@Tsuchinoko There are lots of churches/mosques/synagogues that are anti-gay. I'd even bet MOST of them are. That doesn't mean the people in them are homophobes. Not that IKEA needs more money, but I always thought they'd make an absolute fortune if they introduced a line of Animal Crossing furniture. And I don't mean furniture with the AC logo stamped on it. I mean furniture designed to look like some of the in-game furniture items. If that day ever comes, I'm throwing out all my furniture and sashaying down to IKEA to max out my credit cards.

The shops should require people to make an appointment to purchase the cards and limit purchases to one pack. No more bloodshed.

300 hours in and I still have at least another 600 hours to go until I’m satisfied with my island. I feel like ACNH is more of a hobby than a game. Aaah Japan, how I love you. Polite people. You can leave your laptop on a table at a cafe and it’ll still be there when you come back. Everything is colourful and fun. Toys and games and theme parks are everywhere. Fascinating history/art/architecture. Delicious food. Well-behaved children. And Tokyo has a population of 38 million, yet life has continued pretty much normally during the pandemic because people wear masks. Even with the highest population of elderly people, their death rate is tiny compared to the west. PLEASE LET ME IN!!!

I also noticed that when you invite an animal to your camp, they removed the phrase “I can’t breathe” from one of the animals little ramblings. The one where they say “ I’ve got potato chips, pickle chips, chocolate chips...but I didn’t bring my TV. No TV ! I can’t breathe!” or whatever they say, can’t remember the exact phrasing. Anyway, they must’ve taken it out because of the George Floyd murder. I’m sure it had been written months before that incident but probably a good idea to take it out.

At this point I just hope that the forced quarantines start AFTER I get my new horizons console and game. I’d rather the virus just go away of course, but it’s beginning to look a little...apocalyptic? Nobody seems to be doing anything about it. Sure, scientists are studying drugs and vaccines but they like to take forever because we’re all just numbers to them, not human beings.

So why do they hate Animal Crossing so intensely?

It sounds to me like Nintendo are listening to fans and trying to find a solution that will satisfy both them and us. I suspect this is due to their new, younger leadership. A few years ago they would’ve just released the game with their typical take-it-or-leave-it attitude.

Well this blows. I pre-ordered two Animal Crossing Switches from two different stores. I hope I get at least one of them. And I hope this Coronavirus starts to level off and drop soon. It’s not as deadly as the seasonal flu but it seems to spread easier. I’m old so I remember SARS and that was with us for almost a year before infection rates declined.

Well it ain’t Animal Crossing, I can tell you that much. Come ooooon, March 20th!

I hate to break it to the lovely people of Europe and the UK, but you’ll be “forking out” for the game as well. It doesn’t come free with the console in those regions. It’s included with it, but you pay extra for it. Finally, some justice for North Americans!

Why is Japan the only one affected by this? I assume the North American and European and UK consoles are made in China as well.

The Nintendo Switch has so much to offer the consumer, including flavoured game cartridges.

I’m sure I’ve spent at least $1000.00 on Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. New Horizons can’t come soon enough for me.

I really hope we’ll be able to craft all the special event items we got in Pocket Camp. Some of the fortune cookie items are really cute and well designed. I’m a little bored with the usual furniture series like modern, princess, balloon, etc etc. Even if they are in HD, they’re all boring and old. I also hope they tie the game in with the Switch phone app somehow.

None of it is available in North America? Why is this merchandise only available in the island nations of Japan, UK, and Australia? Nintendo are taking this whole island theming a bit too far.

It’s a children’s game so of course it makes money. How many grandparents are shoving Xbox and PlayStation gift cards into birthday/Christmas/Hanukkah cards not knowing what the hell they’re giving little Tommy or Suzy?
