Pokémon HOME will finally be able to connect to smartphone game Pokémon GO by the end of the year, The Pokémon Company has confirmed.
The app, which currently lets players transfer Pokémon between games on Nintendo Switch and with past titles through Pokémon Bank, will soon allow monsters to be traded from Pokémon GO. A new chart showing how all of the games can connect was shown during today's Pokémon presentation.

Interestingly, by transferring a monster from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME, players will receive a Mystery Gift for a special Melmetal which can Gigantamax. No such Melmetal has ever been released before.

Gigantamax Melmetal
Height: 82'+
Weight: ????.? lbs.
Type: Steel
Ability: Iron Fist
While Gigantamaxed, the Mythical Pokémon Melmetal can use its flexible and elastic liquid-metal body to land punches even when opponents keep their distance. Steel-type attacks used by Gigantamax Melmetal will change to G-Max Meltdown, a powerful move that slams opponents with shock waves and swirling liquid metal. This move doesn’t only deal damage to opponents—it also prevents them from using the same move consecutively.
If a solid release date for Pokémon HOME's GO connectivity is revealed, or should the service go live before we get an announcement, we'll be sure to let you know.

I worked my butt off for a melmetal and now I can get one that gigantamax's for free? Wish I had known earlier lol
I want to Pokemon GO!
Well I guess time to reinstall GO (when the update comes), transfer a pokemon to Home and delete GO again
I'll have to download GO again just for that Melmetal. Biggest news of the presentation and it's disappointing they didn't have a concrete date for it.
Wow ‘all of the games you can connect’ are... Sword, Shield and the expansion pass. So basically one game?
Legendaries are basically worthless these days as they give them away like there’s no tomorrow. Much preferred to actually catch them in the game using status moves and balls. I even preferred having to go to the stores to collect the codes, at least you had to do something.
Nice so legends will be common af
Available in HOME? So, just like with the Zeraora, the higher ups don't realise that some people actually have both games
@MagnaRoader that road to 400 candies took forever when you had to transfer 1 at a time as well
Serebii is reporting some very interesting and not so great news about this connectivity

@MagnaRoader lol
same here though.
I really don't understand what's taken so long for this feature. Like, really really don't understand.
But I am so glad it's here! I can't wait to bring a bunch of my shinys from Go into SW/SH to use on ladder and in raid battles!
@UmbreonsPapa
The source is a placeholder response from TPC to a fan question. I wouldn't be too worried
I have a bunch of legendaries in Go so being able to free up box space and have legendaries for all my future games will be helpful.
Guessing mythical pokemon will still be a no no but ehh.
