@RupeeClock can always sell those, likely for a profit. I was looking at buying them off ebay last night and each goes for at least $50.

I'm sure demand won't vanish with this release, since it's usually collectors that want to have every single physical game that tend to buy this stuff.

I am likely just going to import this one via Play Asia, but should limited run anounce the third in stand alone format, I might be still tempted to buy all 3 separately.

@Mr-Fuggles777 don't think UB makes goty editions. Next best thing is keeping your eyes open for a Gold Edition sale. They had some sales for like $70 during chtismas. Would not be shocked if within 2 years we see the gold Ed for around 25-30, as we seen AC Odyssey many times now.

Almost. If there is a company with the resources to get away with it, it's MS. They would not think twice about creating a new Japanese company to own them if that was what it took.

MS already owns a Japanese subsidiary (Microsoft Japan) with its own CEO. They could make any Japanese acquisition under that subsidiary.

Because I got an email promoting the game in the US, and it said the DLC is just a code. I would take a blank interior import if it has all on cart!

@okeribok the US is basically half the console market. It's not near half the gaming market, but globally that market has a lot more PC/Mobile share.

Its unlikely that Epic will win, but make no mistake, no console will survive if they can't control the distribution and royalties on their closed ecosystems in the US.

I been saying this since the start of this whole ordeal: There is no way Epic wins against Apple without completely destroying the business model all consoles need to exist at all.

If they win, the days of console gaming are numbered.

Not a Minecraft fan but this is an awesome pick! Whatever anyone feels, it can't be Debbie's Minecraft is one of the biggest games in history, and deserved main roster representation ages ago!

Find it crazy they actually fixing the character the ability to build stuff in the middle of any stage map!

Wonder if every one of these characters is considered a Shadow Fither with minor move differences. Fact they introduced 4 and not 8 makes me think this is not just simple skin swaps.

For years now I been dying to see a game that brings a new villain to the Mario games designed after that original version of Bowser. Make him Bowsers brother, or hell, grandpa Bowser. Retcon it so all these years Bowser never been King Koopa, but Prince Koopa!

Being a publisher means they will take the risk and finance development, up front. If the game flops, the developer is not forced to close doors. So, of course it's about money, that is what any good publisher brings to the table.

I feel like this game should be played with a classic ball mouse. No modern optical mouse!

For the most part, if the game is side-scrolling or top-down (be it rpg, Metroidvania, platformer or Zelda-like) I will always prefer it on the Switch because I can play it anywhere. I prefer (usually) to play more 3D games on traditional consoles. FPS, 3D platformers, third person adventures, all those I rather play on my Xbox (these days.)

There are exceptions. I prefer a side scrolling fighter like Street Fighter on traditional consoles, and sometimes i find it appealing to play a lengthy but slow paced 3D game on the switch (example: Skyrim)

Anyways, because if this I pre-ordered bloodstained for the Switch and still waiting for that final quality patch.

I personally can’t believe the success came as a surprise, didn’t the 8bit game give them enough numbers to realize the series was going to sell best in Switch? Or did they truly delay the game for Switch only to discourage its purchase??

Although it would be nice if Apple offered iPhone users a hard way to side-load apps, I still take Apples side on this.

You don’t just go into someone else’s stores and set up your own kiosk inside. Imagine if Kellogg’s shipped a bunch of cereal boxes to Walmart with a button that you clicked to have that same thing delivered to your door, via direct order, bypassing the store.

Hell even Google agrees with Apple as they also took down the app from Google Play.

I also honestly doubt they will win this. You think Amazon has not tried to get away with the same to sell music and digital media via their app?

I have never said all accusations are true, but all should be taken seriously and investigated, and when the accusations are a steady non-stop stream over 20 years, you got to get off your mártir spotlight and accept something is wrong.

I loved the games, have not dived into the dlc though.

I do wish the pokemon company would finally leverage their multi-media emporium and add voice acting to these games, and cut scenes that looked more anime-style.

These people not getting fired just on “we heard.” You can be sure they get investigated enough. In many cases, everyone knew about their track records.

In this case? The guy basically admitted it himself in his response. Of course he does not think he coerced anyone, in his mind, his only wrongdoing is just a master in the set of seduction.

The linked article in question shows not just a vague accusation, but almost 20 years worth of accusations, 37 in total and that’s just the ones that have come forth.

Makes it frustrating when it’s known a fantastic piece of art or story telling comes from the mind of a terrible person, since usually consuming such content puts money on their pockets, perpetuating whatever form of abuse they might be responsible for.

I guess it’s why some just don’t want to know about it and prefer to dismiss it, easier to just enjoy things they like if they don’t have to think about that.

Easier to just defend the abuser and blame “cancel culture” or say “they are just unproven accusations”, that way they can feel better about putting money on horrible peoples pockets.

@Cheez it’s up to you but if you want to do a comparison check, you can hop on camel camel camel and see the amazon price history post launch for games lie Mew Super Mario Bros Wii U Deluxe, see how often and how quick it saw price drops.

I’ll personally just put a watch on the game with an alert to be notified whenever it hits $45 or less.

@Cheez my advice would be: if you want to play this version, just wait a bit longer post launch. In the last few years, Nintendo has taken the habit of doing quite frequent sales for their first party games, they rarely go under $45, but $45 is still a significant cut from $60. I dare bet there will be a $45 sale for this game by Christmas time.

If you just want to play it on the cheap, and still enjoy playing on your Wii U, just get the Wii U version, but keep in mind you might later be tempted to buy the DLC, increasing the price tag. And you wont really get access to the new content (whatever that new content is.)

I’m so disappointed this thing is not even user-assembled. I understand it can’t be a mini fig, but I would had hope it at least was closer to a brick headz figure.

Cheat all you want on a single player game, just don’t take those cheats online. In other words: don’t share your time-traveled island for dreams.

Got my LRG copy on the mail a couple days ago. Have not opened it yet.

Would had been interesting concept, looking at the two screens instead of split screen. I’m still buying this game, but the split screen thing is a it jarring.

Ghost had a huge hype campaign for years. Paper Mario was just announced a month early. It’s impressive it’s even that high. And things being what they are, I would not be shocked to see Ghost drop abruptly while Mario continues to sell steadily for a month or two.

This is great news, it’s a fantastic game and everyone should have a chance at playing it regardless console of choice.

Besides, when I buy a game for Switch, I don’t do it out of exclusivity, I do it because I can play it anywhere.

@ANewOnez @gojiguy I guess it depends on the country, every country can get different, but living in the US, i can easily see lawyers leveraging an invoice to claim "that's what they asked for, that's what they got paid for." Even in the states, success of such a claim would fluctuate from state to state.

@ANewOnez still sounds weird to me. Book authors, actors, directors, all deal with the same and they just have means to audit discrepancies later, still get paid as agreed in the meantime.

To me, it sounds like the publisher in this case would be able to use the invoice as a legal shield where the work author never gets paid until they either run a full audit or forgo the right to do one at a later point.

To me it sounds so weird anyone in this situation would have to invoice to get paid. Why not send payment alongside the sales report? I’m sure there was already a share agreement.

Lots of money,m! But for some reason, sounds a low amount for a “holy grail” between collectors... kinda hope he is running an auction and not just selling to first offer, or he might be in the same situation his brother was 20 years ago, only this time 5 figures behind 😅

Was hoping for a Nintendo Mario direct, but as a basic Direct, I enjoyed 3 out of 5 announcements. Can’t wait for Shin Megami Tensei 3&5 and a physical copy of Candence
