Re: Borderlands 4 Goes Down Well With Critics As Gearbox Acknowledges FOV Issue

MamaSymphonia

My friends and I have been enjoying the heck out of this one on PS5. I bought all the previous games on Switch and would be willing to double dip if it's a good port, but... let's just say it isn't the best looking OR best running game on PS5.

Similar situation to Monster Hunter Wilds where I'm like "okay it really doesn't look that good... why is it running so poorly?" Hopefully the port works out well and can hit 30 fps consistently.

Re: The Force Isn't Strong With Star Wars Outlaws On Switch 2, Initial Impressions Suggest

@N64-ROX Switch 1 was mostly getting ports of games from the previous generation like Skyrim, so it was no wonder they ran decently. The Witcher 3 and Doom 2016 were the first "current gen" ports, and they ran acceptably because the porting team was cracked, not because the Switch was super powerful.

Switch 2 is just unfortunately getting several dog**** ports by studios who couldn't give a ****. They just want to get their games on more platforms, regardless of quality. If they took their time, the product would be better.

Re: Mario Kart World Wins "Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game" Of Gamescom 2025

It's wild how some people want MKW to fail so badly, they want everyone to hate it and for sales to tank so their opinion can be validated, and yet it's one of the top selling games of the year and is winning awards.

They're SO CLOSE to waking up and realizing their opinion has been completely fabricated for them by the YouTube hatemongering machine, and that it's not as bad of a game as they say. So close.

Re: Round Up: The Final Previews Are In For Mario Kart World

MamaSymphonia

I've already seen enough to know this open world is colorful, vibrant, and bustling with surprising details. I'm looking forward to just vibing there. I don't need too much else to do.

At the end of the day, the open world is just a bonus on top of what we're all here to do: race and slap each other with bananas. If you're expecting more out of the core gameplay then this is not the franchise you're looking for.

@MCHuddle A question only you can answer for yourself.

I will tell you this much, five years ago when game prices jumped up to $70, comments were very much like they are now. You know...

"I'll just wait for a sale."
"No way is any game worth $70."
"I can't believe they're making paid DLC for a $70 game!"

But the majority of people clearly did think those bigger and better experiences were worth more money, cause many AAA games sold gangbusters. The ones loudly complaining on the internet eventually went silent, either because they realized $70 was still crazy cheap for the amount of entertainment on offer, or just learned to live with it. It'll be the same this time, too.

Is the first Mario Kart in 11 years worth $80 to me? Yes, yes it is.

Re: New Videos Show How Fantasy Life i Has Been Beefed Up On Switch 2

@Medic_alert The difference between the S1 and S2 version is $2.59, lol. That's worth doubling the frame rate and resolution, in my opinion.

I kinda feel like you're gonna say "yeah, but you have to buy a $450 piece of hardware to use the S2 version." In which case, my guy, nobody's buying a Switch 2 just to play the Switch 2 version of Fantasy Life lol. They're buying it for Mario Kart right now, and holdouts will probably buy it when Animal Crossing, Splatoon, or Zelda drops. The fact that Switch 1 games run ANY better on it is just a nice bonus.

@Medic_alert It's been 25 years since the last time anyone bought a Nintendo console because of how well third party games run on it compared to the competition. If someone's buying Fantasy Life i on Switch (like me), it's for the convenience of having the game alongside the new Mario Kart, 3D Mario, Zelda, and whatever other Nintendo games we get blessed with this generation lol.

Re: Nintendo Shares Video Detailing New N64 Features For Switch Online

@RenanKJ There was no N64 emulator in 2005 that could rewind gameplay, trust me. Rewind essentially works by creating a save state every second (or every few seconds), which has been prohibitively taxing for N64 games until fairly recently. Only a few emulators nowadays support it, and it's not exactly seamless and polished as it most certainly will be in this version.
