@NintonicGamer yeah real time translation is virtually impossible. Would have been handy if Suda 51 spoke a sentence and then gave a pause so the translator could translate, the way it always works.
@NEStalgia They only showed 6 games in 1 2 Switch, but also showed that there will be many more games in it. I want to see what the spell casting and separate sword fighting (aside from Samurai training) games look like.
@ottospooky a game the costs many millions to develop doesn't suddenly become free on digital media. People who beg Nintendo for free stuff only look desperate. Why not go and demand every company give you free stuff and see how that works out.
@IndieWriter if you want something that's just a low powered PC-lite you're still better off getting a real PC. If you want Nintendo innovation and games you can't get elsewhere, you get Nintendo, even if you actually have to pay for the innovation.
@chardir It does say that on launch it will also work with pro controller. But buying a second controller is a common requirement for 2 player local. The Switch is the rare one with its joycons allowing 2 players for some games.
@Grandpa_Pixel After seeing the Switch presentation I thought Arms was quite weak and should be a budget title that many would ignore. And then I saw the Treehouse stream and thoroughly enjoyed watching them play. It will be hard for me to resist buying it, especially if there's more content than in the show floor demo.
@Tempestryke I don't know but I think the Wii was the first to be bundled with a game on launch. And all bundled consoles are more expensive. Just try buying a PS4 or Xbox One with and without a bundled game.
@Yorumi With online console gaming, you get what you pay for. The Wii had decent online, but the company that provided it went under, forcing all Wii online stuff to die. Nintendo did Wii U online themselves for free and it sucked. Playing MK Wii online with 10s of millions of others was a breeze with old slow Internet. Playing MK 8 with a much smaller amount with much faster Internet was a massive struggle. Now they are paying another company a lot of money to do online gaming right, and we will get what we pay for. I mean not wasting system resources for chat is a great idea. And I don't have to buy ridiculously expensive chat head set for it either, I can happily use the ones that come free with my phone.
@Syrek24 People think a game that costs millions to rate should be free. Imagine if he Wii U didn't come bundled with Nintendoland and was instead $50 cheaper? And they think millions spent on innovation in design instead of delivering another expensive and underpowered PC should also be free. If people don't want Nintendo stuff, don't buy Nintendo. Save up for a top gaming PC - I sure wish I could but my laptop has enough for the PC games I play such as Civ 6.
@Yorumi the wires might be cheap but actually putting them and plugs inside a piece of plastic costs more.
I would rather my Switch be cheaper and not come bundled with stuff I don't want to buy.
It's not greed. Greed is making everybody who buys a Switch also buy this pointless charger by including it in the bundle.
@Yorumi they last 20 hours. And when you finish playing TV mode, you put the joycons back on the Switch. The Joycons charge whenever connected to the Switch. I think they can survive being disconnected from a charger for 7 hours.
@Yorumi do you really need more than one way to charge them? The charging grip will be something that would collect dust as the joycons will be attached to the Switch when not playing. With 20 hour battery life it would take a seriously long TV play session to need the chaging grip - unless you buy a second set of joy cons.
@teamshortcut I think they blew the doors off with the Switch but in the presentation people got the impression it was just left slightly ajar and not sure if they should come in or not.
@Solid_Stannis Hyrule Warriors > many Zelda boring fetch quest simulators with poor 3D platforming. I've struggled to play a Zelda game for more than an hour - Twilight Princess is the sole exception. Hyrule Warriors I 100%ed. Breath of the Wild also looks like something I can really sink my teeth in as they seem to have learned so much from Monolith Soft.
@Lizuka and with chunky pixel later graphics from having a screen so close to your face. However the Switch has a bigger screen and would be a bit further away from the eyes, hopefully reducing the pixellated problem.
I was watching a switch prediction discussion video last night, and they had a great point about VR that I think makes perfect sense. Nintendo are likely future proofing the Switch with VR, and will probably only bring it to the Switch if the market for it explodes and you need VR to compete.
@PotatoTheGreat GTA hasn't had a good game in many years, now instead of trying to make the game play as fun as possible, they try and get as many swear words in as possible.
@Great_Gonzalez Well Nintendo started late 1800s and they've made all sorts of popular games. I feel sorry for all the people before that who didn't have games of any sort apparently.
@DanteSolablood yeah, Pokemon Go isn't dead, it's still above the level of daily users Niantic expected on launch, it's just no longer the super mega hype train it was early on. That's like saying every sports team is dead because they have had at least slightly better seasons in the past.
@Moon I'm guessing each region will have their own version with the only difference being a different graphic showing he price for their region. I assume there will only be one English voice over, probably by someone from NoA. If it was a Direct I would think Shibata would do his own European version, but I don't think so here.

Re: Gearbox CEO Doesn't See Borderlands 3 Coming To Nintendo Switch
@LegendOfPokemon I want third parties, not third rate.
Re: By The Way, The Joy-Con Grip Bundled With Nintendo Switch Won't Charge Your Joy-Cons
@King_Johobo So you want your Switch to cost an extra $30 for an item you may use once?
Re: By The Way, The Joy-Con Grip Bundled With Nintendo Switch Won't Charge Your Joy-Cons
@KickButt_Gaming What catches? That we aren't charity so shouldn't be begging Nintendo for donations?
Re: Nintendo Switch Lacks Pack-In Title Because It's $299, Says Reggie Fils-Aime
@dreamcastrocks Wii Sports did push up the price of the Wii. It would have been cheaper without a game.
Re: Nintendo Switch Lacks Pack-In Title Because It's $299, Says Reggie Fils-Aime
@Tempestryke But did they have games bundled on launch? I'm not actually sure myself.

Re: First Impressions: Going Hand-to-Hand With ARMS
It certainly has potential to be a successful cross between Wii Sports boxing and Smash Bros and have a strong online scene.

I'm glad Nintendo didn't push the price of the console up to include a bunch of things I don't want to buy.

the joycons will be mostly charged already like most devices nowadays.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Is Currently in Development
@NickOfTime90 Last FF I played was X, which had an anime CGI look.
Re: Video: Watch the Nintendo Switch Experience from Tokyo, Day Two - Live!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Do you mean lag or frame drop?
Re: Video: Watch the Nintendo Switch Experience from Tokyo, Day Two - Live!
It's my sons 7th birthday and for birthday and Christmas presents he's been wanting money for his own Switch.
Re: Nintendo Switch Won't Have Miiverse Or StreetPass
Far better to have Miiverse groups within Facebook than have Miiverse which was inferior in every way.

Re: Nintendo Switch to Introduce Paid Online Service in Autumn / Fall
@eeyore Don't be so blue, there will be free NES and SNES games that will likely be worth more than the monthly cost of Switch Network.
Re: Minecraft, Sonic, Street Fighter And Bomberman Are All Coming To Switch
@Dakt I don't know. It didn't seem to be Cell shaded from the second I saw it on screen.

@Paddle1 There looks like here are quite a few new tracks, including Splatoon.

Re: Fire Emblem Warriors Has Been Announced For the Nintendo Switch
@AVahne Yet KT like to focus on earlier popular stuff if going by their Gundam games.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Is Currently in Development
I don't like the new art style, their previous style was new and refreshing.
Re: Sources Outline GameStop Trade-In Deals and Pre-Order Details for the Nintendo Switch
without trading in stuff that never gets touched anymore I won't be able to afford a Switch (and one for my son as well).

I am sure some of the stuff in the trailer wasn't in the Wii U game. I'll be buying this version no matter what.
Re: Nintendo NY Store Confirms A 'Limited Quantity of Pre-Orders' for Nintendo Switch on 13th January
@Equinox People only wanted a NES mini because of hype and it sold far more than Nintendo ever anticipated. 90% of them are gathering dust.
Re: Prepare To Be Blown Away By Nintendo Switch, Says Nvidia CEO
@jimi So based on your guesses, you make an even wilder guess that there will be no Miiverse?
Re: Nintendo Apparently Told Square "Never Come Back" After Losing Final Fantasy VII To Sony
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Nobody has seen a REAL Final Fantasy for years now. All the recent ones are just beautiful garbage.
Re: Nintendo Apparently Told Square "Never Come Back" After Losing Final Fantasy VII To Sony
@GravyThief Front Mission 3 on PS1 still has some of the best looking cutscenes. And it's by Square.
Still waiting for a proper FM6.

@Solid_Stannis I've taken to calling the recent Star Wars movies the Search for More Money series.
Re: Nintendo Switch Accessories Outed By Finnish Retailer
@DragonEleven Official ones are mostly third party with a license, but usually they are the best of the accessories.
Re: Prepare To Be Blown Away By Nintendo Switch, Says Nvidia CEO
@jimi So it's too much like the Wii U but also not enough like the Wii U?

In Australia we get it live at a lovely Friday afternoon time. Treehouse is middle of the night though, however staying up later to watch it won't take much effort.

@Clownshoes It's only a gimmick if it's live Kinect or Move where it's an attempt to cash in on something popular - eg Fonzie jumping a shark to cash in on Jaws popularity.
The Switch isn't a gimmick, it has real gameplay advantages.
