@RadioHedgeFund I’ve already played about 10 hours since the update made it available, and while the amount of items is admittedly obscene it’s still an enjoyable though clearly unfinished game

Please please please I hope the rumble that was toned down WAY too much in 3.0.1 to be basically nonexistent after it was increased in the 3.0 update is back to normal now…

Edit: I initially edited to say they did not fix the rumble strength, but after more testing it turns out they actually did!! It’s reverted to how it was at launch. I guess I was just used to how strong it was in 3.0.

It’s a pity that Nintendo doesn’t add an option menu to let players choose preferred rumble strength, I actually enjoyed the erroneous strong rumble from 3.0.

I’d download it if not for the lack of free space on my Switch 2…

Just came out of the movie and Fox kind of ruined it for me. Also did not like the Pikmin cameo. As background Easter eggs these would be fine, but making a big deal with screen time just feels antithetical to how Nintendo would like to present their game worlds.

The final post credits scene reveal was neat but whatever they end up doing with that if anything is probably going to be one third of the available potential.

Movie was fantastic in the computer graphics department but the script was entirely hollow. It’s not nearly as bad as a lot of the sentiment I have seen online, but I don’t care to see the movie again anytime soon.

Hopefully Zelda movie takes itself more seriously.

@SlowPokemon well that sucks I just checked for myself by ejecting the upgrade pack virtual game card and it’s definitely still 1080p at all times with or without the boost mode on, but there is still a slight difference in rendering with the upgrade pack.

I feel like I got swindled in this case because I bought the upgrade pack under the impression it would be the only way to get the increased handheld resolution, and it came out basically at the same time as the 3.0 update so there was no time for me to realize that the feature I thought I was getting by paying was already free. The resolution bump in docked mode that actually is part of the upgrade looks pretty bad so I could’ve done without this whole thing.

Well now I have to find a way to convince myself that using the megaphone (that doesn’t work well) was a worthwhile reason to buy the upgrade pack…

Works quite nicely for Xenoblade 2, also sampled a bunch of other games like Mario Bros. Wonder which now looks fantastic in handheld. I was almost considering getting the NS2 edition upgrade pack for it to get the resolution bump in handheld, but now it won’t be necessary. This also makes the somewhat subpar NS2 edition upgrade pack for New Horizons a total waste of money since I got it mainly to get the resolution increase in handheld.

I’m interested to try getting back into Save the World now that it’s finally going to be available on the Switch 2. I bought access to it six years ago back when I briefly had an Xbox but only played it for about three hours, compared to the 1,000s I have on Battle Royale.

It is also mildly fascinating to me how Save the World is the original vision for Fortnite, but fell by the wayside in a big way when Battle Royale became accidentally successful.

Played my DS lite I got when I was 11 for a couple hours last year. It’s still in pristine condition because I got a 3DS for free from a friend that was leaving the country, just a few months after I got my brand new DS lite. So of course I moved on to using the 3DS exclusively. That 3DS perished long ago but my DS lite is still sitting on my desk with a charge. I even still have the original stylus and the extra one that came in the box.

Heck yeah!!! I bought MGS2 a week ago and haven’t played very far in yet, so I’ll get to experience it nicely now and without the weird 60fps frame rate spike with opening doors

Bought the game years ago when it came out and never played it, but I’m giving it a go now because of this! Looks quite nice in handheld

I checked out my LABO VR thing and it is able to come apart nondestructively and is somewhat usable on NS2 that way, I’ll probably use it that way to play the games since I’m kinda desperate and I don’t have my Switch 1 anymore.

I still have my base VR kit but I can't use it because I don't have a Switch 1 anymore, and even if I did still have it, the battery was utterly fried so I wouldn't be able to use it anyway.

HECK NO! Meaningless additions for me, I wish there was just a base level NS2 edition with a resolution update alone, sans all the multiplayer stuff I have nobody to even play with.

Also what was with Nintendo using this game to demonstrate 120Hz capability of the NS2 and never implementing it

I used the megaphone twice and that’s pretty much all I got out of it. Mouse mode isn’t as nice as I thought it would be. The resolution bump while nice isn’t mind blowing at all. I should’ve saved my money but at least it wasn’t that crazily priced…

The 3.0 update stuff that is free is great though namely the crafting improvements.

I love the hardware and can't go back to the NS1 after using it, the larger buttons and everything else on the Joy-Con 2 just feel great. The system feels really sleek.

I think that when the original Switch stops getting support, the NS2 will really start becoming something special, but until then I am looking forward to Tomodachi Life 3 and and more free updates to run NS1 games in higher resolutions...

Somehow this was the best trailer to me that has been put out for the game and it came right at the end… also the game feels INCREDIBLE to control, a million times better than it looks from all gameplay videos!! I was going to skip the NS2 upgrade pack for a while but after 10 minutes the jaggies weren’t doing justice to the visual presentation, which is unbelievably beautiful. Can’t wait to play more!!!

Going to get the Switch 1 physical copy and forgo the Switch 2 edition upgrade pack for the first couple hours just out of curiosity for what it’ll look like (plus I kinda don’t like the subtitle it adds to the icon/title screen)

Just yesterday I was about to grind unlocking the Kamek transform characters and gave up because it wasn't fun, but I just did it now and got 5 characters in no time flat with custom items and the new "next race" button 😁

When the mouse controls upgrade comes out I’m going to spend hours and hours making patterns… Hopefully I can do something as cool as these!!

Played it a bit and it’s better than the Metroid Prime: Blast Ball spiritual successor I thought it was. Still a bit bland in the visuals department though.

I don’t know if I really like using mouse controls on my legs, it’s kind of pants.

I wish there was a way to disable it, I’d love to use the default brown fur but the way it turns orange is just is not cool. But the other colors are nice at least.

I can tell I have full bananergy with the circular meter that’s always on screen…

The SNES app also got upgraded to 4K and it looks insanely crispy now versus the 1080p input from before. There was a hint of the 4K NES in the Mario 3D World “Luigi Bros” unlockable game, and I couldn’t believe my eyes at the difference between 1080p and 4K, I was eagerly awaiting the Nintendo Classics apps to be updated to 4K and now it’s here. Super Metroid looks amazing. The CRT filter has also been updated to the more advanced variant like is available on the N64 app. Can’t wait for the rest of the apps to get the 4K update.

Oh and Mario Paint is cool too.

What about the Wii U era amiibo commercial for Smash Bros where the kid is daydreaming about his crush and buys the Mario amiibo because she’ll have the Peach amiibo, he has an internal monologue “Mario and Peach together, Me and Gina together”

Sweet I kinda want to get this, I sold my DMG GB to buy a NS1 Pro Controller and I kind of miss it even though it never got played, but the Game Boy and Kirby’s Dream Land was my introduction to video games and Nintendo (at age 4 in 2005) so it has a really special place in my memories. Though I sold my dmg I kept my original Kirby game pak, pity that’s not one of the recreated in Lego form game paks…

Huge nitpick but I hope they someday fix the home menu icon so that the golden border design is rounded to match the new rounded corners on Switch 2 so that it’s not cropped out

That aside this compilation was great, I 100% Sunshine which was so fun despite the jank. When it eventually comes to NSO I’m definitely using the save points function though. Hopefully rewind gets added to GCN app as well.

My first Pro Controller took 6 years to start drifting, and by then I wanted a new one anyway (had the Splatoon 2 one and got tired of it and got the default gray one instead)

Even battery degradation was not an issue over six years, and even if it was you can still use it while plugged in to the system.

The only thing I needed to open my Pro Controller for was to get a better look at the secret message on the circuit board, just for fun.

Wario Land 4 is art

NEED those Jibbitz 😍😍 I like Crocs so much I even got a pair in Fortnite 😓 I hope something Wario-themed comes out in the future, I’ve been obsessed with Wario Land 4 lately and Wario seems like he’d wear Crocs

I just hope these are actually coming and it’s not just some placeholders they used just to evaluate how artwork looks in the app or something… Forsaken 64 being in the base N64 app and not the mature one is kind of weird because the box art has an M on it, but I found it rated T on the ESRB site so maybe it was re-rated for this 🤔

Tried out the update on Switch 2 and it definitely isn’t running at 1080p. Frame rate is better than when I played on the original system but I’m going to uninstall it now because I can’t even get into an online game for some reason.

Excited to get my hands on this game, I love Shantae in general but especially with the pixel graphics like Risky's Revenge for DSi

From all the stuff I’ve seen about this game it looks like it has about the same or less content than the free Metroid Prime: Blast Ball demo

Just in time for Big Run this weekend, haven't played in a while but was coming back to play that so nice that it lined up with this new update. I'm gonna spend a lot of time reliving Grand Festival as well!!

This is my most played Switch 1 game (over 1,000 hours) even though it was basically impossible to play well due to performance issues. I’m really happy with how it runs on Switch 2. It’s so much more playable. The mouse controls work quite nicely but I’m used to gyro aiming and am going to stick with that.

When it was announced for Switch at E3 2017 I rolled my eyes with disappointment but Fortnite is now one of my favorite games… 😓

The menus definitely have become cluttered recently but it’s very easy to ignore all the user created creative modes and just focus on Battle Royale and the other in-house Epic Games modes.

Another neat feature that has returned is video captures which were disabled on Switch 1 many years ago. On Switch 1 to get clip captures you had to connect with a third-party app, and the recording would tank performance even worse, and the clips actually appearing in the app was unreliable. So being able to just get clips instantly with the native OS is great.

LAN connection on the Switch 2 dock has also been great over the Switch 1 Wi-Fi.

I still wish Nintendo let Samus be in the game, or that Epic accepted the compromise that Nintendo wanted to have her in.
