I knew there was something I was still sitting on eshop credit for I'd have gotten it this week, but I can wait! That is cool. I bet they had a big week because its around a holiday.
Looking for reviews. I like the art style, but Circle has presented a pretty package full of disappointment many times, and I tend to not like their stuff. It certainly looks like they're trying to sell it with boobs. I streetpassed with someone who had been playing it, and frankly the game icon is kind of embarrassing.
Watching the video, this seems like those line defense games that are super popular as app games lately. I find it hard to trust it to be good, since Circle likes to reskin trendy game styles in a too simple manner that often has horrible difficulty curves.
I'm going to wait for reviews. Its a shame, since it seems like they put a lot into having the proper voice actors, and Pendleton heavily involved in story etc, but they don't seem like they're that great of games.
This actually looks pretty meh. It looks like a gambling game? You're just trying to clear the board? It just looks so simple. So does the minigame at the end where you're just flinging Pokeballs at things wildly to try to get the Pokemon in the back.
It seems like the sort of game you'd play at Chuck e Cheese or something.
Thank goodness for local co-op. I'm getting really tired of games that ONLY have online multiplayer. Because what two friends want to sit together on the couch to play? >.> If it didn't have local play, we wouldn't be getting the game.
I tried the Harmoknight demo and thought it was too hard, or I just wasn't getting it, so I didn't consider it for purchase. I liked the earlier Denpa Men game a lot, and I heard they just keep getting better- such a great light RPG.
Really excited for this! I'm jealous of Europe, but at least it'll be extensively reviewed so I can be sure its the game I'm expecting before I get it.
This will probably be what makes me put Tomodachi Life down.
I was actually excited about this game when I first heard of it, and then had forgotten after several other vaguely similar games came out. Yay! Now to try to be done with Tomodachi Life by then...
I enjoy Tomodachi Life more than Animal Crossing in a way because its just the core messing with stuff and relationships without the daily labor sort of stuff Animal Crossing had. Its just a fun quirky game that doesn't try to make anything feel like work. You poke around and watch things develop, and are rewarded with unexpected quirky interactions. Its like Animal Crossing in that you can't completely judge it from a day of play. Also my friend got the demo and while he liked it, he said it was SUPER limited. So don't judge the game too much by its limitation.
I love the options they give you for transferring in people! They keep it always adjustable too which is awesome. Feel like you don't like a voice you made? Go change it! I'm also happy they had distributed a bunch of gold-pants Miis over wifi a while back, so I do have a good number of em. Whee legit Reggie and Iwata~! My priority has been RL friends, but I don't have that many so am also adding fictional people that amuse me. Like Snape.
I'll probably get it eventually, but I'm way behind. I'm pretty close but havn't quite beat the first one, and wanted to do that first (although its been a while since I played, since other games are distracting me). I bought the second on sale so then that's waiting for me. If I hadn't already bought the second, maybe I'd consider just skipping to the third. I'm glad that series has gotten appreciation, I think it deserves it. The catching your own party adds a really fun element to the genre. I'm sure the later games add some more meat than the first one did, so it is probably best for new players to skip to 2 or 3. I assume they still let you import your party from the demo, which I thought was really cool.
I was going to pass on this because it looked too generic for me. I like RPGs, but I'm looking for a GOOD game, not something to fill a nostalgia-hole. I can play the ACTUAL classics if I really want to, and there are PLENTY of clones. I'm still into the pixel art, but I won't get a game if its pretty shallow otherwise. As someone else said, RPGs take a lot of time since a main mechanic is still grinding. If I just want parties and grinding there's even stuff like Knights of Pen and Paper. I'm enjoying Bravely Default so I don't mind milking that for all its worth.
I'm a sucker for pigtails, so I don't think she looks that bad. It could have been a lot, lot worse. I'm actually glad she DIDN'T have the obvious Australian voice. Its maybe a little raspy, but I don't think its very high-pitched. So, I assume the "Dumb as a Stick" jokes have been made? I kinda get annoyed when they say a character is really smart, but make them the butt of constant ignorant jokes based on them saying stuff that sounds dumb all the time.
I played it on Android, and I enjoy it. I look forward to them dropping some of the tactics just to make you put money into the game. I've been playing for free though. And the puzzling is different since you grab a piece and you can keep using it to shift piece around until the timer runs out. Its still pretty hard though.
That seems a little unnecessary- Normal and Hard are really standard difficulties. To me "Casual" sounds like "Easy Cakewalk" and "Expert" sounds like "Hardcore". In a way that makes the choice harder for me.
I was curious when I heard the "dynasty warriors" analogy. Definitely going on my wishlist, but not sure if I'll bite since its pretty shallow. I may wait until I've gotten through some other games.
I picked it up not long after it came out, and I feel like I've already gotten my money's worth at regular price and have no regrets. I havn't beat it, but there is a lot to do. I do pretty much "get" the game now so solving puzzles generally is more of a relaxing rather than challenging experience, but its a neat puzzle concept and its just fun to see the colors roll out into a picture. Definitely recommended if you like picture puzzle games.
This seems like a rather generic JRPG to me- I still have Bravely Default to finish. If this one is good and stands out, cool, but it seems like retro JRPGs are coming out left and right. Does this one stand on top?
I was pleasantly surprised to see a number of ads on TV for Bravely Default, and I had many friends upset they were having a lot of trouble finding a physical copy in the area and had to turn to download.
Wow, its pretty weird. This is seriously the best they could come up with for a rock/fairy? The top part isn't bad, but the bottom is just a chunk of rock? I hope it has another appearance/form.
Looks like I'll be picking this one up! Glad to hear its a good game. Its a shame no online multiplayer, but I guess local is better than nothing. It seems like the main game is deep enough that's what you'd mostly be playing anyway, since I doubt the online mode would unlock anything. I'm guessing this is pretty much a game that is the equivalent of a full cartridge game, so the price isn't bad.
Still crossing my fingers Pokemon Puzzle League makes a comeback...
I got them back as the 2012 reward, and I think they're really cool. They look nicer in person than most pictures, though I don't really plan on using them to play with.
I mostly don't like the shortening of the survey period- sometimes it takes me more than a month to really put time into a new game, or I want to finish the game I was playing before first. I guess I need to wait to register it until I'm really playing it, but you get those bonus coins for certain new games only if you do it right away.
Is Number Battle among the games that is going to lose Wi-fi capability soon? I was thinking it'd be more appealing if I could play with a friend. Its a real shame there's no local multiplayer.
Is this one of the game that soon will no longer have Wi-fi service? Its a shame there's no local multiplayer. I would be more likely to pick this up to play with a friend.
I was waiting to see what you guys said, I'm glad you rated it highly. It still seems like a game that's more about the experience than really the gameplay, but it sounds quirky and fun. I'll probably pick it up.
I picked it up and seems great for only $3. Its a nice thoughtful diversion. I feel like I got the basic concept pretty easily, but several puzzles in I have to think so I havn't got all the concepts yet.The game is relaxing in the way of Sudoku or other thoughtful pattern games.
My only drawback is the game seems to let you cheat- I've finished a puzzle before with pieces in the wrong place, but it fit the required amount of squares for each piece. Also with the last piece, if you can get them all to satisfy their requirements for a second, then it will finish even if the piece ends up going over the number of squares its supposed to immediately after.
I'm also picking up Piccross DS because of this review
So long as they don't break any of the core things I loved, the sequel will be fantastic! Great game so far, I havn't gotten time to play as much as I'd like.
While I'm a pretty avid puzzle gamer, the other Trozei just didn't grab me and I didn't keep it very long. At least they've tried to add something to it, but will it really be enough? Also other Pokemon side games (like Pinball and Rumble Blast) are ridiculously mean about trying to collect the Pokemon- a lot of it is random luck. I hope this doesn't hold up to that tradition as well. I'll probably give this a shot, but I still really pine for Pokemon Puzzle League ;_; Now there's a favorite.
I personally like youkai folklore so I'm interested in this. I'm also surprised they didn't re-name it something more like "Monster Watch." Keeping it Yo-kai keeps it as more of a niche title. But maybe it'll be mostly bought by fans either way.
The demo had me hooked once and for all, though I already had it on preorder. Can't wait for this to hit. it looks like the best of classic jrpg gaming but with a fresher face. The collector edition seems to have some really lovely bonuses so I think it seems worth it. I'm rather glad NA didn't get the statue, because frankly it doesn't look very good.
Kickstarter is, like many things, about being smart about where you throw your money, and not just being blinded by a great idea. Does the person have a track record? How far is it along? How much have they really searched into what their actual costs, needs, and time will be? You can kinda tell the ones that are more of a wing and a prayer versus those that the game it already half done and they have an established team and workload.
Its just like ordering something from a shady internet site versus an established one.
I have no regrets for any projects I backed, and I think they have all reached fruition or are making regular progress (granted I usually also back comics or board games or other things more than video games). You just have to go into it expecting delays. I don't hold it against them when a game dev has delays on final approvals of their games. It happens even to the regular companies.
But since video games are a much more costly and less tangible thing, I think they're more susceptible to catastrophic delays or falling apart altogether. Its just in the past you just never hear about those games.
I for one am excited for this and will be really disappointed if it doesn't reach the US. I would think we have a good shot since we have the Android/iOS version? The 3DS version looks like they basically took the gameplay I liked and made the graphics more beautiful and dropped in a smoother RPG element to it to enhance longer play sessions.
Also everyone seems to glance at the colored gem board and say "Oh another Bejeweled clone". While there is gem-matching, this game and strategy are NOTHING like Bejeweled. It took me a while to get used to. You actually hold a gem and use it to push other gems around, and then once you let go everything is set in place. You can ponder the board as long as you want, but once you lift and gem and start shifting others around, you have a limited time before the layout is set. It makes a lot of food for thought to clear as much of the board as you can in one go.
I'd been hearing good things (and I saw my roommate playing it) so I grabbed this on sale Its actually cheaper than on Steam after their PC release! I think I'd prefer the 3DS interface anyway and the portability. Everyone should grab it and have no regrets! I think its one of my best holiday sale game purchases.
