Nintendo of America has confirmed that the quirky mash-up challenges of NES Remix and NES Remix 2 will be hitting retail shelves sometime around the holidays.
Nintendo announced the offering, currently known as NES Remix Pack, on its Twitter feed during their live event at San Diego Comic Con:
493105908184915968
Japan received a similar package this year under the title Famicom Remix 1 + 2. Hopefully NES Remix Pack will have equally fetching box art. Unfortunately, there is no word of a specific release date or a European release at this time.
Have you been holding out in hopes of picking up NES Remix 1 and 2 on a disc? Does the pack tempt you even though already own one or both titles from the eShop? Let us know below.

Eh, i'd rather downloadable, but hey, that box art looks cool
If the box art looks as neat as the Japanese box art, I'll double dip for sure!
WHY????????
Why do you do this to me, Nintendo! Why do you make me pick NES Remix as an Elite Status gift and then announce this????
FINALLY! I simply don't want to ever rely on downloadable-only games. I always go for physical releases or only downloadable games of something I own the physical copy of.
I'll get it for $20. Anything higher and I'll wait for an eshop discount.
Nice! =)
The way Bill Trinen announced it on the stream was so awkward. He basically said it randomly after a round of smash.
Maybe it will make it to the 3ds...
Well, if it comes to Europe, I will buy them once again.
Awww, do I really have to re-buy them? Cause I really don't wanna pay twice for them... and I can't expect Nintendo to manage giving me a discount on the physical version for owning the downloads.
What I'm wondering is whether they'll be separate games on the disc, like, I don't know, the Zelda GC Collector's Disc or something(?), or integrated in some way. You know what I mean.
@brewsky amen to that! Knew I should have snagged dr Luigi. Fun game nonetheless, tho now I wonder if the remix sales other regions got were held back bc of this.
Haha! So glad I didn't pick NES Remix as my platinum gift. I'll be getting this physical package. Hope the box art is as cool as the Japanese version.
Yeah, most likely it will be on one disc. Guess I'm gonna wait until the physical copy to get these. Just glad I didn't use my Platinum reward to get this.
I'm glad I held out. I had thought about picking up the first one after they announced the second, but when I heard that Japan was getting a physical copy, I decided to hold off in hopes that it would come to America.
About time! So glad I didn't cave and buy them digitally.
mreh, I got NESR1, all I need
@Kaze_Memaryu
But if you already downloaded them, why would you buy the retail disc?
Seriously? I should have got dr luigi.
Used my Platinum to get the first one, luckily I haven't bought the second one yet. I'll be getting the physical version, but Nintendo better give me eshop credit or a choice of another game to make up for this.
Awesome, this is what I've been waiting for!
maybe...
Great, now I'll finally have something to get for the Holidays. Might grab Wii Sports Club around then, too.
"sometime around the hoildays."
Of couse it is. I think Iwatas calendar only has 3 pages, summer, winter, holidays; and all the boxes are blank.
Im going to wait for the re-mixed remix version.
It is good to see another retail box to sure up the Wii U section for the holidays. People need 2nd games for all the B1G1 sales.
I've already got both eStore versions so I plan to pass on this. But it's good for those that prefer physical copies.
I'll go digital on Nintendo 1st party (maybe 2nd party too) games now that NNID is already in place. I won't lose my games as long as I have my account accessible. So it's not really a big deal now that they've released Wii Sports club and are now releasing NES remix pack. I'm happy for those who still prefers physical discs.
Everything doesn't have to be retail.
I was hoping for this! It's why I've held off on downloading them for so long! Hopefully they'll only charge $29.99!
"A repackaged mix of remixed packages" 10/10
I really wish I would have known this before I picked NES Remix as an Elite member gift
Awesome ! Glad I waited !
@Kaze_Memaryu
Then don't buy it?
Good thing I held off getting my Platinum reward, cause now i'll get the revved up version, served at my local gamestop!
Yeah I'll probably just stick with downloading, since I already have the 1st one.
Yes! I've been waiting for this. Good news!
Sweet! Good thing I didn't buy either of them yet! Great success!
@XFsWorld Some people prefer retail, myself included. I personally only get download games if it's the only option.
Anyway, I think I'll have to pick this up! I never played either one, but was somewhat interested in the first, and very interested in the second.
On another note, Mysterious Murasame Castle is coming to the 3DS VC in the US for the 1st time on August 7th! This is its first appearance in the US.
If there will be a BOGO sale happening, I'm getting this and Captain Toad fo sho
"A repackaged mix of remixed packages!"
Haha
Price?
Nice! But I am still going to just go ahead and download Remix 2 in the next week or so.
Coming back home to Germany in September. If they announce it for Europe as well I guess I can wait to play it for 3 more months.
Such a Nintendo thing to do. This news would've been awesome two weeks ago... before they encouraged many Nintendo fans like me to download the first game as a Club Nintendo platinum reward for being good customers. Now any interest I have in buying a retail release is (at best) cut in half.
I'm a huge "buy physical" fan, but will pass unless the game gets a ridiculous mark-down at retail.
Glad I chose Game & Wario as my Platinum status reward.
For download only games published by Nintendo, I always wait for them to be a club.nintendo reward. But hoping we'd get a retail version as Japan, I held off form getting NES Remix as my platinum reward, and now Im glad I did and went instead with Dr. Luigi for the platinum reward.
I'm sold.
Right after I used up my platinum reward on this? Ugh...
I remembered about the possibility of a retail Remix right after I picked Remix for my Platinum prize. I should have went for Dr. Luigi instead. Oh well, this years prizes were a huge let down.
As a physical gamer who downloaded NES Remix a few days ago as my platinum reward, I'm pretty damn upset. If Nintendo had announced this sooner, I would have gotten something else.
Don't get me wrong; I'm happy to see this get a physical release and will happily get it all the same, but I'm very annoyed that my platinum download is effectively wasted now.
Now I will for sure pick these up!!
@brewsky Cheer up. The physical bundle is presumably $30—the combined price of both titles—and you only have to pay $15 to have both NES Remixes.
I got both Day 1, so I am not double dipping. The two downloads are not even that big anyway. But good for all those who waited.
I waited after they announced the Japanese version. I'll gladly pay $30.
Guess I will be asking Santa for this
Satoru Shibata, you know what you have to do...
This better be 30max. Its 2x 10 euros over here which is fair.
If the price is right.
I feel that a €25 would be a fair price (maybe €30) if the game gets released over here. As for me getting errrm not sure yet. I don't have either remixes so that is an advantage for me to get the physical version.
@mastersworddude @burninmylight But I want it! I want every game on retail if it's possible!
@IceClimbers
Oh I saw that. Mysterious Murasame Castle looks like a BRUTAL game too. Think Krysta said Miamoto had a hand in development too. I love getting these Japanese classics that never got localized.
I'll be getting NES Remix 1+2 on disc, even though I own them both digitally. Sucks that between Ducktales Remastered, Wii Sports Club, NES Remix 1 and NES Remix 2 I spent a good $90 digitally, only to re-buy physically. Oh well, I knew the risks when I bought them.
@Koopa_Bro
You in NA? Get Gamer's Club Unlocked through Best Buy. They're having a sale right now- $60 for 2 years membership.
Then the price is ALWAYS right.
Europe Nintendo! Europe!
Please.
That's why I have not bought these games yet.
Glad to hear this news.
Oh, good. I sure hope it's on the cheaper side, 'cause I have others to get around that time.
I knew it.
Hopefully it will come to Europe too.
So does this mean there won't be any more NES Remix titles in the work? Hopefully they are doing 2 SNES Remix games this time around
I like this. Thank god i didn't get any downloads then . This will save a lot more money anyhow
Well then, maybe it was good I haven't downloaded them yet.
Bring it to Europe in a nice box, and I'll definitely double dip! I'd been hoping they'd do this when they announced the second game, but went ahead and bought it downloadable during a recent discount, after giving up hope...
How I dislike this era of downloadable games Sure, it brings us some great games we'd otherwise never get to play, but collecting is part of the fun too...
And then late physical releases happen (like Walking Dead, in which they did an even dirtier trick of releasing another episode AFTER the physical release, which wasn't part of the season pass, and then another complete season 1 physical release...).
And now this. I'll get it when it comes to Europe. And when it doesn't, I'll hate regional lockout even slightly more.
I hate it when Nintendo pull this crap, say they are download ONLY and then release them as physical disc copys, they did the samething with Wii Sports Club also. I picked up Nes Remix 1 when it first came out and Wii Sports Club Bowling also when it first came out, but I haven't picked up Nes Remix 2 or the rest of the sports games yet and now they go and announce this physical copy. If I new this I would have waited to pickup both Nes Remix collection and Wii Sports Club both on disc I would rather have a Physical Copy of a game anytime over digital only, but instead I am now stuck with Nes Remix and Wii Sports club bowling on my digital system instead, and I don't like having repurchase the games that I already own twice. Just so I can have a disc copy of the games. So I won't be getting either disc version of either games now.
I got the two already on the eShop, but if you have yet to play these I'd definitely hold out for the retail version!
I'm still puzzle why they couldn't just make a third one before they do this. Much rather to have all three in physical form than just one or two but for many who haven't download the two yet this is a good thing.
well this'll hurt NOE's sale promotion a bit...
@Darkness3131 Yeah same here
Since I already have downloaded both, I'm gonna buy the disc and keep it sealed, same thing I did with Luigi-U.
What about people in the UK & EU ?? snubbed again ?
They need to care more about people this side of the world no wonder so many people are getting ps4's.. Sort it out nintendo uk
As long as it is priced no higher than $30 I'll definitely pick it up. I much prefer owning physical copies of Nintendo franchises.
I will double dip on these titles because I like my physical game copies and the boxart is amazing.
@StarDust4Ever Good idea.. I now want to double dip on thaf DLC for that reason now.
YES! YES! YES! I have been holding off on buying the NES Remix ever since I saw that the physical release was coming to Japan! I'm so glad that I bought Super Luigi U!
Aww man I was really hoping it'd be on 3DS too We still don't own a Wii.
@Alucard83
My thoughts exactly.
UK release?
I wonder how much,like $30??
@Captain_Gonru What you have said is all certainly true. And yeah I can see people holding off getting the SNES Remix digitally if they think a physical bundle will be available in the future. But then there are always those who just have to get the game right away, and those who will go for it simply because it is digital. And I would say that how well a SNES Remix 1 & 2 are sold digitally depends how well priced the physical copy of NES Remix 1 & 2 is. If more than getting both digitally, then that may persuade people just to get all future titles in the series digital over physical. So many variables, we will just have to wait and see what happens. Exciting
Your brain exercise is a good one. I am with you that producing the N64 Remix games would just be too much work and complicated. Plus the price would have to go up to justify the work gone into them. And we can forget about a GC Remix altogether. Also I just think that the games produced on the N64 and later are altogether a different type from those on the SNES, NES and Game Boy. I just don't see them working together as well. Also I don't think there is the vast number of N64 games Nintendo own or easily have access to that they did on earlier platforms to be able to produce 2 Remix titles.
Great. Just when I gave up on waiting for a physical disc. Already 100%ed NES Remix 2!
As a new WiiU owner, as well as someone who prefers physical media, this is cool news for me. I'll definitely wait and purchase this rather that download each one separately. Coolness 👍
My patience paid off. Getting physical version for sure.
Nintendo are hitting the bottom of the Donkey Kong barrel when they need to release a bunch of crappy NES games on disc just to fill out the holiday lineup
I don't really want a collectors edition of a game I found overrated. The box art looks nice though.
Wow what a huge middle finger to me and everyone who chose NES remix for the platinum reward.
too bad i have these already id rather have the disc
Hopefully it also hits Europe, at a decent price.
@b5234 ^This was my feeling.
...Yep. I'm going to double dip.
really hope this gets a UK physical release
