Re: Cave Story+ Launches on the Switch on 20th June

Kolzig

@switchvogel Would it be possible to get an official comment from Tyrone that will he ever release that Cave Story 3D digitally on 3DS and what happened to the original plans to release it in 2014 like Nintendolife even reported about it?

Re: Cave Story+ Launches on the Switch on 20th June

@admwllms
Do you mean the actual remade 3D version of the game? The Cave Story that I mean is this:

http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/ge62q-HNR_1yhCLxHMVebxzK78kUhpJX
http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-3DS/Cave-Story-3D-273984.html

For me Nintendo UK's website says "A download version of this game is not available to purchase on this website." and that's always there when a eShop version is not available for download in Europe. In the 3DS eShop the game's page says "coming soon" if I view it on the console.

E: To me it's so weird that Nicalis did promise this version's eShop release in Europe and North America back in 2014, but it never arrived. At least it's not available in Finland. The news was even reported in Nintendolife:

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/07/cave_story_3d_to_arrive_on_3ds_eshop_in_north_america_and_europe_this_year

Re: Cave Story+ Launches on the Switch on 20th June

I wonder is Tyrone Rodriguez EVER going to release Cave Story 3D in Europe. It's so weird that in the 3DS eShop the product page has been saying for six years now coming soon. The physical version of that is so rare that it's pointless to try to hunt it down. As a digital version I would buy it.

I know it's the worst version of the game and I own Cave Story already on Wiiware, DSiWare on 3DS and PC, but it would be still fun to try it out. Pretty much only choice at this point is to get an emulator running on PC because I have no trust in Nicalis releasing anything in Europe for 3DS.

Also, I'm pretty sure this Switch version will only be digital for Europe, so if European gamers want physical Switch games from Nicalis, you will have to order it from America. Nicalis doesn't put effort to European physical releases.

Re: Realistic Puddles Are Reason #243 That Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is Awesome

Kolzig

It's funny, I'm almost 30 hours into the game and I have not had a single rain yet or a thunderstorm. I have seen fog, sandstorms and snowfall though and snowballs which have the most awesome physics ever. This game is so great. I'm happy if there weren't any other games coming this year to any other platform. I'm quite busy with Breath of the Wild for a loooong time to the future.

Re: The Fall Part 2: Unbound is Confirmed for Nintendo Switch But Isn't Coming to Wii U

Kolzig

Well that sucks, it has taken a long time for the part 2 to appear. Would've bought it for Wii U just like the first game, but seems I shall have to look at bargain bin discounts on PC then someday.

The first part was excellent. I wonder how many years it will take for the story to be complete with the part 3 of the trilogy. Maybe that will then a game for PS5, Xbox Two, Switch successor and PC.

Re: Team Behind Wii U Emulator, CEMU, Makes Surprising Progress With Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Kolzig

The thing is, I'm completely ok with emulation after the device that is being emulated has been gone for a few years. For example all the old console emulators and MAME emulators years ago when all the devices had pretty much stopped existing other than as overpriced VC products and even with those really small pool of products available.

Cemu on the other hand would be ok in a few years time if it became as good overall as other old emulators have during the years.

What however I am not ok with is that they are now doing the emulator purely on trying to get BotW running on PC, and the game came out three weeks ago on current and next gen consoles. So it's effectively piracy, I don't care that people on gaf and elsewhere say that "they are just making a backup of their own Wii U copy to play it on PC" because most of the people using Cemu are doing because of piracy.

The worst thing about Cemu devs is that A) it's closed source so not even open source for development, B) They are taking money for it, and insane amounts also. So basically they are doing copyright infringement and trying to cash in with it. That's why I suspect they will be getting hit and hard by Nintendo and that's completely understandable and also expected.

Cemu should exist in a few years time for exactly game preservation purposes, but not now when the only point of it is piracy and trying to play the hottest game in the gaming market for free on PC.

Re: Ubisoft Wants Your Input On Future Nintendo Switch Software Support

Kolzig

It's actually quite strange that Ubisoft has only announced Just Dance, Steep and Rayman Legends Definitive Edition so far, even though there have been a lot of rumours flying around.

You would think Ubisoft would want to hit it big in the launch period. They haven't even had a media conference yet.

Steep and Rayman seriously should've been ready for the launch day of Switch.

Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Coming To Switch, Wii U Version Deader Than Drac Himself

Kolzig

Not surprised, so many developers are unreliable and can't keep their promise. Bloodstained has looked really weak for a longtime and the release date keeps getting pushed back years so it might be this one comes out on PC, Xbox Two, PS5 and Switch in the end.

I learned my mistakes from the Mighty No. 9 failure and did not back Bloodstained or Yooka-Laylee back in the day. Too unreliable devs and turns out my instincts were correct on both cases.

Re: Atlus Reveals Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology For 3DS

Kolzig

Excellent that Radiant Historia is coming again. 3DS userbase is huge, but still again the 3DS hype has been winding down for some time now and Switch is all the hype, it's interesting to see that 3DS is getting still so much heavy support.

Also this really mirrors the original release of Radiant Historia, coming to market as the console it's developed on is winding down.

Re: Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 DLC Shown Off In New Introduction Video

Kolzig

Would be interesting to know when is version 1.3 coming for the first Azure Striker Gunvolt on 3DS to Europe? I'd really appriciate Nintendolife to ask Inti Creates since you guys are based in Europe so you should take the initiative and you have more credibility to ask ton just a random sad fan in Europe like me. Why did they leave Europe out of the update. Why did it only come to North American fans?

Also as @Moroboshi876 wrote above, where is the Striker Pack? Why hasn't it been released in Europe? It came months ago to North America.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th March (Europe)

Kolzig

@Dunan yes I agree, Blaster Master Zero looks interesting, but the way backers got treated with Mighty No 9 and European fans with the Azure Striker Gunvolt... I can't see them deserving any further purchases.

Re: World to the West to Begin Its Wii U Journey on 5th May

Kolzig

Oh wow, I was just looking for information regarding this Teslagrad followup in the beginning of this week and thought it is odd that there had been no news of it's release date other than it is coming in 2017. Wonderful to see that these awesome devs are supporting Wii U!

I hope for future they would be looking to make the sequel and perhaps even Teslagrad as a double package for those users who have Switch. But I will be looking to get this on Wii U!

Thank you wonderful devs!

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th March (Europe)

Kolzig

I find it interesting that Inti Creates makes Azure Striker GUNVOLT Anime available in Europe and DLC for Azure Striker GUNVOLT 2.

But they haven't released the physical Striker Pack here, or most importantly updated Azure Striker GUNVOLT to version 1.3 like the North American version is already like six months ago.

Re: Say Bye-Bye to BoxBoy on 23rd March in Europe

Kolzig

Shame that the amiibo isn't coming to Europe. Have to buy it then next time I'm in Japan.

Physical edition would've been great as well, but I'm not surprised about that. Those rarely get out of Japan for this kind of excellent niche games.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)

Kolzig

@ThomasBW84 Will you guys make a separate review for the Wii U version? Mine just shipped today, can't wait to play it tomorrow when it arrives in post.

Going to be the last physical Wii U game released on the great console, that Nintendo misunderstood to market to the world.

E: I'm really surprised that Nintendo didn't give NL a pre-release copy of the Wii U version. Are they deliberately trying to push down the Wii U version and not have it represented at all?

Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

Kolzig

Just like the Wii U Pro Controller, it seems Nintendo made a near excellent controller. The battery life is pretty much the best in the business, but I really don't understand why both the Joycons and the Pro controller don't have analog triggers. It seems utterly strange that the mistake they made on Wii U is getting repeated now on Switch as well.

Re: Blaster Master Zero Lays Waste To Switch And 3DS On March 9th

Kolzig

Looks cool and quite fine indeed. Only worry is that it's from Inti Creates.

I'd really like Nintendolife to do some investigative journalism and get an answer from Inti Creates that why did they never release the Azure Striker Gunvolt big update in Europe for 3DS? Why only release it in USA? If you have the game out and the update only in Steam globally, but then on 3DS just in USA, that seems really weird and it just sucks.

I would like the missing content to be released for European fans also. It's absolutely horribly bad customer service from them and does not really make me buy any of their games ever again.

Mighty No. 9 is a completely another story of course. Man they really messed that up...
