I finished The Isle of Armor a few days ago and I really liked it, so I'm looking forward to The Crown Tundra, specially because it seems to have a lot of dungeons to explore (there were very few in the main story of Sword/Shield) and old legendaries to capture.
I hope it releases in october
While imo the main game was very lackluster, I really enjoyed the first DLC and therefore I'm looking forward to the second one
@mariomaster96
How big was the DLC compared to the main game?
@Robo-Knight 1st DLC was not a huge addition which was disappointing- perhaps 3-6 hours. Hopefully Thundra will be more.
@Robo-Knight can't really say but I can say that completing the dlc story, catching all new (old) pokemon and finding all digletts took me about 12h which is ok imo for a first dlc. i guess the second dlc will offer more
Well, I completed Isle of Armor months ago so I'm ready to tackle the Crown Tundra for Legendary Pokemon.
@Patendo The Diglett Hunting was the most annoying part though since you had to look carefully to spot the three hairs. Hopefully they don't do something like that for Crown Tundra.
@Torakaka well it was completely optional so I don't see the problem with it, actually i hope there is something like that because it gives you a reason to carefully explore the area
I really hope this one is more difficult than the Isle of Armor. (Though the chances of that happening are pretty slim.)
Let's see if they plan to release a complete edition with the base game and the DLCs. That way I'd consider get into this entry.
@mariomaster96 It was the sheer number that was annoying. Don't get me wrong, using the premise to find missing Pokemon is a good way to explore the Island but 151 is excessive despite the rewards involved.
@the_beaver : That's the only way they'll see another dollar out of me. Paying almost as much for friggin' DLC as what I used to pay for complete physical games on DS and 3DS back in the day (with the latter having more content than Sword and Shield) is a joke, not to mention separate fees for online play/trading (which was free) and transferring Pokémon from previous generations (which wasn't as stupidly expensive as it is now).
If I had known ahead of time that Sword/Shield was going to be supplemented with DLC, I likely wouldn't have bought the games at all, and this is coming from somebody that loves Pokémon, but I am not willing to continue supporting the downward trajectory of the franchise.
Tell you what Game Freak. Add an option to play without the Dynamax bs (including AI not using it), and I'll consider getting either one of these games, maybe even with the DLC.
Otherwise, no dice.
@Yosher How about improving said AI so that they could actually heal their Pokemon or Cheer when they fall? I mean you and I have had AI teammates that frustrates you because of the fact that they don't do that when you needed it.
Is this the part where they reveal everything and leave no surprises?
@Torakaka That would be nice too but them just giving an option to play without Dynamax being present would be a godsend to me. This gimmick takes all the fun out of the game for me, just like its previous two similar gimmicks did (mega evolution and z moves).
What do I need to do in order to get GF to give us back Blaziken?
I'd be tickled pink if after Crown Tundra info, they announce a third DLC expansion
i can't wait until tomorrow
Will not be watching. I find these games and dlc are more enjoyable when you play them knowing almost nothing going in. Kinda how like movie trailers spoil too much of the plot.
I thought the main game was alright (not as abysmal as most people make it out to be). I thought the first DLC was fantastic, so I'm excited for this one as well!
Hope it will be released soon. Gonna check ik out tomorrow
Anyone remembers the 24h livestream of last year? Yeah, that was something huh
I'm planning to get the DLC on October anyway, but the Crown Tundra is where I am most interested definitely.
@Yosher I personally hated Z moves with a passion. Megas were... Okay. I mostly enjoyed the cool designs of them more then anything.
But Dynamax feels fine to me. There's a lot of strategy behind when and how to use and overcome Dynamax Pokemon. It also makes WAY more Pokemon viable for competitive play, and once this DLC drops and legendaries, psuedo legendaries, and Ultra Beasts are running wild in the meta I feel like Dynamax will really help to keep them in check and balance things out. ( assuming legendaries and Ultra Beasts won't be able to Dynamax... If they can the game is over imo. )
@Deege It's really not the balance issue for me, it's more that all these kinds of things make the Pokemon feel much less like living, breathing creatures to me and more like tools of war, and I really do not like getting this vibe, regardless of whether it's perfectly balanced or not.
I understand people still enjoy it regardless but I'm not one of them, but I'd still like to be able to enjoy Pokemon again too, and the ability to disable Dynamax shenanigans and the like would be a great step in the right direction for me. With a toggle like this, people who enjoy it can still enjoy it while people like me can enjoy it our own way without these gimmicks being shoved down our throats.
Can’t wait for all the information we already know at different camera angles with a release date
I know im whining but I really don’t trust TPC to do this properly, or even for Tundra to have any content (since Armour and the base game didnt)
The best we can realistically hope for is a new character reveal
@Yosher That makes sense. While you could definitely ignore dynamax for like 90% of the game, there's no avoiding it during gym battles. EVERY gym except for one uses Dynamax and so does the champion, so I can understand not enjoying that aspect.
Can't wait to be disappointed for the third time by Sword & Shield.
About time. I finished IoA months ago, I've been waiting for details on this forever. Hopefully we'll finally get a release date.
This is exciting! I hope they add Buizel...
I jumped on the DLC late so I just recently finished the DLC campaign but I’m still playing & trying to catch all the added Pokémon. Really excited for Crown Tundra. I like that it’s going to be legendary focused. Can’t wait to add all those amazing Pokémon to my dex.
