Re: Lucas DLC Confirmed for 14th June Release on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS

@Zombo
Think about this:

  • The retail price of SSB Wii U is $59.99. That includes 37 fighters, all the levels, stages, trophies, modes, event matches, etc.
  • The Lucas DLC costs $4.99. That includes 1 fighter and nothing else.
  • $4.99 out of $59.99 is 8.3%
  • You are paying 8.3% of the full retail price for only ONE fighter!
  • If you were to get all 37 fighters (forget about the rest of the actual game!) and divide each one by $59.99, each character would be worth $1.62
  • Therefore, if you round up and for Nintendo to make an extra profit, a fair asking price for the Lucas DLC would be $1.99.
  • Conclusion: Nintendo is overcharging an extra $3.00, which I think is unfair.

@Caryslan
Yeah, I agree that it would be nice if they could bundle the characters together. Lets say a "3 Fighter Bundle"... it could include two previous SSB fighters like Mewtwo and Lucas, and a new one. Another bundle might include Roy and Pichu, and a new one.
Or maybe one old fighter and two new ones. That could be worth the $8 price tag.

Re: Talking Point: The Fragility of Buying Download Games

@WinterIceFox @Grumblevolcano !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was always under the impression that a game that was purchased and downloaded from the Virtual Console (Ex: Super Mario World) would be kept on my Wii U hard drive!!!
But I don't get it... If I download Super Mario World (software) onto the hard drive, how would Nintendo have access to it and be able to delete it?
And since the Super Mario World software is a self contained game that does not require online connectivity, why would a server dying out automatically delete the game on my console?
