Having backwards compatibility for Switch 2 is essential, so much so If I break my switch I’d just buy another one. Backwards compatibility is the only reason I’d be down to buying Switch 2 day one. Or else I’ll get it years down the line when I’m done with the massive backlog I have on the switch, we’re talking 100’s 😏

This year’s FIFA (EA FC) game is a leap in the right direction. Finally Switch gets the Frostbyte engine. As someone who played the beta of EA FC 24, I can tell you that the game is stable 30fps and the game feels good. It’s not comparable to the PS and Xbox version by any means. I got the feeling with my hands on with the beta is that a lot of the physics engine didn’t make it to the switch version even though the game itself made the switch to the Frostbyte engine. But the game looks and feels good on Switch. This may be the best FIFA a Nintendo console has gotten in modern times and IT’S NOT GOING TO GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS on the Nintendo switch. It’s a hardware limitation that the developer has hit.

Guys! the Switch Pro is coming, I’m calling it here. Those textures in that teaser are way too good for the Switch to handle. Unless they’re running it on a PC for the trailer, which could most probably end up being the case. But if that was the case Nintendo usually puts some sort of a disclaimer which they didn’t in this trailer. Obviously this is just a speculation driven by my logic 😅

The CEO telling that the FIFA licence has actually been an impediment has me dead, that’s just too much salt 😂 the franchise survived literally back off the FIFA licence because gameplay wise there was a good decade where PES were head and shoulder above FIFA games in gameplay innovations. FIFA’s main attraction was they had players licence and that’s what kept them afloat. It’ll be interesting because now neither EA nor Konami have official licensing.

Those textures and framerate though 😬 I’m rooting for Pokémon Legends : Arceus but I’m highly sceptical from everything I’ve seen so far. Think the transition to HD might just have been too much, too soon for Game Freak. The world looks bland and empty. Maybe there’s unique mechanics and exceptional gameplay that we’ve not seen who knows. That would still make this game decent. I’m doubtful lol

Looks like the EU version will be requiring a download after all. Retailers have started to update their listing with image similar to the US version. Had my hopes up with Nintendo publishing the game. Imagine when Nintendo themselves are being a cheapskate about using the 32GB cards why do they expect 3rd party companies to pioneer this trend? Now 64GB cards is a whole different story lol 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

@nukatha what’s wrong with the mobile versions? The graphics are remastered with better lighting and plays at 60fps. They’re perfectly fine. But ofcourse if rockstar wants to add more elements visually, it would be welcomed. But i doubt the Switch can handle it.

Love the chibi art. This looks freaking beautiful. Would have loved it to be 60fps but by the looks of it, seems it's 30fps. If it's consistent 30fps without frame pacing I'll be just fine 👍

I don't understand this logic. What's the problem with Nintendo celebrating the 35th-anniversary of Mario in their own way? Nintendo is treating this release as an event. So why not join the event. If you are interested in this game, just get it. If you're kinda broke then the fun is to try and get this game while the event lasts. If you're not sure if you want it now and you're interested later after the event is over then you've missed it, end of story. It's like there's this super cool party and you arrive after the party is over and complain why no one waited for you?

@TeslaChippie i think that is what it is. Nintendo's business plan to spread out releases and not reveal the release date just yet and put any pressure on themselve. Also to have a bigger impact when Bayonetta 3 is finally shown off because so little detail is out in the wild. So i think Nintendo will wait until they are ready to release. I have a feeling the game is done.

Sounds like the game is completed and just that Nintendo is undecided about when to release the game? Maybe Nintendo is just spreading its big releases because it doesn't have too many big titles in development. But that's just me reading between the lines lol

RIP Pro Evolution Soccer now that EA has the licence to Champions League PES will be irrelevant to most. I loved the Master League from PES 5 and that's my favorite football game and until 2010 I was all PES but after that they lost me. And now this happens, I had my doubts Konami wouldn't even try for that Champions League renewal also EA got that money and Now PES will have to go crazy creative and innovative now. It's Konami, so personally I think this is the beginning of the end for PES.

Wasn't Runner 3 initially revealed as a Switch exclusive?

If this included the physical copy of Bayonetta 1 i would've bought it in a heartbeat but since i have the special edition on Wii U, not so tempting. I'll pass. I would've paid higher price for the physical game included and i can't be bothered to import the special edition from Japan , but I envy.

@shani Your problem is you're only seeing it from your point of view and assuming everyone else thinks likewise. Or you see that as the ultimate truth or somethin. I don't have any problem playing old games that spark my interested. I recently beat Max Payne and San Andreas, playing Bully now with absolutely zero problem once you see past the outdated graphics. And games like Super Mario World and many other games from that era hold up Very well to this day even by modern standards and part of the Reason why indies have tried to replicate the type of gameplay over the years. Of which many of these 8/16 Bit era games I've only had access to with a modern hardware or Emulation and I've enjoyed them thoroughly, some more than a lot of the highly rated modern titles. And NO, Not everyone has a PC or laptop, I have a laptop good enough to game on it but I play ZERO games on it because, I don't like to game on it. It's just not convenient for my taste And I don't have a gaming PC, though i have multiple consoles and that's just how I like to play games. I had an Xbox 360 back then and never played LA Noire or Skyrim because I wasn't interested in playing them. Over the years my taste in gaming has changed and I'm interested in playing them now and it's on the console of my choice. So what do I do??? I think I will APPRECIATE them and the fact that I get to play some great games I missed.

Overtaking in raw power isn't the same as overtaking Nintendo Switch in gaming performance itself because of the resources available for pure gaming. It's more than just raw power. Basically Raw power wise the Apple A10x chip is head and shoulder above the Nvidia Tegra X SoC in every department but the Switch would still be able to pump better graphics, higher textures, better physics etc. except maybe loading times purely because switch is designed to be a gaming device first and other mobile device share so much of those resources doing multitasks and other stuffs in the background eating so much of that power leaves less for gaming. On the other hand Switch's hardware is designed to do gaming first and that's where the custom Tegra X SoC comes in play with majority of its resources dedicated to gaming with specific spec partitioned for the Operating System. So for now mobile can't outdo the Switch in gaming. But in few years time it will even rival PS4. So it's not just the Switch, but will it get the AAA titles the Switch will get? I'm not sure. But as far as Indies, Apple's iOS platform is already a great place, I love it and even with it's current hardware it should have no problem with any Indies.

Netflix, Amazon Video and YouTube is all I need and I'm good.

Just to clear everyone here IT'S NOT GONNA BE THE SAME AS XBOX 360/PS3 VERSIONS. I think EA has done a good job trying to get the best possible version for the Switch. It's still gonna be Pre Frostbite engine FIFA game, but not the PS3/Xbox 360 version. It's gonna be based off the first next gen FIFA game and that is FIFA 14/15/16 for PS4 which is based on Ignite engine and not the previous gen version because the previous gen versions don't have PBR (Physical Based Rendering) http://nintendoeverything.com/wp-content/uploads/fifa-18-screen.jpg
even the PC had to wait a year to finally get the next gen ignite engine version in FIFA 15. Switch isn't getting the Alex Hunter story experience because that mode is made on Frostbite engine and what we have here is a completely different engine and that's the reason why but EA haven't left out the most important And popular features and FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) is here. And they've made improvements in AI from the FIFA 17 game which is a great thing, all of these shows they've tried to get the best possible version for Switch. So this has my vote and I'm sure if this version does well they'll take the effort to port frostbite engine version eventually if it's possible but what people need to understand is it takes time and effort, and that the switch is no PS4. It just isn't powerful enough and the engines need to be tweaked heavily and optimised. Now i wanna see the game in action. But i think it's gonna be a good experience overall and you get to play it anywhere.

@retro_player_22 I'm going to stress that this possibly is going to be a better option even compared to the Switch pro controller for anything that uses the Dpad. The Dpad on the Switch Pro Controllers are BAD. So I'm looking into this because it's reasonably priced and looks pretty damn good.

As long as the game is about cutting grass and chopping trees i don't have a problem with Zelda being on smartphones 😁 On a serious note I'm curious to see what they do with Zelda on smartphone platforms if this is real that is. Having said that i don't think this is gonna be a core experience, and people shouldn't expect an Oceanhorn here because that is a very good game and i would consider that as a core experience and for that to happen Nintendo needs to put a lot of effort and resource on the game, I think it's going to be more of a Bejeweled or Candy Crush.

It needs major rework if it were to run on the switch because of the huge gap between the Switch and PS4/Xbone/PC. I don't think it's coming to the Switch but i hope it does. During the Wii U era we got a few Call Of Duty games because Activision was also developing those titles for the Xbox 360 and PS3. So unless Nintendo stepped up or Activision sees a huge market (which there isn't) It's not coming.

I don't know how to feel when games like World of Goo and Little Inferno gets a release for switch because they're great games but I've literally been playing it in my iPad and iPhone for what feels like an eternity and same goes for other great Indies that are out for ages on the most accessible platform but to people who've not played the game just play it it's GREAT.

@Kalmaro I'm excited thinking about the possibilities of games that the Switch will get in the following years but for launch there is nothing that caught me off guard in the announcement and surprised me to get my hype up. I knew exactly what to expect from it and got something close to that. Ofcourse I'm excited to play Zelda, but it's Snipperclips that has the rest of my interest and I'll finally be playing a Bomberman game in a decade so all's good just not Super hyped.

Is it just me or anyone else not much hyped about the Switch release? I mean I am getting the Switch day one, had it Pre-ordered the second it was put up for order. But if I'm completely honest I'm only buying it because I know down the line there's definitely going to be great games for the Switch. Atleast they're pushing the Switch marketing properly this time around but the Switch announcement wasn't anything special and the launch is lacklustre. I don't see switch is going to attract non-Nintendo gamers. They could still make their own market but as a ps4 owner, i don't see why i should buy switch. People who never played Nintendo console wouldn't care or bother because they're not gonna consider buying switch thinking down the line it's going to have great games and funny I could play Zelda on a Wii U which i bought initially to play Zelda and years later I'm gonna play that very Zelda game on a switch. I'm still getting it day one and I was gonna get it anyway whether it was hyped or not but I'm intrested to see how it fares among other gamers. I'm excited for the future but not hyped for the launch

I think people should calm down a little here. If you remember a while back Capcom said that 50% of the game was finished so that's still halfway to go. I definately think it's going to get better. But this is not why I dig thid game for. If this game is done properly it's going to be a blast, one of the games that i'm looking forward to.

@CircuitWrangler3 Graphics and the looks of the game is the last thing I would care about FIFA on switch but when i said I wanted a version equivalent to the PS4 i meant the game playing like FIFA 18 on the next gen engine that FIFA on the PS4 would be based off, even PC got the next gen engine but only starting FIFA 16. The FIFA on PS3/Xbox 360 and PS4 are based on two different engines and I've already moved on from the last gen engine since FIFA 14 so going back would be a huge downgrade because they play differently the way the player reacts to the ball, makes touches, shoots, pass, first touches its different. I wouldn't even mind if it had the FIFA's graphics that of iPad but somehow managed to run on the next gen engine lol

Ok the FIFA shown in the commercial, that definitely looks like the PS3/Xbox 360 version of the game. I don't think games like FIFA and COD are going to be a thing on the Switch, but you never know. I personally really wanted a version equivalent to the PS4 so i could ditch PS4 altogether. But I think that's a lot to ask from Switch's point of view because it just doesn't have enough power to run the Next Gen FIFA engine.

@BigWhoady I'm sure what @SLIGEACH_EIRE meant was as a home console Switch can't compete with PS4 and Xbox one. What I can say is in terms of third party games it can't compete against the other two because it just doesn't have enough power to port all AAA 3rd party titles without downscaling the games by a lot and even then the graphically demanding games won't be possible and say if a game is out on all platforms, unless someone only has Switch as their console people are gonna prefer the PS4 version due to it being superior, but it will be better case than the Wii U because most of lesser demanding titles will see a switch release because porting the games over to switch is fairly simple due to its architecture also what can happen is if it sells like hotcakes, like crazy thn 3rd parties can create some content for the Switch exclusively.

The tone I which he speaks is more like he's belittling Nintendo and he definitely doesn't see Nintendo as a threat but the way Nintendo's been i wouldn't blame him. And realistically Sony is covering every possible mainstream gamers So until the Switch takes off on a very high note no reason for the PlayStation to be concerned with switch as a competition.

@AVahne NVIDIA's Tegra SoC's have always been a top dog in performance, always right there with the best alongside Apple's SoC's. It's only real problem was it's power management, it drained a lot of battery. So I don't understand why you're asking to check expectations? As for for me I have high expectations, even more after the Tegra X1.

Ok to anyone having the crash issue on a Jailbroken iPhone, I can confirm that this issue is caused due to the state of your Device. So apparently Nintendo doesn't want their app to run on any jailbroken devices. So THIS IS HOW YOU FIX the crashes on a jailbroken iPhone. Go to Cydia and add the insanelyi repo if you haven't already. Search for a mod called Xcon and install it. What this basically does is bypass the security check that an app does to know if you are jailbroken. You're ready to go. I've checked it myself and works.

MIITOMO IS CRASHING??? What a way to start. The app is not working for me. It crashes straight after I tap the app with the Miitomo screen showing up and then Crashes. This is on iPhone 6s, iOS 9.0.2. Anyone else?

The very first time I boot up the game I could tell it was Sub 720p. The textures are muddy and the environment looks fuzzy. The game itself is good looking but playing on a 60" TV exposes a lot of the bad textures. I feel Wii U games are best played on 40" TV's or below. The resolution trade-off was maybe wise decision overall but I'd have preferred sharper textures and rather toned down graphics a bit to run smoothly. But overall achieving a constant 60fps was better for the game so It's ok, but not impressive and I can live with it.

Definately a Day 1 download

Playing it on an iPhone and I must say it is a brilliant game. Anyone on the fence should definately give it a go.

I will always prefer Physical over digital and the only time i will go digital is if a game is eShop exclusive. Why?
Because I can hug my games, carry it with me, feel them and appreciate them, smell them, the joy of unwrapping a game disc is priceless, Using it as a mirror, I can decorate them, above all I can play them even when they are taken off the server and the console is no longer supported. So many reasons I'll always prefer physical discs.

@melvin2898 3DS is a DEDICATED GAMING CONSOLE and that's the difference. Now by defination yes it is mobile but don't confuse it with a mobile PHONE.
