If you play/collect Pokémon cards, please consider supporting your local game store rather than Amazon. The set isn't mindblowing but there's actually some pretty decent meta relevant cards in there.
The tweet makes it clear that they own a card store, an industry which is already not doing all that well due to covid, despite the recent surge in interest in TCG's. The boost in popularity is seemingly superficial and has inspired more to invest rather than play. Suddenly everyone is trying to make money off cards and legitimate hobby stores are taking a hit as a result. It might seem a bit scummy but if your livelihood is based on selling cards, I don't see much of a problem here. They should have donated the cereal or done something with it rather than letting it go to waste though.
There's money to be made in pokémon cards currently and nothing wrong with buying up products to stick to one side while it appreciates, just don't take the piss too much and remember to support your local game store.
After beating the game you can literally just carry on from before the boss. You aren't preserving anything tangible, but rather depriving yourself of additional content that the game has to offer.
This review is far too brief and really doesn't do a good job of explaining the concept of the game. "there is no incentive to explore" is a particularly egregious quote from this piece. I have only played the (lengthy) demo of the game but exploration was a huge aspect, with literal permanent upgrades being hidden away and not required to proceed. The puzzles required inventive thinking and were loads of fun, more akin to old point and click game logic. I don't think this reviewer 'got it'.
Modding handhelds like this is something i've been getting into recently, it's a fair bit easier than it looks at first and it's nice to be able to recycle/upcycle old hardware. Making gameboy macros from old broken DS's has been most enjoyable as they have great screens and you can do a lit in terms of customization.
Me and a group of friends got our early access tickets for like £12, but i don't know if I can justify spending over quadruple that on the train fares to get to London, really wasn't a good move for most people, Birmingham was much more central and easy to get to. We didn't even go for the games as there as rarely anything too exciting, it was just a cheap day out - not anymore.
I really want to know more about the RPG and exploration aspects of the game. I'm itching for another Nier and this is looking similar in a lot of ways.
@gloom They don't have to spend money producing the cartridges either, reducing the cost to the publisher but maintaining the cost to the consumer whilst not offering as much.
I backed the game and really enjoyed it on PC, this review doesn't mention how bizarre and sloppy the writing can become during some of the side-character cutscenes. After completing everyones side quests you're rewarded with a cutscene where the characters discuss their sexual preferences, their gender, who they're sleeping with etc. The tone of the game just takes a nosedive and it's downright weird and out of place. Gameplay-wise though the game is solid, even if it does sorely under-utilize its own time stopping mechanic.
The variety of arenas and modes actually looks pretty nice and the game is well presented but it's essentially a Mario Party minigame at its core by the looks of it. Nifty, but asking any more than £5 for it will be a bit much.
Really not a fan of the pose. I'd be far more tempted if they were just stood upright holding a jiggy or something. Shame too as i'd been looking forward to this.
These Power A controllers are actually really solid and feel great in the hand - better, i would argue than the official pro controller. It does of course lack motion controls, nfc, wireless etc. For anything that doesn't require gyro though this is my main controller.
@Anti-Matter
Of course, it is entirely up to you what you choose to like or dislike and I would never suggest otherwise. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - what I and others on here find annoying is the extremely childish and single-minded way in which you express that opinion.
For the record, i'm not a huge fan of CoD either, and I enjoy Rhythm Paradise, Animal Crossing etc. as will a lot of the readers on here. Why you feel the need to denounce everything you personally dislike every time it gets so much as a mention is the problem here.
You can dislike something without pooping all over it and you can like something without constantly going on about it, regardless of the context of the article you mention it in. It's not your opinions that people get annoyed at, just the hypocritical and constant way in which you voice those opinions, so I say again, Grow up.
Firstly, these aren't 'deals', and I have no idea why the article is titled as such.
Secondly, this has confirmed my fears - $40 for Dragon Trap physical. The box looks lovely but for that kind of mark up, Nicalis can &@#! off. They're really taking the P**s lately with their retail releases, and as much as I really want a cartridge version I flat out refuse to pay roughly double the asking price. Cartridges arent 'that' much more expensive and if I remember rightly Dragons Trap is under 1gb. It's just greedy, this switch tax nonsense has gotta stop.
If you ACTUALLY want to save some money and find a list of deals in the UK, check out www.hotukdeals.com. It's updated all the time and better deals are upvoted for more visibility.
@Ervex_109
Yeah, the author of the article said he 'seems' to be an Aztec themed fighter, that's fair enough, he has that vibe, but that's far from official confirmation - Arms is not set in the real world and the characters are all composited of various cultural influences.
After a quick and highly scientific google search, Misango seems to correspond to a type of beaded hat or headdress originating from the Democratic Republic of Congo - this makes sense as his name can't just be random and the material his arms are made of is similar in some ways to the woven threads used to make the Misango hats, which I found pretty interesting at least.
Edit: Seems likely that his name may also be a play on the word Misanga, a type of native american friendship bracelet which may in fact be what his arms are.
@Ervex_109 Does being kinda tribal/shamanic looking really qualify as 'promoting Mexican culture'?
The face masks, the poison skull weapon, the scorpions all give off a kinda African vibe to me. Probably a combination of many different cultural influences in the way Lola Pop was (particularly her stage theme sounding French/Italian/Spanish)
I held off on this one, despite it being one of my most anticipated games of the year, that's how much i wanted a physical copy...but it's bloody Nicalis again which means we're going to be paying about £30 for a £15 game and just have to pray it sees an eventual European release. They need to stop shafting switch owners with these overpriced physical copies - £25 TOPS.
Breath of the Wild's lack of fishing system was one of the most disappointing aspects of the game. A proper fishing journal and different rods with rare fish in a game of this scope would have been amazing, but no, you just jump in and grab 'em
@Curlynob lol, I thought about doing that myself - I was told that they're likely to get stock within a week, hopefully not too much longer than that, no idea when it'll get played now though with odyssey and sonic and nightwars just around the corner... Weirdly they've sold out of the 3ds version now too, can't imagine its sold that well, so must just be having stock issues. If it's not been shipped in a week i'll probably complain again, see how much more I can get knocked off
@Curlynob Just finished talking to Amazon myself, they told me that the release date listed on their database is 15th November (wtf), and that they may have difficulty sourcing stock from the supplier, despite the fact that the Limited Edition is showing for release in 2 days. Was offered a £10 voucher IF it doesn't turn up...
As others have already said, this is a fantastic little game and priced very reasonably, even cheaper than the steam version. Took me about 25 hours to (afaik) 100% on pc so its well worth the price.
@tabris95 It has rings, springs, dash panels, badniks, loop-de-loops, classic styled checkpoints etc. Does it really look too dissimilar to any of the 3d sonic games since 2008? or even the adventure series?
@DrJoson Do you know if its possible to just equip different weapon types on characters? Like how Link could use swords and fire rod and the wrecking ball in Hyrule warriors?
Quite looking forward to this one, never been a fan of Musou but Hyrule Warriors was enough to convince me otherwise. Hopefully it delivers on its promise of a slightly more tactical, rpg approach. Only costing me £35 anyway, so long as its near Hyrule Warriors in terms of quality, i'll be happy.
