@SLIGEACH_EIRE In Australia, Amiibo are $15 and sometimes half price, while comparable non-Amiibo figures are $20 to $40 and not made by Nintendo, and often don't look as good as Amiibo.
I have to get this. There will be more use for this than just combining Switch sound and phone chat. There are plenty of other occasions where listening to two things at once is handy.
And I love how the plug is Squid shaped.
@datamonkey from the linked original: "GamesBeat: From the sidelines, where do you see the big three here and how well they’re doing?
Harrison: Nintendo has surprised me in a good way. They’ve put some excitement back in, or at least added a dynamic to the console equation that wasn’t there previously. From my focus group of a household with younger children, Switch is definitely the console that gets used. Mainly because of the content types. Surprisingly, the TV-to-mobile use case works way more effectively than I expected. Maybe I should give Nintendo more credit. I really enjoy that."
@electrolite77 Okay maybe mostly Sligeach, but also at least a few of the NINTENDOOMED crowd went from one position to the other. Of course plenty would have only had one opinion because of how they felt about the console alone, rather than hating Nintendo.
First whingers said Nintendo had too many and we're stupid to be so over optimistic, now the same people are saying Nintendo are stupid for not making enough and clicking their magic fingers.
@davetheshrew GAME did that before and then died in Australia very quickly. Decided to not honour any lay buys or preorders and kept the cash and then nobody went in again.
@Wichtel The censored version is the best because their screen that they have instead of the banned one about sexual violence is far funnier than any gig else in the game. Coupled with weak RPG mechanics and writing quality nowhere near South Park's clever social commentary best I'm happy to keep avoiding them.
I want Koei Tecmo to bring back Uncharted Waters (not the average licensed MMO) and Genghis Khan 2. Genghis Khan 2 was amazing where you could conquer all of Asia, Europe and North Africa, and Uncharted Waters 2 allowed you to sail all around the world.
Graham McTavish was pretty good in Outlander, but surely on a website like this everybody should be remembering how awesome he was as "Nicey" Ackerman in Red Dwarf 8, especially in Krytie TV.
@PlywoodStick Every person who downloaded it was an item of food being taken from Nintendo's pantry, and the size and scope of the project being of a commercial level meant a very large amount of downloads were going to happen. Are you upset because the ant would have passed food on to you and other fans?
@Bolt_Strike The size and scope made it a commercial product, which is really a compliment from Nintendo saying that this product is so good, it will cost us money, even if you never charge a cent for it.
The best thing is that it doesn't seem to affect Pokemon that people caught by following tracker. Not sure what methods got Pokemon banned though, probably GPS spoofing and other app cheats.
@manu0 For Pokemon Plus you can only catch the Pokemon that are in your location and you can waste Pokeballs on Pidgeys because you can't see what Pokemon are there.
@gatorboi352 @PlywoodStick The amount who still play is about the amount they expected to play on the first place. If they didn't have 1000 times more people than they expected, then instead of trying to spend insane amounts of time and resources breaking new ground in trying to have an online only game work for many millions at once, then these changes would have come 6 months ago.
@gspro15198 Getting someone good to run it, so Nintendo will charge for it from next year, charging for a whole year what Xbox and PS+ charge for a month. It's Nintendo's best online, servers are working better than Wii and Wii U and vastly superior to MS Xbox Live servers (my nephew got an Xbox One S for his birthday and initial update failed 100 times, has always been very problematic).
@SLIGEACH_EIRE The problem is that Nintendo have finite resources and staff. They could have Virtual Console, but Mario Odyssey would be delayed until next year instead.
@ThatNyteDaez I think it's to do with control. Sony can't ban people on other systems who harass or groom kids on PS. I feel that it's more to do with the fact ththat Sony can't control what people on other systems do externally on PS versions that bothers them and not necessarily anything illegal or predatory against children.
I wouldn't be surprised if Sony had some serious internal discussions and someone stubbornly stuck to one of the premises of their online system of "Sony controlled safe curation for the children".
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Considering Mario+Rabbids had only just been confirmed the day before, that still counts as a new E3 reveal, and a 3rd party one at that. And Nintendo are smart for not putting all their eggs in one E3 basket. Why waste more reveals for a few percent more impact at E3 when you can spread them around to have a greater impact throughout the year?
"Producer Kensuke Tanabe has stated that he's leading “a talented new development team." Tanabe acted as producer on the first three Prime games." Doesn't mean it isn't a new team at Retro going by these words alone. If Retro were to do it, they would need a new team because the main people who did the Prime Trilogy have since left.

Re: Miyamoto and Other Developers Discuss Star Fox 2 and the SNES
@SLIGEACH_EIRE You want them to be eaphically ambitious but say their most graphically ambitious hasn't aged well at all.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Is Getting a Season Pass
I'd rather pay $20 now than $50 in dribs and drabs
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th August (Europe)
If you have two friends or live in a house with two other people, buy Jackbox Party Pack 2, and maybe 1 as well
Re: Gamevice Launches Patent Case Against the Nintendo Switch and Joy-Con Concept
Nintendo should counter sue over the controller layout and ABXY buttons as well as the obvious Wii U Gamepad stolen design.
Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild's First Free Item Distribution is Live on Switch
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Nah that's meat and two veg, not meat and two fruit.
Re: Video: Here's What Senran Kagura Looks Like On Nintendo Switch
Yeah, molesting girls is a mechanic that games really need...
Even in Japan it's mainly only losers who play it.
Re: Niantic Is Facing a Class-Action Lawsuit Over Pokémon GO Fest
@buildz Actually I didn't think of that.
Re: Niantic Is Facing a Class-Action Lawsuit Over Pokémon GO Fest
@buildz Atually Niantic run massive events for Ingress all the time.

Re: The Jackbox Party Pack 1 & 2 Are Coming to Nintendo Switch
2 is worth it for Earwax alone, but with Fibbage and Quiplash, Jackbox Party Pack 2 is my favourite.

Re: Pokémon GO Passes 752 Million Downloads, $1.2 Billion Revenue
@RadioHedgeFund They stopped showing other players' POkemon names and only show the breed, so they didn't have to wrry about policing the names.

@demonta4 Niantic are apparently adding more Pokestops to rural areas and gyms now work as Pokestops too.
