If you're still hunting down a great deal on Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch, you'll want to check out this monster reduction currently available in the UK. Sorry, we'll stop with the puns.
UK retailer ShopTo currently has the game available for just £34.85, taking a mighty 30% off the RRP before the game's even released. To top things off, this pre-order comes with a fancy Steelbook and two keyrings, making it the most value-for-money deal you're ever likely to see on a major Switch pre-order.
You can grab it at the link below:

Why pay more?

I will wait til it's under £20 in a few months.
That's an insane sale for a debut AAA, no?
I had this coming to my email. I immediately cancelled my Amazon pre-order and went with ShopTo. I think it's because it must be a really slow month for game retailers. Can't think of any other reason.
I just pre ordered for €40 😛, from what I've seen of this game it looks fun. So the discount was a win win for me.
After cancelling my collector's edition I got the standard version pre ordered from very for £45 - I needed to bulk up an order with them so I didn't mind paying a little more.
I wish I liked Monster Hunter, that's a great price for what looks to be a really good game.
Another affiliate link. Bypass it by googling the retailer and finding the product yourself.
@Broforce
Or you know, help support the site you take the time to visit and engage in.
I know few people in the Uk that order there and are happy, I stoped trusting Shopto after multiple messups when shipping to me (I don't live in the UK)
Not worth the hassle, had already a pre-order of it for €49.99 in my country (not to mention we now get import fees when ordering from the UK)
Fine deal if you live in the UK though.
@Broforce
If you don't want to support NL, why come here? You partake of the free content, but don't want to give anything in return? The site needs to make money somehow, and can only remain free of charge by doing so.
@jump highly doubtful
I was actually on the fence with this but jumped in at that price.
Fantastic price. Have used shopto in the past and always gives great prices
Phew. Thanks for the link! Was going to end up ordering from Amazon but this is a fantastic deal. Bless Shopto.
@jump
Generations Ultimate is on sale very rare. It's an old game and has the same price since release. I wish you luck for a good sale, but doubt it will happen soon.
I cancelled my Amazon order and ordered via the link here. Happy to support NL
First time shopping with shopto. Hoping it all arives okay with the free steel book and keyrings all in mint condition!
@jump
This isn't true, it's due to a price war between other UK retailers.
Generations ultimate on switch for £17?...
@jump
Yeah, I know that it is possible but I was talking more about the official eShop and popular sale platforms without shady sales tactics. Sorry if that was unclear.
edit: And I'm always cautious, when people use smileys to make a point.
@Broforce Yeah, it's much better all the profit goes to a big retailer than giving a tiny percentage to the website that told you about the deal...
@drachma Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is on sale on the eshop quite regularly and has been for the last 18 months on and off. I got mine from there for under £15.
It's worth checking it on Deku Deals as it has a graph of its price drops.
Amazing price.
@jump
Of course Nintendo is really bad regarding price drops for their major titles for many years. And yes, it's completely normal, that prices drop fast after release especially for retail games and digital when sales happen, which happens quite often on steam for example.
But to say people probalby don't try other games is just a bad assumption.
@Mangaphile
You're probably right. When I was looking for a sale I just had bad luck for a frined of mine to play with me. I got it years back.
My point in general is, that I guess a price drop for Rise may not be happening for a while for official purchasing places. I dont want to be missunderstood.
This shall be no battle who finds the lowest price on the internet.
@jump
Ok
Edit: makes no sense anymore, because the comment I was referring to was deleted.
@RupeeClock They already gain revenue from the various ads plastered all over the site.
@jump
Yes but not by huge amounts. This will likely go back up to rrp to sell once released.
Your comment makes me wonder if you have even remotely followed the Switch market or any Nintendo market for that matter.
@Broforce
Ad banners might not be an sufficient source of revenue by itself, the affiliate links help.
And there's nothing sinister about them. They're fully disclosed, and they operate on a common interest.
@Broforce So you have determined that banner adverts are a sufficiently profitable revenue stream alone, for NL to stay afloat? I didn't realise you were privvy to their incomings and outgoings. The affiliate link gives NL a small % but it doesn't increase the price of the game for the consumer. In fact this is a welcome heads up for the cheapest physical version in the UK. I just saved £5. It's win, win for NL and the buyer. Not sure what the issue is to be honest?
Capcom probably found out through Google search data that the interest in MH Switch is not as high as what they had hoped. To be honest I forgot about this game entirely, but I m only a casual MH player.
I'm so tempted to buy the game at this price. I have World and 4 - didn't really get into the first and am still yet to get around to the second. Even so, I feel like this could be a series I really like once everything clicks into place...
@jump It's never going to happen. This has an extremely small print run and will only go up and up and UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPP
@drachma No battle required or intended. I didn't want to you have missed out on a good deal like I got!
At that price i'll bite. Only £5 more than i got Breath of the Wild at launch. Similar price as i got MH 4 Ultimate and Generations at launch.
@JaxonH Since you're the resident MH superfan, you're probably the best to ask: With prior MH games have you found that prices drop relatively quickly or stay the same?
I was going to get it day 1, but I ended up getting Amalur and am really hooked on it in little stops and starts so far, so MH feels almost like an interruption. If they don't drop in price (digital sales mostly) readily, I might as well just buy it and get on the hype train. If they do drop in price I may be better off buying it in a while and save some cash (ugh, but Nocturne in 2 months........SMT comes before everything. Even bathing. )
@Mangaphile
That's good to know!
That’s a great price and you can still add a mag amiibo to create your own collectors edition. Game+ steel+ Keyrings+ Amiibo + dlc
£34+21+13 = collectors edition for £68 less pin and stickers.
That's a great deal for the UK! Rise better debut at #1 😁
Got this deal a week or so back. Looking forward to playing it when it... Erm... Rises to the top of the backlog queue
@Broforce why would you go out of your way to do that?
@TheLightSpirit Wait whats not available in Ireland? I preordered from shopto and it let me go ahead with the order without notifying me anything. Are you talking about the steelbook and key ring that comes with the order that isn't available ?
@NEStalgia
MH games do ultimately drop in price, but not quickly. Due to their popularity and long leg evergreen sales curves, most MH games don't start getting discounts until a year or so out. I can't predict the future obviously, I can only speak to historical trends. You will eventually see Rise discounted to the $30 mark, maybe less, but that will be years down the line once the Ultimate version releases. I wouldn't expect to see any significant drop in price until Christmas.
Never been able to take to Monster Hunter games, much in the same way I haven't been able to take to Animal Crossing. I want to like them but it just doesn't seem to click with me, trying to decide whether to give it another go or not.
@JaxonH I figured you'd know! Thanks...probably means I should just jump on the hype train now then. So I can kick myself in November for not waiting on a game I played for only a few hours and saved
I really want the keyrings, but my pre-order comes with cards instead. No fair.
@jump Yeah, well I've opened thirteen outlets selling only this game with all the copies I snapped up.
