Well, this week is better than many. I sigh at how much the Pokedex is, but I had to get it. I actually like to use it for quick drawing reference, rather than having to refer to the internet or strategy guides since neither are always handy. Though I kinda don't like the style of the Pokemon. I'm sure they did it because they needed to animate, but they are broken down a lot into flat and geometric shapes when I don't quite feel that's what they look like. Also the Pokedex is a hefty download- 3350 blocks. I had to delete all my demos XP
From the website: "Limited Quantity Increased Due to Extreme Popular Demand
To our fans and customers: We are very pleased to announce that after careful deliberation, we have decided to increase the original offering by an additional 1,500 units. This raises the total available quantity to 2,000 units - 500 of which have already been claimed (thank you so much).
Please understand that we grossly underestimated the interest a physical album would generate; the original offering of 500 was simply based on what we could afford to produce. We wanted to offer more, but at the time we couldn't. Now, we can.
That said (and yes, there's a caveat), our team's integrity and commitment to the fan base must dictate a paramount importance in that this edition remain a special, finite collector's item, and as such THIS WILL BE THE FINAL NUMBER AVAILABLE. Once they are gone, they are gone. This will not change. Beyond this new allocation, digital via Joypad Records and iTunes will be how the album will live on. Thank you so much for your understanding and for your support!!!"
I would have bought DLC unless it was really shallow or not worth the cost, but its nice to know I won't need to set aside extra money for the game. I'm surprised because they could, but kudos to them for not doing it.
I would definitely go in one of these, I don't like a lot of M games anyway. Though I have to question selling toys for stuff that isn't really kids genre- Big Bang Theory? Assassin's Creed plush? Arkham Asylum figures? I know kids are generally interested in M game related stuff, but I feel like that's somehow breaking the kids-only since those games/shows aren't for them.
I need more Pokemon plushes!!
I very much look forward to it! This was one of the best eShop games I've gotten and definitely worth it for every penny I do hope Europe gets the first one before this though. They deserve it.
I've played some more, and gotten a better idea of how it works. I still don't have B/W 2 yet but plan on picking it up soonish. One thing to look out for, your caught inventory of Pokemon is limited to only 5 until you transfer them to the game! So that kinda sucks. Legendaries don't seem to count towards that thankfully.
@TrueWiiMaster I think you can only get 1 of each legendary, I know they've said so of the Thundrus etc group. Transferring back to B/W will probably depend on if they allow you to transfer Pokemon back in general. I don't know if its possible. I think some of these are B/W 2 exclusives so maybe not?
@GreenX1 The first time I tried to play though, it was night so the room was dark. I couldn't find a darn thing. I gave up and shut the game off (since you can't do anything else) and figured it was because I had to play during the day or something. I guess I need to pay more attention to that radar? I wish it'd stay up :/ I'd been trying going in slow circles, looking up and down, and walking around the house, but I can't seem to find a good method of finding the clouds.
I saw this on eShop already last night and grabbed it. I knew this wouldn't be a great game since it seems mostly a gimmick to make up for B/W 2 being regular DS, but so far I'm pretty disappointed with it. Its like they had a really simple concept for a game, but they had to try to make it hard since you're getting rare Pokemon.
When you start, it doesn't even tell you what to do until you find a cloud. I have an incredibly hard time finding any clouds. It doesn't give you much of a clue. I wandered around my house for 10min and no clouds, and I couldn't do anything (no buttons worked.) After setting it down for a while while on and trying again, I finally found some and could finish the tutorial. I went back to cloud mode and can't find anything again. But if you stop they go away and you have to restart waiting for them to appear :/
You catch Munna in the tutorial (or is it random?) and it flits around annoyingly as you're trying to button mash to catch it. I don't like when both quick frantic aiming and button mashing are required, plus I bet this will be on a short timer later. Also after the tutorial you can't even do anything, you have to set the game down and wait for more clouds to generate. Really, they couldn't have let you play for real immediately?
I don't have plans to get B/W 2 soon since I've barely started B/W and I read it matters having played the first one first, but I thought the Dream Radar would be a fun diversion until I was ready to play it, and by then I'd have some good Pokemon to transfer.
So yeah really not impressed so far. Anyone have any tips for me to find clouds better?
I hope there's a demo. I would think we'll be getting it.
I may have to clear off or get a new SD card though. The one it came with isn't quite cutting it anymore, and I'd the new Pokedex app will be pretty big too.
Once again, I'll wait for the review, which I expect to be disappointingly bad. Darn you Circle. And yeah, it does look a lot like 3 Heroes Crystal Soul, except they've changed it a little. Hmm, I guess 3 is a magic number.
Grr so if I want this, I gotta bloody buy b/w, I can't just wait for b/w 2. Jerks! I can't find any mention of this on Gamestops events section of their website, how do I even know if this will happen around me?
I'd like this game to be good, and I'm interested to see a review, but its Circle. Not holding my breath. They almost seen to have a Zynga approach to appropriating game concepts from other games, but they seem to fail to capture what makes that game fun originally.
I didn't honestly like the original Scribblenauts that much. I really wanted to, I liked the style and the idea was awesome. But I found I wasn't really hooked on playing. I wonder if I can like this more. Will the Mario homage be Wii only, or both?
Colors 3D is a fantastic deal! I hope everyone who doesn't have it yet is taking advantage of it. Planet Crashers interests me, but I'm going to have to wait for a review to spend that much right now, especially knowing Denpa Ningen is coming in the future. Is it multiplayer? Is it active or turn-based combat? It seems like the sort of game that should be a full cart with streetpass etc. It also makes me think it'd be cool if Costume Quest (Xbox) was a DS game.
I'm glad I havn't blown all my points on Theatrhythm songs yet :3
Looking forward to Giants though it is going to put a hurting on our pocketbook. Still havn't even seen the last character from the previous game, Wham Shell.
I would be very happy to see them return to the series so long as its on 3/DS and Xbox. That's one of my all-time favorite games :3 Although I didn't like Galactrix very much (it has issues), so I hope they go back in the direction of the original. I got Puzzle Kingdoms but was just thinking I never got around to playing it for some reason... I did like the Gyromancer game for Xbox though its a different company, though not quite as much as PQ. There was another game a bit in that genre I really liked, but now I forget the name of it.
I eyed it a bit but was concerned with getting lost or having it be too old-school hard, though I was feeling pangs of nostalgia for a simple RPG though I have not played this series before. This review is pushing me towards picking it up
I was just starting to get into Pokemon Conquest when Theatrhythm came out. Naught else has graced my cartridge slot since and it has brought me much enjoyment :3 I need to try the Heroes of Ruin demo.
I expect awesome weirdness! I like the style, I would think it it could be fun just to watch and play even if it isn't really great or hard. I hope to see a great game though!
Color me curious. This sounds fun, looks cute, and being fully customizable appeals to me. I look forward to more info, but at that price I want to see a good review first.
Does anyone think there's any possibility of them releasing more characters as DLC? I know you can buy extra songs. I still like the game a lot, but was a little sad not to see some of my favorite characters available (they pretty much stuck to the main hero from each game and a random assortment of 16 other unlockable characters). Granted I understand they didn't want to do too many characters, since they can level up to 99 and that takes a long time, but everyone has different favorites I'm sure they'd like to see.
I preordered the game and so far am glad I did. Its really addictive once you start playing The music is beautiful, and the gameplay is fun. It gets challenging, but is easy to pick up even if you havn't played music games much before. The RPG element adds more fun and replay. I think they really did it right for a good music game, when they could have gotten away with something mediocre.
I've been really liking it so far, I enjoy tactics games and I've been taking my time with my first playthrough and have already racked up some hours. I'm glad there aren't more Pokemon and warriors, it gets to be a lot of things to micromanage if you want to shoot for the best pairings. I think the little minigame to link with a Pokemon is cute. My only real disappointment is you can't pass Pokemon between warriors.
Its a shame the Pokedex Pro will be later on. I'll probably get sucked in later, but if I don't have a good reason to preorder, I'm going to wait. Conquest has me well-occupied right now, and there's still other good games coming before then.
It is a very fun game, and the figures are well-implemented with it. The console version is generally somewhat easy for adults, but still charming (and if you have a 3DS you can use all those same figures for a totally different and more challenging game). There is a website with free online play with the figures too though its largely kiddie games, its still not bad. You will end up wanting to have at least 1 of each element, and won't help but want to get some favorites. Each character has their own flavor and gets different abilities as they level up (though a few are similar, there is a lot of variety.) The figures themselves are well sculpted and painted. So yeah, this is an expensive game, and there can be some frustration finding particular figures, but they did put out a product worthy of the price. They could have copped out more on this, but they didn't.
Cool! I'm glad I just got a points card for my birthday I was saving them for when the Pokemon apps came out, but now I have other stuff to think about.
OMG I really wanted this when I read about it, but never expected it to get localized. Please for NA too! I love typing games, and this looks super fun!
