This is bonkers to me considering they're still available at Argos. I kinda accepted I wasn't going to get one, but randomly checked Argos and BAM available. Very grateful!
I've read the game is full of technical issues and is missing a lot of the content from the DS version. I'm assuming most people don't know this when purchasing the Switch version.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to obtain a copy of the game in the UK. It's out of stock everywhere! Anyone with it in stock is charging at least £40.00 more than the rrp due to the limited stock , and I refuse to pay more than what Nintendo themselves are charging.
In the end I opted for the Fitness Boxing alongside daily yoga. For anyone else considering Fitness Boxing it's a great cardio workout and you definitely work up a sweat.
Warning folks. The story and world are utter nonsense, but there is some fun to have with the gameplay. I think how they price it will be the clincher.
They should be something you have to activate and not forced on you. I despise achievements, as I don't have the time to 100% many games, but with achievement it's like rubbing that fact in your face.
@Deathomen13 I would still tell everyone to avoid pre-ordering. Unless the developer can show actual Switch gameplay showing the port running sufficiently there is no reason why anyone should just take their word for it. The PC version is unnecessarily demanding, which gives further reason to be concerned about the switch port.
I would recommend people avoid this port. The games performance is far from perfect and suffers from astronomical loading times. Additionally, the Switch port isn't an up to date build and does not include the latest updates/content.
You can find Switch gameplay on Youtube if you'd like to check it out for yourselves.
I play a lot on PC, so playing any shooter on the Switch (or any console...) is just horrendous. I can't say I'm excited for this, even if the idea of it on the go is appealing. I think it'd be nice for those who have never experienced the series, as it's a great game.
I'll be honest, I'm surprised anyone is even bothering pointing a shooter on the Switch unless it has motion controls like the Wii. I've tried a few games on the Switch with FPS mechanics and it's just horrendous to aim at anything on the controller.
If this is true, I'd like to think it is because Nintendo is allowing Platinum to make the game they want. From what I remember it was Microsoft pushing the game to be a multiplayer game, while Platinum was trying to make the game more like a large scale RPG, with towns etc.
I think their silence is them learning from New Leaf where they showed too much and there was too big of a gap from announcement and launch. I'm hoping for gameplay today and a Summer release date...but I'm not getting my hopes up.
If this turns into 30 minutes of Square Enix announcements and not a shred of information on Animal Crossing I shall completely lose my [removed] and not in the good way.
Plus, I'm starting to get sick of ports. I want something new and not something I can already play on other platforms.
If they wasted a direct on the announcement of a remaster of one of the worst Assassins Creed games I'd be pissed. Just hurry up and give us some Animal Crossing news already!
Performance is a bigger concern of mine. Sure, games on PS4/Xbox/PC are prettier but I've often found that is at the detriment of the games stability. Take Shadow of the Tomb Raider for example, the game is beautiful but suffers horrendously in certain areas as they have clearly been overzealous and built something the platform can't handle. Granted, you could always argue this is down to the amount of effort the developer wants to put in. Panic Button are constantly proving that games can look fantastic on the Switch and be stable.
I don't agree that the Switch is for more casual gamers either (...this isn't the Wii). I also don't agree that Switch owners don't care about graphics. I think it's less of a concern but I do feel that the demand for and scrutiny over any ports of next gen games backs that up.
This would indeed be nice for those who want it. Personally, I'd give it a hard pass. Skyward Sword was an incredibly dumbed down Zelda experience, which was an insufferably bore.
There is literally no appeal to boost in the first place. The service is a serious mess and an incredible amount of work is needed to compete with other online services.
I was very excited about this game and I even pre-ordered it. However, it ended up being a quite bland experience. I adore vampires, but everything about the game was just kinda meh? Plus, the amount of dialogue was astronomical, you spent most of your time just listening to people go on and on. You could probably get away with it more if the voice acting was stronger but I found the lead of the game extremely monotonous sounding.
I don't see the point in this game being on the Switch (especially at that price). Is it going to make people switch from Mario Kart? No. It makes sense on other system as they don't have an experience like it.
I feel like the game should support current amiibo's. Imagine running around in armour inspired by various Nintendo series?... Or even better, what about running around as Tom Nook or something hilarious like that.
When does this game actually come out in the UK? I'm getting it should of released on the 24th August 2018 or it's releasing on the 21st of September...? Is there one release date for the digital version and one for the physical?
@CurtBro I think you're missing my point, the game is literally locked at 5-10 FPS consistently due to a GLITCH they are yet to fix. it has nothing to do with snobbery...it's literally a glitch. The glitch appears sometimes when I boot up and I have to do a reset to fix it, sometimes I have to literally reset the whole game several times until the glitch disappears. Plus, I've never said the game didn't look good, I literally just want then to fix this issue so I don't have to reset my game multiple times just so I can play it properly.
@CurtBro As previously mentioned there is a glitch locking the frame rate at much lower rate than it should be. At times it's like the whole game is in slow motion.
@Heavyarms55 I heard there was a glitch that locks the frame rate at much lower rate than the game is actually capable of outputting which I think I've been suffering from, it appears to be an intermittent issue as it only happens sometimes when I boot the game up and not others.

@GrailUK I got mine from Argos too and still a little nervous as well.

@Aneira What a ridiculous comment.
@Der The developers of LDC should be ashamed of themselves for the Switch port. I loved playing the game, but the performance was a joke!

Yes, I was not a fan of how the game ended up at all. I'd still totally dig something like the original vision.

ESO is an incredibly poorly optimised game on PC. So, even if it were possible I'd expect it to be a complete and utter mess on Switch.

I have to say I disagree with this. In the main city areas the FPS drops horrendously and it's like playing the game in slow motion.
