He offered first and if he is not going to use them I know I would put them to good use. We are in a recession after all.
It's a low point for me too. I really wanted this game. I actually bought Pyramids for the 3DS to tide me over until this game came out, but as far as the points go, you know what they say about opportunity knocking
In preparation for this I just bought a 32 GB SD card for my 3DS. SD cards are not that much anymore. For less than the price of many retail games I got a 32 GB Class 10 San Disk Ultra SD card for $33.99 w/ free shipping at amazon.com. I am a little worried though. I know my 3DS will not last forever and what about the inevitable 3DS XL with dual circle pads? If I load up games on my current 3DS will the games be playable on another 3DS or are the games system specific.
BTW Nintendo, I am STILL waiting for that DS update that will allow me to save games on to my SD card and play them. DS and DSi Ware games are better on the DS XL.
Agreed. I buy used games too. I'm not made of money. I try to buy games new when I can to support the people behind the game and their efforts such as Skyward Sword and recently Xenoblade Chronicles and definitely Last Story.
As many people said, I think many core games gave up on the Wii. Personally I don't see why because there are SO many great games for the system aimed at the core player but "people" did not buy them and those game developers suffered. Right now I have so many games and no time to play them so I don't understand when people say "I sold my Wii because of a lack of games."
Oh well, I also know a lot of it is in perception. Real gamers know a good game when they see one but for the masses, the sheep, the Wii was not "cool" enough so they didn't get it or moved on.
It will be interesting if Nintendo will try to change its image for the Wii U.
Oh well. All I can say is I bought it and I love it an the music cd was an AWESOME bonus! Thank you again Nintendo!
I really hope Nintendo continues to be Nintendo and does not sell out and just try to make money for the sake of money. Keep making quality games and I know I will continue to buy them.
Too bad we live in a society where people think that having the ability and knowledge to steal something gives you a right to take it without paying for it. They live a life with no core, no inner moral code. I can't change those people but I know I will NEVER be like them.
I finally was able to actually play the game and it is EPIC! The title screen alone is beautiful both visually and musically. The graphics are AMAZING! This game truly shows how much other developers did not try on the system AND if you don't have componet cables by now to play 480p, this game alone is reason enough to go out and buy some.
Although the lack of American voice actors was a surprise, I have to say I love the European accents. It fits and reminds me of the epic stories of times past with knights, swords and kings.
If people in N.A. don't buy this game and still complain about the Wii's lack of quality titles...well there is just no hope for them.
Thanks NOA. Sadly, although I pre-ordered, I missed the art book. The guy at Gamestop said the art books were extremely limited and only a few people who pre-orded them got them. At least I got a sample of the art with the reversible game cover which I quickly switched out.
Too cool. Those guys at Google are too cool. I just used it and it is interesting seeing the street view of an area in 8 bit color. Impressive. Very impressive.
I don't mind it being a slow week. There are so many great 3DS VC and 3DS Ware titles already released I'm still trying to catch up PLUS I am trying to get caught up on all the Wii VC games I do not have for fear they will be removed.
I just got the Circle Pad Pro and was a little disappointed that dual stick control is not supported Other than that it is a great game. Here's hoping for a dual stick download patch
@ Zergling
That is a great idea!!! I will have to revisit those games with the stand as well. Thanks!
Again SWEET! I love the idea that this is not just a rehash of the game for the Wii and the 360/PS3 and that fact that it is a sequel to one of the best Mickey Mouse platformers shows some serious respect to the Mickey's gaming roots. Impressive, very impressive.
Wait, if this is a sequel to Castle of Illusion, what does that make World of Illusion???
GREAT NEWS! Thank you Mr. Spector for not forgetting the Wii. Much respect. I don't understand why people are getting upset for this not being a Wii U game. The Wii U is not even established and as was mentioned before there are millions of Wii owners. By making it for the Wii the Spector team and build on what they learned from making the original and rather than trying to lean new hardware they can make a kick but Wii game that can also be played on the Wii U.
I would much rather have a purpose built Wii game that maximizes what the Wii can do rather than a down graded 360/PS3 port or a rushed Wii U 1st gen version that may be loaded with bugs because the team does not know the strengths of the system AND I would not be able to play it on the Wii.
Again, good job Mr. Spector! I bought the Collector's edition for the first one and I will be getting the Wii version this time around as well. We might even see Wii Motion Plus support! Sweet!
Sadly, you did miss the point but thanks for the video link.
That games looks great! It is nice to see someone showing some love to the old school 16 bit systems. I still have my Genesis, 32X, Sega CD super combiner system. I would love to see more games for the Genesis or even see what these guys could do with a Sega CD or 32X or even a truly epic Sega CD 32X game.
I loved the first game and the camera was not much of an issue at all.
I am so glad it is coming out to the Wii. I loved the controls of the first. Thank you Mr. Spector for not selling out and still showing some love for the Wii
SWEET! Great review. It looks like all the hard work put into this game has been appreciated. I pre-ordered from Gamestop and I will also be getting a code for the 3DS Classics Kid Icarus too!
Oh well. Nintendo gamers really know what good games are and the world wide sales of the Wii, DS, 3DS and their respective AAA games tell the true story.
I am so glad Sega did not just adapt this game from an existing game but made this it's own entry. This is one of the games I missed since I never had a Game Gear and opted for a Nomad instead.
GG Shinibi ROCKS. It even has parallax scrolling! Very impressive for an 8 bit system. Although I like the retro Game Gear border, I love how you have the option to play as full, stretched screen and even the normal viewing mode fills up a big chunk of the screen. This will ensure I will buy more Game Gear games. I was not too keen on having to squint at tiny graphics in a small screen made smaller from a big Game Gear border.
There are still games I want to get on VC but I have no money. A heads up on if a game is going to be dropped would be nice so we can plan accordingly.
That is AWESOME for the 3DS but I don't understand something. If Nintendo knows that the size of the WiiWare games and DSiWare games are too small (as evident with the 3DS having a 2GB limit) why don't they just increase the size limit on the Wii and DS? Microsoft did it with Xbox live or is this limit built into the actual hardware?
I applaud the fact that Nintendo is not afraid to think outside of the box and give us so much variety. I know I am going to get this game once my paycheck comes around. Thanks again Nintendo!
This is a surprise. I thought we would get Sega Scope 3D games on the "3D"S before we get Game Gear games. Hmmmm.
With that said, I sure hope there is an option to stretch the screen. I don't need to see the GG border and I hope they give us the AWESOME GG Ninja Gaiden game.
I too would love a "Last Story" and "Pandora's Tower" announcement for North America. Also a Metroid Prime Hunters 3DS announcement & Virtual Boy on the 3DS e-shop would be icing on the cake. I can't wait
For some reason I have no interest in the PSP Vita. The tech is impressive but it just does not grab me like the 3DS did. The start up costs also bug me: Sony only memory, no backwards support for PSP games and on and on. On the other hand I really love my 3DS and do not regret getting one. The retail games rock, the down load games rock, all the free games rock (I'm an Ambassador), the free indie 3D videos each week rock, the 3D camera and video rock and the games truly provide a unique experience from a console system.
I am looking to upgrade my phone to get the Sony Xperia Play. Frankly I would not be surprised if some of the games from the Vita were ported to the Xperia Play. With the 3DS, and Experia Play as my phone, I see no need for the PSP Vita.
If graphics like this could be done with a game with as much content as I assume is going to be packed into this title, what excuse do developers have for putting out bad looking, feature lacking games on the Wii?
At least the Wii will be going out on a high note and it is a good thing the Wii U is backwards compatible.
I also agree. Great review and respect given to a great game. I highly recommend it. It is actually one of the games that made me go out and pick up another Sega Genesis. I could not wait for it on VC. If I did not have it already for the Genesis, I would pick it up in a heart beat. I just might pick it up anyways to support the VC and to be able to play it on my main TV.
I also have big hands. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was having hand cramps holding the 3DS. I thought I was holding it wrong, but it is just small especially when compared to my DSi XL. I welcome the added bulk of the Circle Pad.
I just wished I got a black 3DS instead of the blue one I have now At least black would blend in more with the add on
Wow. This is sweet! I am torn on Majora's Mask. I want to get it for the 3DS "if" Nintendo remakes it like Ocarina, but if they don't I end up missing this game at an incredible price and no glitches unlike the Zelda Collection for the Gamecube.
I am going to have to pick this game up for the 3DS ASAP. I missed out on the first two because I was waiting for the DSi SD card update that never came
I really hope Nintendo comes up with a better SD card solution for the DSi because I prefer to play my DSiWare games on my bigger DSi XL screens.
You are right. If people don;t by this game why should Nintendo bother to localize Last Story and Pandora's Tower. People have to put their money where their mouth is. Too many good game developers went under because too many people said they wanted a certain kind of game and when it came out, people did not buy it The ball is in our court with this game as well as what other RPGs that could come out state side.
Great news and I think actually smart on Nintendo's part. We all knew Skyward Sword would be awesome and with the Wii winding down, it makes sense to space out it's great games so people can actually play and complete a game before the next great game is released. Flood the market too soon and overall sales suffer. Smart move Nintendo and add some updates and/or bonuses while you are at it
Go Nintendo! That is why they produce the best games! I wish more companies would do this.
The Ferrari racing game comes to mind. There are no realistic racing games on the Wii worth mentioning. That game looks like it had the goods but it was rushed to market without the Wii Wheel controls tested and the game controls badly and suffered for it
I still enjoy my Gamecube games on my Wii which is another reason why I'm not going to be so quick to jump on the Wii U band wagon and keep my Wii for a while. If the Wii U is backwards compatible with both the Gamecube and the Wii then it will be a must buy but until then I will have to wait and see. I already have an Xbox 360.
I LOVE Kirby. I was actually introduced to Kirby on the 3DS VC. After beating it I immediately got it for the Wii VC.
