Re: Lichtspeer Developer Suggests That Nintendo Has Switch Achievements in the Works

I guess I fall in the lines of a Nintendo fanboy, but I'm not going to say on here that achievements and trophies are unneeded or unwelcomed on Nintendo systems because of ignorance and fanboy/fangirl logic .

I personally enjoy achievements, they add more value to the game your playing buy completing challenges that the developers believe that are fun. Achievements have open up many game play possibilities which I didn't know were possible if it wasn't for achievements.

Same here bro, this generation has been so terrible, I ended up have to hooked up all of my old system and plugging them through a Framemister to play them on my HD TV. The early years of the Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U was not cutting it for me, so this also got me into retro collecting which I am really enjoying as well.

In my opinion in regards to Nintendo the golden era was the GameCube & Gameboy Advance generation, where we had the opportunity to play amazing 3D games on the GameCube and great 2D games on the GBA. There were no micro transactions, No mandatory installations for games, no day one patches, no idiots fighting about resolutions and fps. Before the PS4 and Xbox One you simply just slap in a game and it plays with no problems, with a few exceptions.

I started gaming on the Nintendo entertainment system and Sega Genesis , and think this has been the worst gaming generation ever (the early years of the Xbox One, PS4 & Wii U era was atrocious) because from what I mentioned earlier, but things now are changing because the PS4 is picking up momentum and the Nintendo Switch is truly something special, but we will see what the future holds.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that lots of consumers personal PC's were still using floppy Disks. Having dial up internet and a high end PC back in 1999, well you were in a small minority.

Sad to hear that Piracy was a stronger factor in your country, SEGA, Capcom, and Midway truly made some awesome games for that system.

Piracy didn't kill the Dreamcast, the PS2 killed the Dreamcast because casuals loved the convenience that the PS2 could play DVD's, that same reason even effected the GameCube.
I can't tell you how many time when I was at BestBuy and Target were people completely snobbed there noses at the Dreamcast and GameCube just because it didn't play DVD's.

I didn't learn about the Dreamcast Piracy problem until the Dreamcast was already dead. I also had many friends that owned Dreamcast that never know about that Same issue.
