On a real note, the Switch's success concerns me because It's at best a step up from the DS or GameCube. Don't get me wrong, the Switch is an AMAZING console in 2006, but I already had the Gameboy Advance and Gamecube with the adaptor. I may be asking too much of Nintendo here, but I wouldn't mind if Nintendo's next console was a step up from the Wii, It's almost like that happened in 2012, I feel like there's a lot of potential for a console with features AND first party exclusives. I love playing iOS, PC and Wii U games on a HD GameBoy but I really do miss the days when Nintendo's consoles had features and their own games
The idea of a portable standalone gaming system is genius. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Nintendo's old consoles where there were features, apps, first party exclusives and the like, but having a HANDHELD system that does NOTHING BUT play videogames, that's so futuristic, and is definitely not something Nintendo has ever done between 1989 and 2015
Fun fact: In the Able Sister's, buying from the changing room is still one item from each category at a time, without the option of multi-selecting and buying in bulk. Another fun fact, in the same shop, there's NO indicator as to what items you do or don't already own (like how it shows you what bugs you've caught and donated), meaning you need to perfectly remember every single purchase you make. Also, the Nook catalog also has no indicator as to what items you already own (the one with daily rotating items). Also, You can't redeem Nook miles on more than one thing at once, or select how many of a thing you want, you also can't DIY craft a select amount of things at once, or buy a specified amount of anything anywhere.
But It's ok because they're drip feeding base game features from old games every 1-2 months
I mean the Switch hasn't even started being a console yet No features beyond playing games and a friends list, filled with ports, they haven't fixed the online yet, also NSO has no incentive beyond being drip fed 30 year old games The poor thing has been in its launch window for nearly 4 years At the rate Nintendo are going, the Switch would need to exist for at least 10 years before being half as good as the Wii
My favourite part of Monster Hunter is tanks and guns I fondly remember using an assault rifle to kill Jaggis in Monster Hunter Tri Nothing better than hunting dinosaurs in camo gear with guns
Imagine being a kid in the early 00's and being told that Mario, Sonic, Solid Snake, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Simon Belmont and Ryu would be in one fighting game. Imagine in 2010 being told that Minecraft Steve would be in that roster.
@invictus4000 We're not safe from Fire Emblem until Claude, Dimitri and Edelgard are all in We're also not safe from Pokemon because we don't have a Gen 8 rep yet
Can’t wait for all the information we already know at different camera angles with a release date I know im whining but I really don’t trust TPC to do this properly, or even for Tundra to have any content (since Armour and the base game didnt) The best we can realistically hope for is a new character reveal
@Ghostchip I took off the nostalgia goggles for it tbh The controls are passable, but the textures are dated, the camera controls are horrific, and It's glitchy as hell
I’ve been going on about MH Stories for years, I’m glad people are finally noticing this game I think I’ve called it my favourite Pokémon game on 3DS a number of times
I got 50 stars on 64 only yesterday so I might see if I can beat the game today It's aged horrifically but, I can't allow Nintendo's inability to fix broken games to get in the way of my enjoyment
Yet they still can't afford to give subscribers exclusive discounts on everything, or do something with the retro game "service" Like they're making that much from this but are scared of uploading roms of 20-40 year old games Alright
If this means anything other than Margot Robbie starring in a Metroid movie, a live action Zelda movie and a proper live action Pokemon movie it will be completely meaningless
Oh, Dwayne Johnson starring in an F-Zero movie too
@Zeldafan79 I spilled nothing on my launch joy-cons, was always careful with them, I got the drift. I mean hell my old 3DS, DSi, DS Lite, GBA SP, original GBA, Wiimote and nunchuk, Gamecube controller, PS1 and PS2 are still in perfect working order. I suffered bad anger issues as a child btw, and even my console that I used to hit repeatedly still work perfectly. Sometimes, you just have to admit that Nintendo are rubbish now.
@dew12333 I grew up back when Nintendo were on it, gave us new games, remakes were special and they actually gave a ***** My first Mario game was the OG all stars, like my first impression of Nintendo was a collection of four NES games remastered for the SNES on one cartridge
Expecting bare minimum from a company that used to make an effort isn’t entitled. Nintendo are that abusive significant other that beats you daily but sometimes gives you a chocolate bar to make you believe they care. 3D All Stars barely evening qualifies as that chocolate bar
3D Land: 9/10 (Too short) 3D World: 8/10 (honestly don’t know, it just didn’t hit quite right) 64: 8/10 (aged horribly, can’t stand the controls and physics) 64 DS: 5/10 (D-Pad and Yoshi) Galaxy: 7/10 (it looks better than it plays imo) Galaxy 2: 8/10 (same problem but it has Yoshi and I prefer the old school level progression) Odyssey: 4/10 (WAAAAAY too short, not many kingdoms, they’re also a bit small) Sunshine: 3/10 (played it for the first time recently and couldn’t survive half an hour)
@Clyde_Radcliffe Why do I care if people miss out on something they care a lot about, despite the fact that I personally think It's a lazy cash grab? Oh I don't know, maybe because I understand that even though I think It's rubbish, other people might love it and really want it. There's this amazing thing people have called an "opinion" where they can have thoughts or feelings on something, and It's completely different to how someone else may think or feel about the same thing!
@JuiceMan_V Sorry but I stopped listening after "Nintendo can do what they want" You can't just defend rubbish behaviour based on 1970's parenting tactics, like that's what you say when your dad doesn't let you have a burger king or something, not when a major company goes out of their way to make people miss out on an overpriced and incomplete collection of roms

Re: Epic's Apple Lawsuit Could Have "Significant And Serious Ramifications" For Platform Holders Like Nintendo
@Eel That's gruesome
Microtransactions are how devs make money on free games, how are the bigger companies so out of touch

Re: Square Enix Will Share More Information About Bravely Default II Soon
@Averagewriter sounds like a you problem
It's about characters rather than nameless avatars
Re: Epic's Apple Lawsuit Could Have "Significant And Serious Ramifications" For Platform Holders Like Nintendo
I just wanna know why Apple NEED 30% of what completely separate companies make
And why taking less would damage the company
Re: Mini Review: Macbat 64 - A Pitifully Weak Clone Of Those N64 Platformers You Know And Love
@Paraka It's not huge, but at the end of the day it is a game that's less than £2
Re: Mini Review: Macbat 64 - A Pitifully Weak Clone Of Those N64 Platformers You Know And Love
@Kalmaro aye, better than Mario 64 in terms of controls for sure
Re: Mini Review: Macbat 64 - A Pitifully Weak Clone Of Those N64 Platformers You Know And Love
@Kalmaro You definitely are, if you like old school platformers you'll love it
Re: Mini Review: Macbat 64 - A Pitifully Weak Clone Of Those N64 Platformers You Know And Love
@Yanina Yeah I feel like the reviewer missed the point of the game. It actually controls better than Mario 64
Re: Mini Review: Macbat 64 - A Pitifully Weak Clone Of Those N64 Platformers You Know And Love
@Silly_G I mean, I miss it, a lot, and I bought this game day 1 and absolutely love it

America got ripped off there
It's cheaper by literally a cent to buy the two things separately I'm pretty sure

@Ghostchip Oh damn haha I love Allister tbh, he was a major selling point for me
Re: Macbat 64 Brings N64-Inspired 3D Platforming To Switch Later This Week
@Ghostchip Yeah basically, Mario 64 and Crash are the basic answers for "definitive platformer" but, Banjo-Kazooie is definitely THE 3D platformer
Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Next DLC Fighter To Be Revealed Tomorrow, 1st October
Edelgard, Claude and Dimitri in one character slot
Either that, or Zarude for the Gen 8 Pokemon rep

We're also not safe from Pokemon because we don't have a Gen 8 rep yet
Re: Macbat 64 Brings N64-Inspired 3D Platforming To Switch Later This Week
Also, the "N64 inspired" part should read "Banjo-Kazooie inspired"

I hope the developer makes a 2D sidescroller follow-up called "Super Macbat Adventure"

3D Land: 9/10 (Too short)
3D World: 8/10 (honestly don’t know, it just didn’t hit quite right)
64: 8/10 (aged horribly, can’t stand the controls and physics)
64 DS: 5/10 (D-Pad and Yoshi)

Galaxy 2: 8/10 (same problem but it has Yoshi and I prefer the old school level progression)
Odyssey: 4/10 (WAAAAAY too short, not many kingdoms, they’re also a bit small)
Sunshine: 3/10 (played it for the first time recently and couldn’t survive half an hour)

Ys VIII is half price right now so, probably that
