Now if we could just get a doom eternal physical...
YES.
Wow.
Okay, this made me exceedingly happy.
NINJA KICKING DEMON'S ARSES APPROVED
Oh no!!! This is going to sell out as quickly as the Astro City Mini!!! I WANT!!!
That's brilliant honestly, I was expecting them to do three separate game cards, but kudos to actually making it a collection!
The shadow box for the collector's edition looks fantastic too.
@stuntz0rZ
Worry not, all editions have a month long open pre-order window.
There's no risk of stock selling out before you have a chance to order.
30$ for the game collection (unfortunately missing Doom64) - that is not surprisingly.
But additional 50$ for some garbage merchandise!?
And another 50$ for that LED-lit cover thing? That‘s insane!
Yes my dream of having a full physical collection of Doom 1-3 has come true. Now if only we get Doom Eternal on physical for Switch that would be awesome as well.
@vanYth Limited Run already released Doom 64, I got the game physically already. Also remember that the collection comes with all the free expansions as well so levels from Ultimate Doom and Final Doom were also included.
Those are pretty dang cool, I am happy with my digital versions though.
That steelbook looks nice
SOLD.
Then SOLD again.
@TDRsuperstar2 ikr i just messaged them asking the same thing lol.
If only there was a way for these kind of things to be announced around the time the original digital editions were dropping. But I understand there's probably a whole logistical and political mess to sort out to prevent it from happening that way. I miss the good ol' days when things like this weren't a problem
@tonyp1987 They probably won't do Doom Eternal until all its expansion packs or DLCs are released. Knowing Limited Run Games they don't like selling incomplete physical copy of a game.
Hell yeah, I'll take it. I usually hate first-person shooters, as well as all games from a first-person perspective. But the early first person shooters like Wolfenstein 3D, Doom 1 and 2, Dark Forces, they were great games. Was a good time before it all got too modern.
I know my one friend is probably going to treat this like the second coming. Time to share this and blow his mind.
I like how friendly the demons appear in the Doom boxart. Just look at those big ol' goofy grins. Those guys aren't trying to kill you, they just want to hangout and have a good time.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi @TDRsuperstar2 : Considering that the base version of DOOM Eternal is around 18GB and will require a 32GB cartridge anyway, it would be a waste and a travesty if they were to issue a physical release before the expansions are ported over (and I strongly doubt that the expansions will exceed the size of the base game).
Oh wait, they screwed up the controls? Can you only play Doom 1 and 2 via dual analog? No Classic control with L and R strafing? It's a shame, this makes these games unusable / unplayable for me.
Great this should only take a year to get into people's hands.
@Skeletor1979 : It took some time for me to get used to the controls (and I initially hated them too). I was initially pretty incensed when I couldn't use the D-pad to move around.
@Mountain_Man I like how one of them is shooting a Hadouken at Doomguy. Guns who needs that when we can just shoot Hadouken at you all night long.
I want this collection. I'm still waiting for Limited Run to send out my copies of Doom 64 for Switch and PS4. Been waiting since September. I'll definitely have to order this collection asap.
@DTfeartheBEARD They seem to be shipping them. I got my Doom 64 (for Switch) this weekend in the mail. I hope you get yours soon!
NINJA APPROVED
@BloodNinja That's good to hear.
Thanks for the information. I appreciate it.
@DTfeartheBEARD You bet! Also I hope you are a beard-model, it's pretty stellar! LOL
That price is highway robbery when you can pick up all 3 games for under $10 on most systems / devices. Really doubt accessing these digitally will be a problem ever.
@BloodNinja Haha thanks ☺. But no I'm not. That pic is a little dated Beard wise. It's much fuller now lmao.
Great, Limited Run, it's as if it wasn't released physically officialy. I hope Bethesda announces Doom Eternal for retail after the DLCs' release. I really hate limited distributors getting the right to release huge games as they only benefit the scalpers and some few rabid collectors
@Beatrice I'm from the UK too and yeah, the postage costs do inflate the overall price somewhat. See, I only buy LRG games I'm interested in playing. I can justify paying over the odds as I know that I can make my money back, if not more, somewhere down the line should I ever decide to sell them.
@Flashlink99 LRG games are available for pre order to all with no set amount. Is it scalping if you decide not to pre order then later decide you actually do want it?
Ive never been interested in LRG but this one has me interested. Id only go with the standard one as the wife has banned me from having all my stuff on show. I feel like i should ban her from, say.. The house!
@BloodNinja how long do the LRG take to ship after the pre order period stops. Is there usually an estimated shipping date?
NINJA INFORMATION REQUIRED.
Looks great, but sadly I reached my limit for this month ^3^
@Kidfunkadelic83 Sadly, with recent orders things took longer than usual. The first game I ordered took around 3 months after the preorders closed. But then covid slowed things down, and then towards the end of 2020 they moved their entire warehouse to a new location, so that slowed things down even further. If I remember right, I ordered Doom 64 at the end of September, and just got it last week, so that's nearly 6 months. They are usually a little faster. I got Turok and Bloodstained in 3 months, each. I'm sure the recent events slowed the more recent orders.
They are slow, but they are reliable and have great customer service if you need it. I've ordered 4 games from them and have not had any issues, so far.
I hope that helps.

@DTfeartheBEARD Hahha, awesome! I look disheveled if my beard gets too full, just doesn't grow in so evenly! I get away with it by wearing an entire ninja outfit to the grocery store.
That was a joke, in case anyone is following along. I only wear the ninja outfit to work. Geeze.
NINJA APPROVED
Awesome! Will get this!
@Tipehtfomottob no but their extremely limited number of copies (even standard editions) do no favor, most of the time they go out of stock just moments after the announce a physical release. Happened to me couple times in the past and decided to never trust them
@Flashlink99 Unlike Super Rare Games, LRG don't have 'extremely limited' number of copies of their planned releases. They have a pre order window. If you complete an order before that window closes, you are guaranteed a copy of whatever game you have ordered once it goes into production. This is why it takes a long time to receive an order as LRG won't commence production until after the pre order window closes. Super Rare Games on the other hand only make 5000 copies of their games available and these are usually ready for immediate dispatch.
I've never understood why people get excited for these when they are such blatant rip offs.
You can pick the slayers edition up for £25 and that includes 2016 as well as Doom 1-3.
The only good thing about these releases is that you can flip them for a nice profit. If people don't mind paying over the odds, might as well get a slice of that pie.
This looks awesome, not sure about the extra $50 for the light up box but the special edition looks great, sadly I missed out on the Doom 64 physical but I want this
@Mountain_Man
I think DoomGuy is on stage at an Ibiza foam party with some hand lights, and the demons are loving the vibes.
Those prices for the non-standard editions are mad.
However, its great that an actual physical edition of these great games is available
Nice collection but the price is mad especially if you live in the UK with the customs charge on top of the price I got these on the eshop for £1.99 each I would prefer physical but sometimes it’s easier and cheaper to just get a digital copy
Neeeeeeeeein, they truly want my Money?
@BloodNinja certainly does help. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Appreciate it 👍
@Kidfunkadelic83 Of course! Glad I could help!
@BloodNinja This will be my first LRG purchase i think.
That shadow box is really cool. Too expensive for me, but awesome for those who want it.
That’s cool and all but I’m still waiting on my bug fables physical
@Ghost_of_Hasashi yeah, I forgot about that earlier release.
Don‘t get me wrong, 30$ for the classic Doom games is OK, they are just not complete without Doom64.
But I still think the additions in the collector editions aren‘t worth the price. Just look at Bethesda‘s merch store what you could get for 50-100$ instead...
Edit: It seems, LRG has raised the price of the standard edition to 39,99$. So this means I am even not ok with the price for the games without additional stuff anymore. At least that merch is not an additional 50$ but „only“ 40$...
@Kidfunkadelic83 Very nice! I hope you enjoy it. I’m super stoked for this release. Been hoping for it for a long time.
Just toblet younknow, the actual price for the standard version is $39.99 and not $29.99 that you have stated in the artical
@Phillips455 LRG must have changed that. I also saw a price of 29,99$ on their website.
Edit: And several other news sites wrote about the same starting price.
@vanYth @Strange. I though it was my own imagination (regarding the $29.99 rate) but yeah.
Actually have what I want out of these already downloaded but good it is getting the physical treatment.
@jcboyer515 No, because you can't put stick directions on buttons.
How about a collection of all 6 episodes of "Wolfenstein 3D" + "The Spear of Destiny" expansion?
@jcboyer515 : I'm pretty sure you can't map analogue stick controls to the buttons and vice versa...
@BulbasaurusRex : I suppose that could be nice (I know I'd buy it), but the original Wolfenstein 3D games haven't aged well at all with their extremely repetitive level design and labyrinth style maps (due to the limitations of the engine). DOOM, on the other hand, is still every bit as fun now as it was back in 1993, and it well and truly set the benchmark for what would become the FPS genre.
In hindsight, Wolfenstein 3D seems like a glorified proof of concept (though a very ambitious one for its time), but consumer technology needed to catch up for the iD boys to realise their vision, and boy, did they blow it out of the water when they made DOOM.
I would much, much rather that they port the original Commander Keen games over. I don't understand why Keen 6 is still in copyright limbo though. Distribution rights for Keen 6 were turned over to the now long-dead publisher FormGen, but so was Spear of Destiny at the time, and that too was stuck in copyright hell for many years. I don't understand how Spear of Destiny finally managed to make it out unscathed (along with its bonus missions) while Keen 6 lies dormant. Keens 4-6 are among the best games ever made.
@Silly_G The relatively simplistic level design is the only thing that has aged more poorly than "Doom." Otherwise, "Wolf 3D" is still just as fun, plus its level of violence is at a much more acceptable level for many players, myself included.
This is very tempting as doom 1 and 2 on a physical cart would be nice on my shelf, but $40 is a little steep for me as I have them already on my Xbox. Doom. 3 I just can’t get into. I wish I had gotten doom 64 physical as that is right up there with 1 and 2 fir me.
