This controversy would have been a nontroversy if Nintendo was sane and actually priced this obvious low effort budget release at $20, instead of pretending it's a AAA release and thus setting expectations artificially high.

The attached poll should've had an "I'll buy it when it goes on sale" option. $60 for a 14 year old game is a bit too steep. I don't even think most brand new releases are worth $60.

These licensed third party controllers are cool aesthetically but they seem kinda pointless to me unless they have extra functionality not found in the first party controllers.

Honestly this probably one of the best reasons to only buy your switch games physically, or you could simply window shop for physical games at Walmart or Amazon and then buy the digital version if it's cheaper. Yes you'll miss some smaller games that can only be published digitally but that's part of the selling point, since shovelware is for the most part, impractical to release physically.

Buying any piece of physical Media from Amazon is a huge risk for me. Usually the box will come 1-5% damaged which is too much for my ocd.

It'd be nice if it referenced Super Metroid by running at a consistent 60fps.

Anyone else think it's odd that most games Nintendo has released for N64 Online have been single player focused? I bought 4 N64 controllers, give me Mario Party 2, 3, and Super Smash Bros. already!

I REALLY hope this isn't just Nintendo breaking up the the trilogy so they can sell each game individually, for $60, instead of giving us the entire trilogy in a package. But who am kidding? That's exactly what they're doing.

This is why I'm not a fan of indie games generally. They tend to be far too derivative of both other indie games, and far superior AA and AAA games.

No, because I'm tired of developers making excuses and blaming fans when games release unfinished. If they don't want people to think they're "lazy" they should apologize and fix the problems instead of complaining about internet trolls.

I have to disagree with the assertion that "being good" doesn't matter for games journalism. If a reviewer doesn't know the genre like the back of their hand, their perception of the games quality will be distorted. I can think of plenty of above average games that got sub par review scores because the reviewer didn't understand the games mechanics and thought they were "frustrating". I never watch sports and actively avoid simulation style games. You'd never want someone like me to review the next FIFA because I'd just dump all over it.

Anyone know if the game runs at 60fps? The previous 2 Kirby games on Switch ran at 30, which isn't ideal for a fighting game.

I actually think the Wii version looks better. The Switch version looks too cartoonish and oversaturated. The Assassin's Creed Ezio collection had a similar problem.

This kid can't be blamed for the scalpers, as he mentioned it's the short supply that's causing the high resale value. There would be the same amount of scalping with or without the bot.

I hope this only patches the duplication glitch and doesn't mess with the spawn mechanics of tarantulas....

@hakjie11 When my dad got a job in manufacturing for a transportation company they gave all their employees $20 per hour as a starting salary and this was in the 90's! Now the employees start out with $15 per hour and the senior employees think all the new people are complete dunces. People don't want "CEO wages" they just want enough money to support their family on a single income and that's not unreasonable if you ask me.

I'll stick to the Xbox One version. Portability has a price, and that price is 360p 20fps.

I've actually had to send my Switch into Nintendo for repair because it wouldn't read cartridges. However I've only bought Switch games new so it must have been a manufacturering error.

Here's a neat trick. Put Breath of the Wild in VR mode, but don't put on the goggles.
Hold your switch stable in front of your face, if you focus you should be able blend the two circles into one with your eyes. Congratulations your now playing breath of the wild in 3D.

Good, the loading times were atrocious in BOTW. The constant loading is one of the reasons it's my least favorite 3D Zelda.

I hope they let the players choose the ruleset. I don't want this to be mocked and ridiculed when Nintendo puts Great Cave Offensive on the Stage list.

Why would they bother trying to appeal to a non Japanese demographic when Western Countries are so afraid of female attractiveness that they can't even release their game in the region. This is coming from someone who doesn't even like anime. You're lucky they even give you an English option.

Remember when you could play the game in the car? Remember when those evolution stones didn't exist and you could evolve everything the same way? The game is just too Grindy now, I've l lost all interest. I can play the game for hours and make no meaningful progress.

No wonder it's failing. I would rather pay $120 per year for a game pass style service. That way online play stays free and Nintendo gets more money, everyone wins. I still haven't purchased this "service" (paywall) and this report has made me more confident in my decision.

I don't understand why the sexual and ethnic "diversity" of corporations needs to matter. Only two things matter. Are their employees treated fairly? Do they make a good product? I could list plenty of "diverse" companies that don't meet either of those criteria.

I think Starlink likely failed because the definite version of the game (the Switch version) required a mandatory download. The whole point of toys to life is to appeal to collectors and collectors prefer physical.

Can't wait to see how they screw the ruleset up on this one.

This is unsurprising. There is little violent crime in Japan so police have to be self rightous to stay relevant. Stealing a bike in Japan is the equivalent of grand theft auto.

@Trajan No, if they were that desperate they would give you the new Switch for free. Trying to purge the old Switch's would be a waste of time anyway. The Switch Homebrew scene is already very large and software exploits on newer Switch's are possible.
