is pretty much any company that sells a product.
Yessss I loved the first one! I’m so glad they snuck this into the Direct
I am super upset with this.
If you recall, the game FiNC Home Fit was announced in Japan and looked like a great successor to the original FITNESS BOXING as it included other martial arts with Muay Thai, etc.
I am so disappointed this then means we may not be getting an English version!
Also, if this game doesn’t have online versus, then I’m not sure I’ll upgrade.
I love FITNESS BOXING and there is already plenty of two player modes (the article seems to suggest there isn’t in the first one?).
I agree a nicer song list helps, but I’d have paid for a DLC update for that.
I can’t believe we don’t get FiNC!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

@YonVonBlett
Pretty much came here to say the same thing. The first game is absolutely fine. Just needs additional music tracks to make it more interesting
DLC could have covered this rather than a whole new game
My wife will be pleased but I have to agree this looks a bit too much like the first game to warrant spending full price on it again.
I got the first game on a sale, I'll probably do the same thing with this game.
Actually played the first one a fair bit but tend to go for Ring Fit Switch and Wii Fit U moreso now. I'll almost def download this though if it is as good as the first one.
I always thought it was weird that they never updated the original game or offered DLC. Now I understand the strategy: make more $$ with a fresh sale.
That being said, I do really enjoy the first one. While I wish it were just a quality of life update, I’m so tired of the songs and little issues with the first that I’ll be happy to get this. I especially love the new feature of removing some of the motions. The front and side stepping never captures well on the joycon.
I suspect that this will become an annual or biannual series similar to the Let's Sing and Just Dance franchises. It would be nice if they spring for the original tracks this time.
Not confident in music. Didn't sound like they had licensed stuff still. Also doesn't look too different then the first game.
They have the feature I want, disabling moves you don’t like (or that don’t register well). However, I don’t use the first game enough to justify buying another one. Wish those features were available in the first one. Or that owners of the first game could get a significant discount.
the first one has been crucial for me during the quarantine but now I got a PS VR and playing Box VR and it is MILES better... of course, it is also much more expensive, but if you have the cash, I recommend.
I play FB with RFA and am glad there's a sequel, but that price though. I don't think I'm doing $50 twice for FB so I'll wait for a hard price cut. Physical copy coming maybe?
@Nemesis666 Published by Imagineer in Japan... but it's published by Nintendo outside of Japan.
Kind of annoying it's so hard to provide feedback to the developer. They shrunk the chest sizes of the girls from the first one.
