E3 is the biggest gaming show on the planet, and is where companies like Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft show off their biggest titles and make their most significant announcements.
The show takes place between June 12th and June 14th this year, and Nintendo has just pushed its E3 2018 site live.
Details are a little thin on the ground at present, but the site does remind you that the Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2018 and Splatoon 2 World Championship will both be held during the event.
Be sure to bookmark the page for future updates over the next few months. What games do you hope Nintendo will show this year?

Mario sunshine HD
Pikmin 4
Metroid Prime trilogy remastered!
screaming progressively louder
I'd like to see more Smash footage (which is all but assured), a Splatoon platformer, more Labo kits.
And in the darkest depths of my mind I still retain hope for an eventual ARMS RPG.
@MH4 with a Smash invitational it’s 100%
Pikmin and Metroid please!
@ValhallaOutcast That's exactly what I meant! 😂
I hope this time Fire Emblem will definitely appear in E3, they kinda have too since they didn't announce in Nintendo Direct.
Oh, and the Tales game they said would to switch,to be a switch exclusive, I believe...
New Advance Wars, F-Zero, Pikmin, and Golden Sun for Switch. That's all I want Nintendo, I miss all my favorite GBA & GameCube franchise.
Mother 4/Reboot is Retro Studios game.
GAMECUBE VIRTUAL CONSOLE?
Please... :
1. Animal Crossing Switch
2. Re:Legend
3. Little Dragons Cafe
4. Pokemon Switch
5. My Time at Portia for Switch
During E3 2018
@NintendoKnight Hope you wish does come true but with Luigi's Mansion on 3ds That could become a port cube machine. Hope not though don't want thousand year door and resi 4 on no 3ds lol.
Rating Pending under smash bros. Can ports be "rating pending?"
just give me mario strikers 3 and golden sun remake
@Ledgendt Ports can't be rating pending, at least direct ports can't. Remasters might have PRs. Ports also have a string of copyright. Bayo 2 on Switch for example had a copyright "2014-2018" while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had a copyright of "2014-2017". Smash Switch so far has an official copyright of "2018" and nothing else. This shows it's a new game because you can't just change the copyright so easily without a whoooooole lot of paperwork.
These were the official reasons. As for unofficial reasons, new logo, logo doesn't line up with the Smash 4 logo. New game must be there since Smash is a bestseller and it can push more units to Switch and other unofficial, unproved and mostly "wishlist"-like reasons. If you're looking for Smash being a port or sequel, read the previous paragraph for Rock solid proof.
The switch needs a pikmin 4. Hopefully it'll show
@Ledgendt yes because even it’s a port there is 100% gonna be new content like characters which means it needs to be rated again
@Yasaal I think I’ve seen screen shots disproving the copy right thing , MK8 deluxe had copyright 2017 in its reveal not a string
Bring it on! My Switch is so ready to become even better.
@Ledgendt It got rating pending cause the ESRB is still not sure what contents it'll contain cause if you look at past Smash Bros. games while Super Smash Bros. for N64, 3DS, and Wii U are rated E, both Melee and Brawl are rated T for Teen (probably due to the more darker contents seen in Story Mode perhaps).
What has retro studios been doing for 5 years?
1. Animal Crossing Switch
2. Animal Crossing Switch
3. Animal Crossing Switch
4. Animal Crossing Switch
5. Animal Crossing Switch
I think I might lose my sanity if they don't announce it at this year's E3.. or perhaps I already have, not like I'd notice anymore anyway.
@jswhitfield8 Better yet a mix of all three.
I wish I could go to E3 again this year! It was such a blast last year. I am really looking forward to seeing how different Nintendo's booth is this year now that Super Mario Odyssey's hype has died down.
E3 will be here before we know it! I hope to at least see a few details on Fire Emblem Switch, Prime 4 (or at least a rumble of news/progress), Pokemon Switch, Smash is a given, and maybe actual release dates for The World Ends With You: Final Mix and Luigi's Mansion 3DS.
@ValhallaOutcast Haven't seen those reports so can't comment on that. Anyway I doubt an (enhanced) port could also be allowed a non-string copyright. That's how the law works, at least in the States. Don't know about UK tho. I mean, I saw the US trailer with the copyright thing, not the UK edition, which is why me and most US outlets are confident it's a sequel in terms of copyright.
@Yasaal here is the the reveal trailer that says 2017 copyright at the end

@Anti-Matter Animal Crossing and Pokemon are very likely, but the other three are smaller games, unlikely to be shown at E3
Mario Maker
Really excited for e3 this year more so than the last few. The PS4 is really in its prime and you know Nintendo is gonna come with some big surprises I'm sure. Really hoping for a 2D mario and Animal Crossing personally. Only about 2 and a half months away now!
I'll be surprised if we don't hear something about Pikmin 4 this year.
EarthBound/Mother 3 remake collection with original games included.
Metroid Prime Trilogy which Nintendo releases right after E3. Those 3 games will keep me busy all summer & fall.
A new 2D Super Mario Brothers please!
Although that probably won't happen until 2019 / 2020
1. I hope we get another Fire Emblem Echoes remake, but this time for The Sacred Stones
2. Super Mario Sunshine 2. I want more F.L.U.D.D.!
3. Retro Studies has been working on a new Ice Climber or new Custom Robo.
4. Shantae announced in Smash.
5. An early trailer for the Super Mario Bros. Movie
Animal Crossing
Phantasy Star Online (it's about time, SEGA, come on)
Metroid Prime 4
Advance Wars Switch
Final Fantasy for Switch
3D Castlevania (I'm probably in the minority here but I've always thought it would be awesome)
Evolution Worlds for Switch
Pokémon (I don't like it, but it would sell Switch consoles which means more games)
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for Switch (my favorite Sonic game)
Mario Party 11 (Come on, Nintendo, it's about party time)
Mentions of Virtual Console (or whatever they're going to call it)
Update on the online service
Mario Party 11 would make me soooo happy.
New 2D Mario.
Virtual Console/Nintendo Online Membership info.
Pokemon Switch.
Bayonetta 3.
Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Fire Emblem Switch and Virtual Console = my life is complete.
Hoping for Pikmin and Fire Emblem. Would make a very strong 2017 with Smash and Pokémon.
Persona 6, new game exclusive to the Switch for the first year.
It will never happen, but one can dream. 😝
@electrolite77 It’s 2018.
@Thisismycomment
HA! Whoops.
An entirely new first-party 3D Platformer IP!
@Yasaal The game boxart shows the ports with different names as just copyright 2017. Not just MK8 Deluxe but also Pokken DX and Rayman Legends Definitive Edition. Tropical Freeze will say 2014-2018, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker will say 2014-2018 but Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition will only say 2018.
There is no definitive proof it is a new game or an enhanced port, rather certain things suggest one may be more likely than the other.
I want Nintendo to WAUW me with a new mature IP. Show us how much you've really changed Nintendo! Please.!
I’m sorta dreading E3 right now. I already have a backlog and a wishlist big enough that I’ve had to ignore my other systems to try to keep up and E3 is going to just ruin me.
i want to hear more about the new yoshi game
Pokemon Switch, Animal Crossing Switch, Golden Sun 1+2 Reboot Switch, Eternal Darkness: Sanity Requiem HD Switch, Tales of (Switch Exclusive Game)
@roro26 yes this would be a good improvement to sunshine.
