Great review and a well deserved score for this game! I picked it up last night and this could have been a full release retail game. It rocks!

Even though 1500 Nintendo Points is a bargain for what you get, I was bummed that you could not just buy 1500 points but had to buy 2000 points. I made the most of this by picking up this game and with the 500 points I had left over I picked up Kirby for the NES VC which also ROCKS and because of the Wii I have NES Kirby in 480p which looks great I could not display the game like this with the orginal NES.

WiiWare and VC still have a back log of so much gaming goodness I know I often forget.

If Nintendo is still putting this much effort in the DSi XL, does this mean that we will finally get a DSi SD card update???

I really hope so but I'm not holding my breath

I'm still waiting for the DSi SD card update so I can actually get games for my DSi.

BUT I really have to thank Nintendo again for the 10 free NES games with the Ambassador Program. I did not realize I would be getting Zelda AND Zelda 2

I might have missed this but is this retail or DSiWare?

I for one like the Classic Controller Pro we have and the Nyko Perfect Shot works perfectly so I'm not too heart broken these designs did not come out.

I had the Mega Man X Collection for the Gamecube but Capcom didn't make it compatible with component (480p) cables so I had to physically switch out the connection between component and composite every time I wanted to play the game through my Wii. Needless to say, I sold it so I will be looking forward to this release on the VC.

Sweet. Please, please Nintendo give us a DSi SD card update so I can actually get this game and not have to play my least favorite DSi game, J.T.D.G.B.T.I.M.A.S.C. aka "Juggle The DSi Game Between The Internal Memory And SD Card".

And still no DSi SD card update. I want to get more DSiWare games but I hate having to switch games back and forth between the DSi's internal memory and my SD card

Come on Nintendo, give us a Wii style SD card update. Do you not want my money?

I was seriously waiting for this for WiiWare. Sadly, I guess this does not bode well for other WiiWare games. I hope I'm wrong because it is a great service (ever since the SD card patch) that needs more PR.

I guess it would make more sense to play Night Sky on the 3DS with tilt controls.

It looks really good. It reminds me a lot of the Dreamcast version. Does anyone know if it is a port? If it is, that's not a bad thing because the Dreamcast version was a great game and I had to sell my Dreamcast before I finished it

My mistake. I just looked at the picture and that looks like the one coming out for the Wii. Isn't there another Rayman coming out for the 3DS that looks like the Dreamcast version? I thought I saw a video of it on the 3DS e shop.

Makes me glad I got my current Wii. Again, this is an odd move seeing how the Wii U is around the corner. Why would Nintendo even waste the R and D to do this?

So basically people who waited on getting the Wii can get a gimped Wii or wait a little longer to get the Wii U...hmmm...if this is a hard decision than these people should not be gamers.

@53 and how much do you pay each month just to have that iPhone active and be able to use its features? This is one main reason I don't have an iPhone. With my 3DS I don not have to worry about paying for another service plan just to use it.

You know that companies make money off of you with the service plans and not just the hardware. This is another reason why I hope Nintendo does not get into phones. BTW what are they on now, the iPhone 5?

Software sells games. I think Nintendo will sell more 3DS systems at this new price point. It is also hard for me to believe parents as so clueless they cannot tell the difference between a DS and a 3DS. I'm a parent and I can clearly tell. It is also amazing to me that people (i.e. investors) think the system can sell like hotcakes while we are in a global recession. People need time to take care of their needs first and then their wants. Even with that said, I think sales will pick up because of this new price point and as more AAA software gets out there. Furthermore as more 3D without the glasses HDTVs start to get released at the end of the year and more 3D content gets out there, this will only help the sales of the 3DS.

All I can say is that because of the price drop I own a 3DS now so it looks like their strategy is working.

I would also like to see more unique 3D software/apps that other consoles can't do. Really bring on the 3D!

1) The 3D Nintendo Videos are nice but bring 3D movies to Netflix (I know a lot of that depends on Netflix)
2) Bring out the Virtual Boy games and update them (both classic mode in red and new colorized modes)
3) Bring out all the Sega Scope 3D games

All this content is already designed for stereoscopic 3D so it should not be as heard as making a 2D game into 3D and plus there is a lot of quality content here. I know this would get my attention.

Also

Bring out those "lost" Japanese RPGs to the States that the fans wanted. I know this does not directly affect 3DS sales but when your fans are happy, they will buy more Nintendo stuff both for the Wii and the 3DS.

I was looking into that phone or phones with that OS until I realized there was no game pad Xbox, unlike Nintendo or even Sony needs a gaming phone with a gamepad. A phone that would work also as their entry in the portable gaming market seeing how they already have the highly successful Xbox Live Marketplace.

Wow. It shows the pressures put on companies like Nintendo. The investors just need to let Nintendo be Nintendo. I just got the 3DS & I still have my DS XL and I love them both. I'm glad they are not phones and they don't have to be and part of the draw in having them is that they provide a gaming experience you can't find anywhere else. That could change if Nintendo makes games for phones. I think this would greatly hurt the 3DS even more.

Xbox however I think could use a better phone strategy. Since Microsoft does not have a portable, an Xbox phone like the Playstation Xperia Play (a phone with an actual gamepad) to play my Xbox Live Games on the go would be sweet! Again odd Sony would come out with this before Microsoft since Sony already has the PSP.

That is sad news. I loved de Blob on the Wii and I am still going to pick up the second game. I thought the move to the HD systems was going to be positive for the developers. Goes to show why we need the Wii.

With the gaming audiences on the HD systems only looking for a particular type of game, namely FPS, games like de Blob have a better chance on the Wii. I still think the announcement of the Wii U was too early and that the Wii still has some life in it especially for developers like this. MORE people losing their jobs. How sad

Yeah, I can't complain. I just got my 3DS from Walmart last night for $169.96 + tax. It was the last one in stock and the systems were still advertised for $249.99! It pays to read message boards

I went online, did a system update (which took a while) and I had a message screen welcoming me to the Ambassador Program! Even with my tight finances, this was too good to pass up otherwise I would be still reading everyone else's posts of how cool the 3DS is. Now I know for myself

If only more CEOs would do this rather than lay off a lot of their own employees who are going paycheck to paycheck in the first place.

This is why I love and will probably still keep my Wii. After re-watching the Lord of the Rings Trilogy I felt like some LOTRs action. I had Aragorn's Quest for the Wii (highly underrated) but I also had LOTRs The Twin Towers and LOTRs The Return of the King for the Gamecube and I thought what else was there, so I found and bought LOTRs The Third Age and The Hobbit for the Gamecube both complete and relatively cheap (definitely cheaper than a new retail game) and these game ROCK! Since I already have an Xbox 360, I'm not in too much of a hurry to get a Wii U especially seeing how were are in a RECESSION!

That is tough man. Hang in there. I feel your pain. I had to use E-bay for my gas money I hope and pray things get better for you and your family.

With all this happening now, I have to question Nintendo's wisdom in not just releasing 1 new system but releasing 2 systems when you include the Wii U. I still think the Wii and DSi, especially with the XL released still have more life in them and when your considering their large user bases there seams to be great opportunities to make more money on software.

Welcome to the worldwide recession. That is why I did not get a 3DS. Food, shelter and transportation are a priority right now. When things get better then I can even think about getting a 3DS but right now my Wii, DSi XL, Xbox 360, Kinect and my classic systems are keeping me busy video game wise. It's nice that the price dropped but when you don't have the money, you don't have the money.

I think it might be even simpler than that because they could have included multiple discs. This is what I think:

"We wish to deliver the best and most complete experience for US and European fans, therefore we're localizing Tales of Graces f. The game on the PS3 version is on a blu-ray disc. It would be next to impossible to condense all the game's data on a Wii disc, so unfortunately, there will be no Wii release."
Translation:
"Sony gave us a boatload of money and Nintendo did not."

Wow! 4 player split screen too...WOW!!!

I've had the PC version of MDK 1 & 2 & the Dreamcast and I have to say the no widescreen support is not that noticeable. In fact, if you never played the other games you would just think that this is how the game looks. Everything looks good and sharp. I am using component cables with a HDTV if that makes a difference.

Wii controls work very well in this game. This is how MDK 2 should be played. I really, really hope they release MDK 1 on WiiWare. Any word on this? MDK 1 with Wii controls = epic win!

I downloaded this game Day 1 and it rocks! I loved the orginal 1 & 2 on the PC but I am not a PC gamer so when the Dreamcast version came out back in the day, I got that one too and loved it.

I have to say, the Wii controls work very well in this game. This is how MDK 2 should be played. I really, really hope they release MDK 1 on WiiWare. I am sad they did not do that one first because it was a great game and Wii controls would make it even better.

I also forgot "Doom 64" and and arcade port of "Strider" and "Puch Out Arcade" would be awesome!

I gave up hope for any Sega CD and Sega 32X games so I just picked up a Sega Genesis, 32X CD console so I am set there.

SWEET! I too think the game deserves it. I am one of those 1.3 million. I bought the Collector's Edition and I love it!

Nice. I had a DS Lite but sold it to get my DSi XL.

Now if they will only give us an SD card firmware update so all those millions of DSi owners can buy more games.

I don't mind the shortcuts made by Nintendo. I bought this for one prime reason and that is to play "Super Mario All Stars" that is what I got. The fact that I can play it on my HD TV in 480p is a great bonus seeing how I don't have my SNES and even if I did have it, the SNES does not have component outputs. Everything else I got with the game (the CD & Book) are another welcomed bonus.

Ever since I got my Wii 4 years ago, I never bought the 8 bit versions of the games. I have been waiting for the superior 16 bit re-makes as seen in SMBAS. I almost caved in a few times and I was one of those people who would always post "When will Nintendo bring Mario All Stars To VC???" I did get Mario 64 and Super Mario World so not including those is actually nice for me.

Again, the ability to play Super Mario All Stars in 480p is well worth it! These games SMBA never looked so good! I can finally enjoy these classics since I never had the original cartridge when I had my SNES and these are some great games. I having alot of fun! I love the simple gameplay mechanics of using the direction pad and 2 buttons. I never liked the complicated controls of Super Mario World.

I'm sorry to hear about the gimped European release. Will the US version work better? Is this game region locked?

Thank you sooo much for this review. I have been waiting for a review on this game ever since I found out it was coming to the Wii.

I loved the PC version but I could not wait for the game to come to the consoles so I could actually play the game on something other than a keyboard.

I'm OK with them delaying it as long as it means a better game. Also, with Goldeneye coming out I think it was a good move for them and me since I have to work with a budget.

I could not imagine why Nintendo would not release it world wide (U.S. included). I know I would buy it in a heart beat.

I still have not downloaded any of the 8 bit Mario games because I have been holding out for Super Mario All Stars. It looks like my wait will soon come to an end.

I also liked Nights Journey of Dreams, that is when I started playing it with my Classic Controller. The motion controls where not precise enough for the gameplay.

Also I didn't like that they blurred NIGHTS gender. He is male and leave it at that rather than change his voice and make him gender confused.

I will be more excited about DSi Ware releases once I know I don't have to swap games out of my SD memory card to my DSi internal memory.

The last SD Card update on the Wii translated to me buying and enjoy a lot more VC and WiiWare games.
