That is how you do a retro system! Too back they could not have partnered with Nintendo to make it official. I will be keeping an eye on this one. Wow!
@Hey-Cha-La Thanks for the update. I have the 3D cart even though I already on most of the games digitally. I hate buying games more than one but the cart was worth it for a couple of games that were not released already. I just hoped the cart would have featured more unique games not previously released as a nod to those of us who have been supporting the 3D Classics already via the e-shop. I do love that fact that the Sega 3D Classics games are 50% off! Nice! Also, did anyone notice the "Funds Needed" option in the pay menu? I HATED having credits left over after buying a game and now you can just pay for the games you actually want to buy. I don't know if I missed this before but I am glad it is there.
@Hey-Cha-La They are regular price for me too here in the U.S. e-shop. Does anyone know what is happening? I want to get Streets of Rage but I also want to take advantage of the sale.
@tigermask It was worth it for me just for Power Drift and Maze Walker (I will always know as Maze Hunter 3D). Like you I already own most of these titles already. If you get it you can always delete those titles from you 3DS and play then from the cart if you are running low on space.
I got my copy of M2 form the e-shop. Still don't understand why we don't get the Super Gameboy color pallet options for e-shop releases. For this reason I have my original GB version of the game I play on my back lit modded original GBA. Even that release splashes some colors on the screen. It is a great game sorely needing some color but I'm glad this the creator of this fan made game is classy and I'm glad his skills got him a job.
These programmers did in their free time what Nintendo could not do for retail? We really need a proper remake of Metroid II. It is a shame Nintendo has not done this already. How long ago did they do Metroid Zero Mission? That game was AWESOME. Come on Nintendo. Obviously the interest is out there for Metroid II.
The game is already done and there is some serious talent on display here. Not a time to be proud. Nintendo should be flattered. In the very least Nintendo should reach out to this guy, offer some input and officially release the game in the e-shop. Didn't Capcom do something similar with Mega Man X Street Fighter?
Agreed. There were/are so many great WiiWare titles it is hard to believe this would have not been possible even with their 40 MB space limit. It actually seamed like a no brainer. The originals on VC and this enhanced version on WiiWare. Oh well
AMAZING system! This is why I have one hooked up to my TV now! The Turok series, Killer Instinct Gold and Rogue Squadron are still some of my all time favorite games.
Why did they not release Metroid Prime Hunters on the 3DS and include Circle Pad Pro support our dual analogue support. If it has that I would not care if it was not in 3D although it would be nice if it was. Seems like such a missed opportunity to release it on the WiiU and not the 3DS
The Wii Remote was the only one of the motion controls that really worked and Nintendo really dialed it in with Wii Motion Plus. Big mistake by Nintendo. I better stock up on my Wii Motion Plus controllers now before the price skyrockets in the secondary market.
I have most of these games already I was hoping for individual releases. I really want Power Drift and Maze Walker aka Maze Hunter 3D. Does anyone know if Maze Walker will use the soundtrack from the Sega Master System FM sound chip?
I think the original Wii VC does not get enough credit for its picture quality especially playing through some component cables. N64 games especially looks nice, so nice in fact that I am only a few games short of owning all the Wii VC N64 games.
Looks cool but I will stick with my original GBA with a bright back lit screen mod. This this is perfect. It has the form factor of the original GBA with the brighter back lit screen of the SP and I love the ability to play GB and GBC games on it. I'm all for original hardware. If you don't want to go through the hassle of adding a back lit screen yourself you can get some really well done modded GBAs from E-bay. That's what I did and I LOVE it!
Can't say I am too surprised, At least I got GBC Shantae and the 2 GBC Zelda games. It was surprising Nintendo didn't even include any color options for original GB games like Metroid 2 or DK or even DK Land on VC. Oh well, this is why I have a back lit modded original GBA system to play all the other GB, GBC and GBA games I want. Have to say I am really enjoying the GBA DK Country games as well as the GBC DK Land games and Super Ghouls'N Ghosts is as awesome as I remember it.
Power Drift is AWESOME! Maybe we will see Rad Mobile 3D but I am glad to see Maze Walker a.k.a. Maze Hunter 3D and it eve sounds like it has the FM music! I had so many great memories with that game on Sega Scope 3D. Please come to NA!!!
I love the first 2 games and this one look amazing. I just did not hear about it. Sad but marketing can make you or break you sometimes despite the actual time and effort you put into your product.
As DreamOn and Morph said, the 3D is AMAZING and it stays in focus a lot easier than many other 3D titles. ( I have the regular 3DS XL) I have played the original game over and over again but the 3D really stands out to make this the definite version of the game. Do yourself a favor and complete the experience buy using headphones when you play. 3D and 2D shooters go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly!
First of all I want to say, "Thank you Mr. Iwata for your passion for just making games fun. Your games helped shape my childhood and have ignited my passion for video games to this day." This is a very sad day. Mr. Satoru Iwata was not just a CEO but he was a gamer and cared about games. He was a breath of fresh air in an industry that could be cut throat and soulless. Although not all his choices were popular he had a great respect for the Nintendo brand and fought to keep it safe. RIP Satoru. My prayers go out his family and friends. We lost a giant in the gaming industry. You will be missed and "video gaming" not just Nintendo will not be the same without you!
(1) HD remakes of the original Saturn Panzer Dragoon games
(2) HD remake of Panzer Dragoon Saga
(3) True modern sequel for Panzer Dragoon Saga
(4) True modern sequel of Golden Axe
(5) True modern sequel of Space Harrier
(6) Modern HD remakes of the original Phantasy Star games 1, 2, 3 & 4
(7) True modern sequel to Phantasy Star 4, Phantasy Star 5!
If they did this, I know not only would I be happy but they would have earned back many, many gamers
Oh yeah,
(8) The completion of the Shenmue series!
And
(9) HD remake of the original Burning Rangers and a sequel would not hurt
I LOVED Epic Mickey and the sequel. I am a proud owner of them both. I even sprang for the "Collector's Edition" which came with a bonus DVD and an awesome special edition Mickey Mouse figure. During a time when some third party developers did not want to put any effort into the Wii, Mr. Spector and his team did. I will always respect them for that. I have always been a fan of 3D platformers and I LOVED all the little Disney Easter eggs they put in the game. Even today, outside of Nintendo, you don't see many 3D platformers. Because of this (1) I'm never getting rid of my N64 and (2) I will always have my Wii to play games like Epic Mickey!
This is a fantastic game. I'm happy to say I have an original game disc for my Sega CD This gives more people an opportunity to play this amazing game!
The real question is, is this going to come out for the 3DS?
Mario Kart 7 for me! It would have been nice for Platinum members to get 1 game form the Platinum list and one for the Gold but again we are getting full retail games so I'm happy
Good bye Club Nintendo. You will be missed. It looks like all things must come to an end. I enjoyed the ride. It really was a very good rewards program.
Nice to see all the love for the Sega CD. The Sega CD me into retro gaming again. I actually loved Sewer Shark. When I saw that no Sega CD games were being released on the Nintendo VC I decided it was time to get an actual system. Since then I got the Sega Genesis (obviously) along with the 32X. I also picked up a Nintendo 64 and haven't looked back since.
To be honest, I love the features of the New 3DS XL but my regular black 3DS XL works just fine plus I have the Circle Pad Pro which is great for my big hands. (I for one missed the Sega Nomad because it fit in my hands perfectly)
This might sound strange but instead of getting the New 3DS XL I actually bought a Playstation Vita + a 64 GB memory card. I found one for a great price. My 3DS XL is practically brand new with no problems but because of Cross Play with my PS3 I have 12 Vita games but no Vita. I will most likely upgrade to the New 3DS when my 3DS breaks but for now it made more sense for me to get a Vita.
Thanks man. That's what I loved about the Moon Chronicles. It would have been such a shame to leave out CPP support. I will just have to check this out when it comes out.
It is nice to see some Sega Master System Sega Scope 3D games finally getting some love! Space Harrier 3D was actually a new game in the series and not just a 3D update. I'm not sure about Out Run. Here's hoping for Maze Hunter 3D and an e-shop release!
BTW will the 3DS ever be able to show 3D Youtube vidoes?
That colorized screen shot of Wario Land looks INCREDIBLE! I have wanted colorized versions of Virtual Boy games since the original 3DS was first released. I'm still waiting for the Sega Scope 3D games to come to the e-shop.
With the slow down in ood e-shop games I decided to rediscover great games already in the WiiWare library and downloaded this game and it ROCKS!!! I had NO problems with the controls. I am using the Classic Controller Pro. Plus it looks great and sharp via component cables. As Omega said it looks like the game issues from before have been fixed. Because of this, I wish this game was re-reviewed. Both it and its game developers deserve a better score. I would say and 8-9 easily!
