I like tower defense, and would like this to be good, but I just don't have the patience for something really hard. I'm not asking for a cakewalk, but I'm over games that are frustratingly hard. I'll pick a more well-rounded game.
Its a really charming little game, I wasn't a tangrams person but this game convinced me otherwise I love several of the characters! I don't know about anyone else, but I found several of them to be challenging- I certainly wasn't blowing through every one in one try.
I havn't been able to access the eShop at all for a number of days now, I think it was before Xmas, and when I tried again today it told me my region has been blocked due to how busy it was. I can wait for the Bank, I'm honestly not surprised this happened, I'm just disappointed I can't get anything else since there are some things on sale and a game I wanted to get. Also Pokemon X is telling me I have an update, but I can't do anything about it.
I'm really looking forward to this! I enjoy the Android game and this looks much more in-depth. I look forward to a version that is not hampered by a microtransaction scheme, although its not high pressure. Nothing wrong with mashing pokemon with a puzzle game in my book. Look how awesome Puzzle Quest was.
That's really cool, but I wish it was like that more often and not just this two day event! I am fortunate that the main companies that have it are fairly prolific in my area.
Waaaaant. I recently got the app on Android, and its fun. Wow, they turned it into much more of an RPG. The app is really straightforward (also free and easy to not have to spend money on). That just makes it a lot cooler. I also approve if more good app games get this type of treatment.
Hmm, no review yet, I was curious what they'd say. So far personally I like it. Its pretty linear, but has a lot of elements I like. The main puzzling is a mix of various Bejeweled delxue features- dropping an item to the bottom, clearing off the marked spaces on the board, etc. so it will be very familiar. Their quirk is that each round has multiple boards- so far I've seen up to 4 together. The trick is you may need to clear one board to get a key to access or finish another board. There are arrows to switch between them. The difficulty is its timed (though there's an untimed option- you pick a difficulty when you make a new save game.) Interspersed is other minigames- a hidden object like 4Elements has, as well as a arrange the puzzle pieces game. You also have to grow flowers to further your magical skills. You are trying to save the world, so as you progress you do unlock more skills to manipulate the board. You use your collected gems to restore parts of the kingdom. There is also a small item shop where you can buy extra lives, increase the gems you can hold, and more.
Overall it gets to be an odd mix, but I find it fun. I also think the graphics are above-average.
I want to update that I've put in a good amount of time in the game and I havn't encountered any glitches, so their issues should be considered abnormal.
This actually kind of looks like a mix of Jewel Adventures and 4 Elements, both of which look rather generic but I enjoyed. I'll probably get it. I think it only gets compared to Puzzle Quest because of the mix of puzzle and additional elements, I don't think its actually really RPGish other than having a story.
I like the core concept of Mario Party, but I can't really remember the last time I've enjoyed playing one. I guess that game just isn't for us anymore. I like to have a game to enjoy local multiplayer with friends, but this again doesn't seem worth the investment in everyone getting it to play together.
I'm disappointed, I know its a minor title to most, but I was looking forward to it. I enjoyed the Playstation version and we put a good number of hours into it.
Sounds like the good old "well we don't allow that type of thing, but leave it up to the copyright holders to actually police all marketplaces and report infringements themselves rather than do something about it on our own."
I have to say, I just feel more excitement for this game as it approaches. I wasn't excited for the B/W generation games much though I played through most of White 2 after it'd been out for a while. I'm glad I pre-ordered it.
I really hope there is a way to get all 3 starters without much hassle, because for once I like them all. Although Fennekin will be my main. I usually don't care that much about legendaries, but I'd like to get both of those too.
Also to those I keep seeing going on about hopefully the assumed "Pokemon Z" will have full 3D, I think the Black/White generation has proven it is NOT inevitable. I wouldn't judge so hard on one graphics feature until you play it yourself.
Awesomesauce! I was upset I missed the Kickstarter ending since I didn't see this till now, but there is an extended period you can still get in through their website! We saw them in concert last year and it was well worth it. I really enjoyed the music to a lot of games even though I wasn't familiar with many of them, so I don't know why you'd think you won't like it if you don't know what it is.
I did pick up the game and have no regrets and have faced no glitches. I loved stuff like the Puzzle Quest, so this was indeed of that genre. Its no Puzzle Quest since its more of a budget title, but for $5 I can't complain- its not as deep or shiny, but still hits that itch. As you go along, completing stages gets to have increasingly higher numbers of enemies to defeat, specific color gems to collect, or specific squares to break gems in. I really like the variety, and found I hit challenges at times but was able to get past them with a couple replays and some more focus, which puts it at just right in difficulty. (Although note the game is a LOT harder if you don't use the special skills you've unlocked through buildings. They are useful.)
My main nitpick is not being able to suspend and return later if you're in the middle of playing at all (short of just closing the lid while paused till later)- the stages are in 10 level increments and you either finish or have to start over if you want to quit out of the game. I don't find that to be a huge deal though since the stages aren't super long.
My other nitpick is I wish I could build more than 3 functional buildings, but the powers they give you are fairly good, so I would just advise reading the instructions and making sure of which ones you want before you make them as their function isn't very clear in-game. It may just be having all of them would make the game too easy so this is why you only get to build a few.
There was a complaint the puzzle area was rather small on the screen, but I found as I got further along the board kept getting bigger, until it filled up that whole area. So there's a reason for it. Ultimately there is no border space wasted.
I just wanted to put in my thoughts since I mostly disagree with the review here and think it should be rated higher- I don't want to see someone who may enjoy it pass it up. I honestly have a hard time putting it down.
I'm just disappointed at having to wait so long to pull some favorite Pokemon from the previous games over into it Maybe there will be another way to transfer before then or something. I figure by Dec I'll be mostly done with the game. I don't want old Pokemon because they're more powerful, I want them more to see some old favorites in the new format and be able to have them on my team.
It is a little disappointing not to have the whole game in 3D, but I trust them and its not like that is going to stop me from getting the game. I'm sure they knew people would be really disappointed by this so they wouldn't do it without good reason. In a way it'll be kind of interesting to have just the battles in 3D, since switching to 3D will be like sucking you into an alternate world to battle
If this is Adventure Time meets good Gauntlet then I'm there. I'm excited, but will wait and see reviews to see if it delivers. If it is a good game than that just rocks and I will grab it.
I like that it looks like you can play as a bunch of different characters. I hope this has local multiplayer for 3DS or I'll be disappointed.
This seems like exactly the type of game I like, and the other reviews I found didn't mention bugs, so I guess I'm going to spend my $5 and roll the dice. Pure Nintendo rated it fairly high and made me even more interested. It sounds kinda like a game I have on Steam I like a good deal (I forget the name, but it was a puzzle/rpg about a girl and her spirits who fight various fairies and such. The spirits of course correspond to match gem colors.)
Bought it as soon as I could. Some of the games are a little weaker than others, but it was no question for me to get the bundle. They're all fun in their own way and its fantastic to have some new hats and stuff for the Mii plaza.
I was interested until I heard Circle... but since its not directly from them, I'll still give it a look when it comes out. The website description has me interested. And yeah the cute monster things too. Good luck and hope to see it soon!
I'm very excited! I just wish this wasn't so close to Animal Crossing. I need to go back and finally finish the last bit of the first game. I loved it, but my house was always full- I never wanted to let any go!
Also very cool they put the first one on sale! Great opportunity to pick it up if you were on the fence before. Its probably still worth playing the first one first.
I would echo it would have been nice to be able to use play coins for the streetpass feature- I probably will only know 1 other person with the game unless I get really lucky.
I also think this game deserves the bit higher price tag since they have added several nice new features and it seems like a lot more robust game.
Why was this not also made for the 3DS eShop? WHY WHY WHY??? ;_; It had a GBA version! I would take that game! My favorite old Mario game, but I'm never going to have a Wii.

Fantasy Life and Tomodachi Collection- New Life are up there for me!
Still really hoping to hear about a US release! But why wouldn't they? Maybe seeing Animal Crossing come out and what its numbers are will be a final shove.
@Yoshi3DS They are fun games, particularly if you have a 3DS too to be able to play both versions. Just be prepared to shell out a lot of money for extra figures and not be able to find some. A few Giants still aren't out.
It looks like a really cool idea, but I'm done with Skylanders. All the waiting and chasing figures just wears on you, and its not cheap. We are still missing figures we wanted for the 2nd game, and mostly havn't had time to play it lately. I think its more likely we're going over to Infinity since gameplay seems more extensive.
I wish Skylanders would just release a game sequel with what they have out- more gameplay with them, but only a game to buy, not another line of figures.
Man, that's so disappointing. You had me at match puzzle plus defense, two types of games that I really like, and the graphics look pretty cute. While I am a fairly avid puzzler, it sounds like the controls for this are likely to still be too much for me. I can't stand when the screen doesn't obey my input. WHHHHHYYYYY can't games that sound awesome to me not be flawed? I was thinking it kinda reminds me of Might and Magic, which I loved and would love to see another one of.
I hate to think how much interest GameStop has earned off my preorder money, since I think I've had the game paid off or close to it since when it was first available over a year ago XP Will we get a preorder bonus at least as an apology?
Everyone keeps saying "I can just find that info online". If its info you want, then yeah, you can find more detailed data online. However, you can't find 3D models that you can drag to any angle, or easily click to hear a cry. So its more if you're a fan in general and like the novelty. If all you see it as is data reference, then this isn't for you.
I got it, and I do not regret it. I liked the free app, I primarily like using it for drawing reference since its really nice to be able to see any angle (and I don't always have a strategy guide or the internet handy), though I don't like the 3d models as much as the actual art, they're very geometric. Its also quite cool to see the little animations for each.
I think its frankly just cool to have an actual real-life Pokedex even if it doesn't have every single detail on each Pokemon (I kinda wish it had at least locations too.)
One annoyance I did have is I just have the default SD card, and its takes up 3300+ blocks of space. I had to delete all my demos, so now I can't get anything else until I get a bigger card I have a handful of other games, but not a lot.
My question is, is there any point in me keeping the free version? I think they ported all that stuff over and just added a bunch more. I think I'm going to delete it to recover some space unless there's a compelling reason not to. I almost wished there was an easter egg for those who collected all the old ones, but it looks like not.
