If you're a keen Pokémon GO player, you'll no doubt be aware that Sinnoh Stones have become one of the more frustrating new additions to the game. They allow you to evolve some great Pokémon into amazing fighting machines, but getting your hands on one feels trickier than it needs to be.
Luckily, that's about to change this weekend, as Niantic is finally giving its players the chance to get lots of Sinnoh Stones quickly and easily. During February's Community Day, you'll be able to earn five of the pesky stones by challenging Team Leaders, and then another five from participating in Trainer Battles.
So when exactly is this Community Day taking place? Well, it's happening on 16th February from 10am - 1pm GMT. As well as picking up Sinnoh Stones, you'll be able to catch lots of Swinub (which, after evolving into Piloswine, can be evolved again into Mamoswine using one of your newly found Sinnoh Stones). It's almost like the whole thing was planned especially.
Have you been struggling to get Sinnoh Stones in your game? Will you be heading out this weekend to evolve 'em all? Let us know in the comments.

This is neat and all, but I have to ask why Nintendo Life doesn't cover other Nintendo Mobile game stuff like Fire Emblem Heroes? Idk I just find it odd that Pokemon Go is the only Nintendo mobile game covered on updates and events.
I'm skeptical because of ambiguous phrasing.
It's either you will earn 10 Sinnoh Stones if you do the 5 Trainer Battles and 5 practice Team Leader Battles, or you can potentially earn up to 10 Sinnoh Stones from doing these 10 battles.
Niantic has a very poor track record with communicating news and events clearly.
Edit: Looking it up further, a concrete answer was given to people reaching out to NianticHelp directly.

The 10 Sinnoh Stones are guaranteed, but the point remains that the news and events aren't communicated clearly enough if people needed to reach our for clarification.
Doesn't change that they shouldn't be so rare in the first place. Thankfully I only need a couple more.
Ancient Power is an awful move.
I'll only evolve my Piloswine after this event.
@patbacknitro18 They report more about Sega and Sony than the other Nintendo games. sigh.
@patbacknitro18 over than Pokémon go and Mario run, is there any Nintendo mobile game available in the west?
I couldn’t find FE in the App Store
@Tirza To be fair though, Nintendo News has been pretty dry as of lately. Why do you think people are so starved for a new Nintendo Direct lol. I think they'll have plenty of Nintendo articles to work on in the upcoming months with the Direct, game releases, and definitely E3.
@Tantani FE Heroes is available in the West. I have been playing it since it launched 2 years ago. Maybe it's just not compatible with your device? I use an Android Tablet to play mine.
@patbacknitro18 I agree. But this also the perfect time to do long articles about some curiosities, for example. Story about some games. A feature about Japan only games (Giftpia, Nintendo Puzzle Collection).
Nintendo Life is the best Nintendo site, but sometimes they seems a bit lazy.
Thank goodness! I already used three Sinnoh Stones, but I got like eight other Pokémon that need a Sinnoh Stone to evolve, despite me having the candies required.
@Tirza Ya true, but idk. Obviously, they can do more, like how Nintendo Everything does. But I always come to this site as it was always short, sweet, and to the point with it's articles. Always discussing the big topics and less about filler. And if a Nintendo Direct is coming on the 13th, then I hope that will give them articles to write about for the next few months. Nintendo said it had some unannounced games slated for 2019, and it better announce them soon. They even said they had a new game that would make full use of the online service. So hopefully that will replace Fortnite as Nintendo Lifes ongoing topic.
Well, I'm working on Community Day as with a lot of my friends so I'm missing out on shiny Swinub. I might be able to get those stones though.
Between EX Raids mostly landing on working days/hours & Community Days set on Saturday rather than Sunday.. anyone would think Niantic is deliberately trying to use up holiday hours in some sort of sinister scheme.
Its snowing hard where I'm at. So I doubt most people would be taking part in this
They are already not that hard to get. It's not super rare to get them from doing trainer battles or from the leaders. While it's nice they're doing this, it's not really that big of a deal.
Remember when you could play the game in the car? Remember when those evolution stones didn't exist and you could evolve everything the same way? The game is just too Grindy now, I've l lost all interest. I can play the game for hours and make no meaningful progress.
Pokémon GO just doesn't rhyme with winter to me. I'm sorry, but I'm a simple guy on that front.
That, and Niantic (or, rather, the Pokémon Company) just has to realise that daily login bonuses never killed anyone. Now that would justify all the anti-cheating efforts.
