As you may already know, the brand new Mario Café and Store located at Universal Studios Japan has now opened its doors, and an opening ceremony took place to welcome the very first visitors inside.
You can check out that ceremony in the video above; both Mario and Luigi – yes, the real, living versions that are definitely not fictional characters – turned up and put on a quick show, with confetti and music adding some excitement to the occasion.
Thanks to the following video report from NHK WORLD News, we've also been treated to a better look inside. Do we wish we could fly over there and eat all of these Mario-themed items? You bet we do.
Remember, the Super Nintendo World theme park itself is due to open in spring 2021 after originally being planned for a summer 2020 launch.

nice!!! good job!
Aside from other observations made in the video, it was fun to see they made a production out of it and the use of Mario music and sound effects. I feel like Mario is of the iconic status that anything short of something like this would be criminal
Can I have one in my local village please?
I am curious to know if there is an homage to Iwata and a Reggie reference somewhere in the park.
Ah yes, I shall add this to my list of ''Awesome places I will never see for myself''.
Japan just gets all the best stuff!
@Yosher same. shame on japan.
USJ was amazing without super nintendo world, I can just imagine the new wonders already..
Looks really good. Shame my younger kids are unlikely to ever go there.
@TexanSansei
What is this 'obvious' exception?
@acNewUpdates he can't dance in the games:(
All they need is a few generic american's standing around in gray suits talking gibberish (like in new donk city). And I, for one, would like that job. XD I love the english gibberish in New Donk City<33
same. XD. i want there one to be near all of us.
@acNewUpdates @WoomyNNYes everyone ''
If I ever do have a vacation in Japan, I'd totally go there. Hopefully there will be a Mario cafe in the US too!
Man this should be in every city lol. No more mc donalds, but marios cafe and being served by toads 🤣. Can i have a green mushroom please!?
Every holiday the nephews come from Spain I take them to the Nintendo Store on the way to see the Tree at Rockefeller Center.
They have a blast (and that is just a store) I can only imagine how much more fun this would be for them.
@RPGamer If you wan't it quicker the Hollywood version is a lot further along in construction. The Florida version is going to be relocated back into the Universal Orlando theme park and starting again from scratch. It was going to be a part of the new big Epic Universe park but that's been put on the back burner indefinitely due to that COVID.
Aaah Japan, how I love you. Polite people. You can leave your laptop on a table at a cafe and it’ll still be there when you come back. Everything is colourful and fun. Toys and games and theme parks are everywhere. Fascinating history/art/architecture. Delicious food. Well-behaved children. And Tokyo has a population of 38 million, yet life has continued pretty much normally during the pandemic because people wear masks. Even with the highest population of elderly people, their death rate is tiny compared to the west. PLEASE LET ME IN!!!
@acNewUpdates Probably DDR: Mario Mix or Just Dance

The rest of USJ is pretty cool as well.

We never did get a Super Nintendoland, but now we have Super Nintendo World. ^^
So much fun to see! Reminds me of the Kirby / Pokemon Cafe's.
Visiting Japan is definitely on my bucket list! I would have to hit up each type of Cafe before leaving.
