I'm liking it a lot. The details they removed like trees especially in Sweden and Finland are for the better. Sweden was in WRC 8 a pixel soup and now with less trees it looks better. Also it is quite different looking at screenshots than racing yourself. You dont't have time to check the graphics in detail and that makes things look better.
@NEStalgia I think it may indeed be caused by bad/dirty contacts causing the contacts to heat up while the joy cons are charging. A bad contact means a higher resistance and thus you will have power dissipation. People that never take the joy-cons off may not even have this issue as the batteries are almost full all the time and the contacts are less prone to get dirty.
I read in another review that you need to be online to play. Anyone knows if this is true? And if true, what would happen if they one day decide to close the servers? Would that mean that you no longer can play? I'm very excited for this game, but I'm holding off until I figure this out.
@Coach_A Yes I did, the sharpness to high and AA on is already a good improvement. Turning AA off makes it for me even better detail wise, but there are jaggies. It doesn't bother me but it may bother others. I much prefer the extra detail.
@TheFox I was very much on the fence if I should upgrade and initially decided after seeing some YT videos not to upgrade. I thought that the improvements were not justifying getting the upgrade. But as I do very much enjoy SC2 I kept the interest. I watched a comparison video on YT between 1,2 and 3 and noticed the details of the improvements the reviewer was talking about.
Then I just bought it and started to compare it myself. It just feels better than 2, but this is my opinion. It feels more realistic, I can't explain it better than that. It also looks better. The video that convinced me: https://youtu.be/zt2WW5eu_Do
Well, I bought it and loving it so far! Been playing 2 and 3 for a couple of hours alternating between them both and 3 wins hands down. Lighting and shadows are way better in 3. Color palette is better in 3. Physics, track deformation, rider stance, yup, all better in 3.
Suspension and bike reaction to track especially wet track is so much better in 3! I actually like the wet track a lot more in 3. I compared Seattle with a wet track and after playing 3 a bit, the wet track in 2 just seemed off and chaotic. The light reflections and puddles are very nice in 3. Next to that, it runs butter smooth! You know what is the biggest overall feeling? When I play 2 I feel like a spectator, with 3, I feel like I'm actually the rider! Milestone, well done!
The game in the link to follow has just launched on iOS. I asked the developers if they plan a Switch release as it looks as quite a cool game for the Switch where you can make you own layouts. You can find it here: https://modelrailwayeasily.com/
@adh56 My thought exactly! I see games in the eShop of which I'm wondering how they managed to get in. Like you see some people driving wondering how they got their driving license.
When I read that it is free I already stop reading. Ha ha, imagine there would be a publisher giving games for free just because they love us so much! Unfortunately that's not how a healthy economy works. "Free" means gems, period.
@Donald_M
This is the chip. Depending on the storage size of the cartridge it will have a different size PCBA and different chip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4R37KhdLxo
I'm not seeing any lag. I did turn off all assistants from the beginning so maybe it gets laggy when assistants are enabled? Maybe to give the game engine time to reply with assists? I don't agree with the low score and I give it a solid 7. I'm having a lot of fun especially when using the bonnet cam! It's not great, but with the offering currently on the eShop, it sure scratches the itch!
I love this game, no real issues seen and tutorial for me was enough to get started. I currently have a 15K city and having a great time. So much fun to create bus and tram lines. Trying to solve traffic jams, building bridges and tunnels, fun, fun, fun! I don't agree with NL's score and currently Metacritc is showing a more positive image about this game.
I never heard of this game and will research it later today when I come home. I did quickly watch a short video in my break time. As I would love to have some train simulator on the Switch I'm wondering if this could scratch the itch for now, as I did see trains in the video. Anyone knows how deep the train system in this games goes?
I'll pass on this one. I simply don't support the freemium model. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I rather pay for a full game than one that is designed to try and have you buy chests of smurfberries.
To each their own, but I'm not happy we are starting to see this model on the Switch.
Would be nice if there would be a basic package for cloud saving only. That is the only thing I will be using the online subsription for. I'm also curious to find out what they mean that cloud saving will not work for all games. I guess they will have a file size limit.
I want to have cloud saving, the more I progress in games, the more nervous I get. I would take an online subscription just for that, if they would add it at all, although I believe this functionality should be FOC.
@PLATINUM7 Unless I'm misunderstanding you, there is a genre categories section. There is a button under the recently launched games to see all and there you can choose a category.
I would like to see a rating system with the possibility to write short reviews.
@Hikingguy That is the reason why I went 100% digital! I don't like the idea of needing -huge- downloads to make the game on cartridge complete or less buggy.
@gildahl I also find it hard to distinguish the pieces and I hope they will improve this somehow. Also, you can lock the camera in any position by clicking the right joystick and still be able to use zoom after that.
The game is very nice. I like that you can lock the camera with clicking the right stick and then still can zoom to your preffered level. The chess pieces I find a bit fuzzy looking, especially the oponent ones because there even smaller. I find this the worst when using the Staunton chess pieces in the Musei Capatali. I can't really put my finger on it but it's like the lighting in the game makes me want to rub my eyes in an effort to see the chess pieces sharper. I also noticed the few games I played the computer likes to follow the same opening moves. If I start the same way as in a previous game the computer plays the exact same moves. Again, I only played a few games so maybe I'm too fast to judge here. I also noticed that the game likes to eat my battery a lot. These things asside I really like the game and the music and sound effects are spot on. In Woodburn Manor you hear the wind outside and the crackling fire with great music next to it. Turn the music volume down and you're having a relaxing game on a cold stormy night!
Amazon.de is saying 3-5 weeks to be delivered. I was on the fence since I'm not a soccer fan but I do like to play Fifa 14 on my PS Vita. I think I will support EA and just buy it for the Switch when I get home after work tomorrow.

What an improvement! I set sharpness to high and AA off, left the rest as it was and it looks so much better. So much more detail! Love it!
