I think once developers really learned the Wii U we will see some fantastic games. For some reason I was reminded of the old 16 bit console wars and all the talk about how much faster the CPU on the Sega Genesis was compared to the SNES but once developers learned the SNES we saw games like Killer Instinct and Donkey Kong Country.
Sweet! Hopefully more people who did not know about Wii Ware and the VC on the Wii will discover it on the WiiU.
Not too long ago I had to send my Wii to Nintendo for repair. I would rather pay $90.00 to have my first gen Wii fixed than buy a stripped down new version. Because my system was not modded or hacked, they fixed it and even gave me a 1 year extended warranty. Non of my VC or WiiWare games worked so I had to download everything again. Good news is that I was able to download my games no longer on the service like Donkey Kong Country and Super Turrican with no problems. The bad news is that it literally took me all night to download all my games one by one. I have about 112 VC and WiiWare games on my Wii SD Card and there are still more I want to get.
@XCWarrior
Just what I was thinking. Well put. I just played a little of the game and it is AWESOME. I waited for the WiiWare version because for me it just belongs on a Nintendo system. I actually played some Mario Kart 64 via my Wii's VC too and it still is AWESOME and it is in 480P via component cables and looks better than it ever did.
Virtual Console and Wii Ware have hundreds of great games. I too can't understand when people says its dead. The only reason I can think of is that they pirated the games they wanted and downloaded the ROMS for free thus not caring to support third party developers or even Nintendo for that matter
I also have an Xbox 360 and PS3 and I actually have a N64, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Sega 32X, DS XL & 3DS and my Wii still gets some good play time. Heck I even play Gamecube games on it so my Wii definitely does not just sit around.
I love the Mega Drive/Genesis. It was the Sega Master System and Sega Genesis that introduced me to console gaming. I missed my Genesis so much I bought another one along with a 32X & Sega CD. There were so many great games that did not come out for the Wii VC, namely Batman Returns, Snathcer and Popful Mail for the Sega CD & The Adventures of Batman & Robin & Rocket Knight Adventures for the Genesis as well as Star Wars Arcade & Kolibri, I had to pick up the system again.
I got Conduit 1 & 2 and LOVE them both! I still play them on my Wii so I don't need a Wii U version but I hope this does well so it paves the way for The Grinder.
Business are in business to make money. I don't mind especially seeing the down turn in the console market and so many companies close. I'l pick up the game for the 360. I hope they bring some of the WiiU features to SmartGlass on the 360.
The economy is still recovering. How do they expect people to spend more money on games when people are just trying to make sure they have food and shelter?
(1) They have to re adjust their goals to take into account the economy. Sometimes this is hard because for many of these "super rich" investors there has been no recession. To them it's life a usual.
(2)If they want to sell more 3DS XL systems here in the U.S. they have to try harder. It is no wonder they are selling so many in Japan, they cater to the market. Look at how many different colors and exclusive versions of the console is available there. Here in the U.S. they only have red and blue. Even the high end Wii U is in black. I'm sorry, but the colors they have here make the system look like a pre-school toy not a cutting edge portable gaming platform. If they are really serious, they need to release the 3DS XL black. I can tell you this is the real reason why I have not upgraded my 3DS. If I'm going to fork over that kind of money in this kind of economy, in the very least the color of the hardware should be appealing to me.
I would be sad if he did step down. I don't know too many CEO (none actually) but it seams like he does actually care about his products and customers, with that said I hope they hurry up and release a proper black 3DS XL for the U.S. so I can finally upgrade from my current 3DS. I just can't see myself paying that kind of cash on the red or blue one they have available here.
I hope this opens the door of other Sega Scope 3D games for the 3DS although this Space Harrier looks like a 3D conversion of the arcade game and not the 8 bit Sega Master System Space Harrier 3D, not that I'm complaining at all.
I wounder how long it will take for third party companies to make an external HDD that match the look of the Wii U? A 250 GB or 500 GB external HDD that actually matches the look of the system would be perfect for me...that is once I decide to get a Wii U. Actually this might be a deciding factor. To me looks matter
I am so happy I picked up another Sega Genesis, Sega CD. I just recently got this game after hearing about the possible HD release on this site. I love it! The quality of the packaging is amazing and the game itself is a total love letter to the 16 bit RPGs of yesteryear.
The HD version will no doubt be amazing but there is something special about having an actual physical cart playable in my Sega Genesis that pushes the system to the max. There is also the fact that Watermelon is the only company to ever use the "Enhanced CD" for some INCREDIBLE music. The fact they can get the cd to work with the cart is amazing in itself. Don't get me wrong, WM knows how to make the Genesis sound chip sing but the music from the Enhanced CD is just beautiful. Must be heard to be believed.
To me this game is more than just a game but a collector's item that screams quality through and through. Totally worth it! They are even working on a new Streets of Rage type brawler for the Sega Genesis and it already sounds amazing.
With this new resurgence of retro gamers, hopefully there will be enough demand for them to make a new Sega 32X game in the future. I would love to see what these guys could do on the 32X or maybe 32X CD:)
I heard what happened to the Europe so I was finally able to put money together to buy it today (Nov. 19,) and iall the DKC games are GONE! What happened? There was no warning what so ever!
This never happened to me on Xbox Live. An now Nintendo wants me to buy a new system with more digital content? If this is how they are going to treat their customers, no way!
I bought the game AND this was after I just recently bought the the PC version of it
This games just feels at home on a Nintendo console. Do yourself a favor and get it! Your'll be happy you did plus good indie developers like this need to see our love
Does this mean Nintendo will FINALLY support the DSi (and DSi XL) with a firmware update to allow people to store and play their DSiWare games from the SD card???
This was a great game. I got it when it first launched. You get a lot of content. I believe it was from one of the original programmers form the N64 Golden Eye.
Thanks for the info on the PC version out this Friday. I am still hoping for a WiiWare version but a full version of the game on PC for $14.99 is not bad at all. It is nice to have something to put my PC gamepad back in use!
I too am hoping for this game even without the DLC. What I don't understand is if there is DLC in the game i Japan, why is it such an issue with porting it over to the West?
Oh well, I hope it comes over. It's weird but I enjoy playing games like this on my Wii with WiiWare over Xbox Live Arcade. Again they did mention that all WiiWare and VC games can be transferred to the Wii U so I think is it a win, win for Nigoro if it comes out on WiiWare.
I love the first game! I bought the collector's edition of the game when it came out and I don;t regret it all all! Again if you have a problem with the camera using the D-pad to adjust it really helps.
I will be getting the Wii version over the Xbox 360 version. The game plays so great with the Wii remote I don't see how the game pad could improve on that and although Kinect is cool, I would not want to use it to control a game like Epic Mickey.
Does anyone know if there will be a collector's edition of this game?
Again, BRAVO Mr. Spector for not forgetting the Wii and giving us this great game when so many companies have already left the Wii behind. That earns major props in my book!

Thanks Nintendo Life for letting us know about this video!
I got this on pre-order also! I can;t wait to get it.
Nintendo knows how to make games. I wonder if the same effort went into Pandora's Tower. If not maybe this is way they don't feel confident to release it in North America.
I'm torn. I too am an Ambassador and I just got a Circle Pad Pro and I actually think the Circle Pad Pro makes my 3DS more comfortable to use.
I don't understand the lack of the 2nd circle pad. If the XL had one I would find a way to get it. I love the idea of having the larger screens especially to watch videos on the system and the day Netflix shows 3D movies, watching movies on the 3DS XL with head phones would be fantastic!.
Come on Nintendo. You came out with the Circle Pad Pro and the Wii U even had dual control sticks even though it also has a touch screen and gyros like the 3DS.
Also, why is it not in black? They tease use with the reveal system in black but the actual colors to the U.S. are red and blue?
I was looking forward to 3DS Metroid Prime Hunters game with dual analog controls. Oh well
I have a HUGE Gamecube collection. I don't like the idea of buying these games again. For this reason I think I am going to keep my current Wii (with Gamecube compatibility) "if" I decide to get a Wii U.
I know, I know the Wii U looks like it will be a great system and I am a huge Nintendo fan (hence my large Gamecube and Wii libraries) but I also have an Xbox 360 and with Smartglass tech I don't think I am going to rush out a get a Wii U a launch. I still have a ton of games I have to get caught up on the Gamecube, Wii and VC.
I'm going to have to pick this game up and the first one as well.
I used to have the MegaMan X Collection for the Gamecube but I had to get rid of it because for some reason it was the only Gamecube game that could not play in 480p I got the sound but no visuals. I have been waiting for this on VC for a while. NICE!
The ONLY think keeping me from jumping on the Wii U band wagon is the lack of Gamecube support. I have a huge number of Gamecube games I still play on my Wii.
The Wii U line up does look impressive. I might have to cave in after all...depending on how much the system really is.
I also have mine pre-ordered. It was a choice between this and Lord Of The Rings Extended Trilogy on Blu Ray and I chose Last Story!
I figure I could get the LOTR Trilogy later when it goes on sale again but if I miss out on Last Story I don't only miss out on an EPIC game but I miss out on the art book as well.
Not cool. I understood and I appreciate the interview.
I too hope someone picks this game up. I wanted to buy it. I did not know Nintendo was not approached. Nintendo should pick it up. They have the money and this could also be a kind of talent search for them to give Nigoro a shot. It is sad to see little companies like Nigoro have such a hard time trying to get their games out there. I guess they can also try Xbox Live. It looks like Xbox Live is more supportive of indie developers. I know I would it pick it up on Xbox Live as well.
Wow. The game is all done and it is just sitting there. Hopefully someone picks it up to publish. Maybe Sega. They have been showing the Wii VC a lot of love lately. Reminds me, I have to pick up some Sega VC games
I'm also excited for this game. A sure purchase for me. Castle of Illusion and World of Illusion were 2 of the games that made me want to track down another Sega Genesis.

If it does, I'm on it!

I'm surprised no one mentioned Street Fighter X Mega Man which is available right now for free on the PC: http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2012/12/17/street-fighter-x-mega-man-now-available-for-free
I just got it and I thought it was a great way to honor 25 years of Mega Man and again it is for FREE!
http://youtu.be/61-OMrOxyso
BTW I thought Mega Man The Wily Wars for the Sega Genesis was pretty good and another greatly underrated Mega Man game.
Re: Guide: Using USB Storage with the Wii U

Thanks. 4 USB ports. Not bad for such a compact system. It is looking more promising.
Re: Guide: Using USB Storage with the Wii U
@SetupDisk,
Nice. Can you post some pics of the two together? Do you have the Seagate on top of the Wii U or next to it?
BTW are there USB ports in the back of the Wii U or only in the front? I can not believe Nintendo would only put USB ports in the front of the system.
